Sort of addictive, I watched 7 episodes and it kept my interest however I don't know how long it will. A drama where you wish them to finally discuss the misunderstandings and find a common ground and carry on watching because of this wish. Little spoiler, those who are loved by the FL are all criminals or almost, they either met their end (due to the emperor) or they really should meet. But for FL they are beloved and trusted people and she knows nothing about their criminal acts till the level that unknowingly she fights against them saving their victims (a part of them). To protect her (allegedly) everyone keeps her in the dark while the truth could be painful but also helpful. She is "just" a pawn in the game of politics and gain power but at least her husband treated her with respect and seemingly has feelings for her. Still it must end with tragedy as the biggest opponents are her father and her husband. Could you forgive to any of these for killing the other at the end of the game? What "resolving" could you accept? Absolutely frustrating drama but I somehow enjoy, the leads performance is stellar. If it would be so poorly written than The First Jasmine then at this point a lightning just would kill the father and problem solved, the couple can live happy forever. :)

A decent story, script. This is so bad that I couldn't focus to the romance, leads, because the story itself is unbelievable, a mess, and a sort of brain-washing attempt (demons, posession, etc). Absolute nonsense characters. A man who had no remorse for outcasting his wife and child for 8 years suddenly sees his dead wife as ghost? LOL, how suddenly he found his better self.
A basically young but polyhistor (excelling in everything girl - bad enough, how many girls you saw who were like her in real life?) had bad experience with an animal hence she saw tons of them threatening her but only one (a resembling shadow of something else or whatever), she is simply insane or under the influence of Santa's mushroom. Fear doesn't work like this, I had a bad experience with a black dog as child, it visited me for years as nightmare dreams from time to time, I couldn't go near to any black dogs and thought I never would accept any dogs as companion - but I didn't see / imagine tons! of them chasing me.
The whole series is full with absolute nonsense till the level it is unwatchable - for me. Why I bother is because I am upset, I really waited for this drama and to see Bai Lu and Cheng Lei together, wasted time of mine and theirs and who knows how long I have to wait for a decent drama, maybe years.
It feels like this forum is not for normal people but a playground of bored teenagers with zero life experience. Ratings can't be believed and can't help to pick up a drama - which is really bad. I never seen a group of people in front of the Mona Lisa's painting discuss it based on being haters of fans. Back then I've never seen anyone discussing a movie or a book based on being haters or fans. We just pick one, usually if we didn't like the previous works of an author we chose someone else - this is how I choose a drama, based on I liked the previous works of the leads (at least) or the director. But still a book or movie can be poorly written, executed, etc. It has nothing with hate/love, it is just your SICK world.

Sorry, I don't understand your weird world of being a "fan" or "hater" or whatever. For me watching movies or series or even reading a book is not about to like or hate. Of course I like some actors better than others and I'll always appreciated those with talent and hard work. But still watching a movie or series or reading means I want to be entertained, I want the story to flow well, to grab me and pull it on. Even the best writers has good, better and poor novels. Same with movies.
Something is seriously wrong with you all people who are voting based on personal love, then why just not watch your favourites in shows or as models or whatever. A series purpose to entertain, I am not here for nice faces, I am here for the story what should have been written well and should have grabbed me and this is not the case no matter who are the leads. I never understood this chinese(?) thing to form groups and go into fight with each other based on being "fans", it is not my world whether you understand or not. Absolutely childish, it is for people who otherwise probably have no life. Peace.

Sorry I can't recall the exact parts, they come together, there is breakup (sort of), but the romance is not the main or only element. It is a crime, politics, society-criticism, funny sarcasm drama, the first minutes will show you what to expect. Everyone is absolutely grey, very human(ish) with desires, plans, funny personalities or dire ones, I enjoyed it so much I rewatched it at least 3 times. Underrated. There is kissing and bathing together parts but not many.

To me they were very enjoyable, a drama with a decent amount of funny sarcasm, criticism. Indeed rare, I am surprised it survive the accepting process.

Fingers crossed, usually I don't like modern Chinese dramas at all, but for the leads I try to watch this. Overdo and Dancing with the Tide are just so far away, especially the second.

A totally mess nonsense drama wasting 15 hours of my life and after such anticipation I was waiting for it.

Do this magic word "hater" work all the time? If you read my comments you will see that I am not a hater of Bai Lu but a fan, same with Cheng Lei, and feel deeply sorry for them because they can't save this, no matter what. What about the rumour - I read here somewhere - that Bai Lu involved to change the scrip writers? I guess it happened too late if true.

Why should I? Who are you to tell to others to hold back their opinion if that's not the same as yours?

Wow it has such poor reviews in a world when absolutely poorly written, makes no sense dramas are rated between 8-9 that I think I must see this. I watched the first 8 minutes or so on Youtube and it drove me in. I'll give it a try.

I sooo hope we can see her again, excellent actress, I really loved her in LYF and for me she was the only one who made Moonlight Mystic endurable. Was also very good in her tinier support role in JadeWind.

Definitely, it is for intelligent enough people who enjoy a decent story spiced with some romance elements.

Underrated, it was really enjoyable crime, suspense, realistic slow romance drama.

4/10 complete nonsensical mess pushing the demons are real "agenda", even the 2 great actors (leads) can't save it. I don't know who wrote the script (AI maybe?) but it is one of the worst script I've ever seen. And I am not a hater. I think I drop this after the 15th, can't endure more nonsense.

Nothing makes sense in this so called drama, it is a mess of pushing the demons are real nowadays-narrative, there is not one sane people in the drama or hardly any, the script is awfully poorly written, the plot can't be followed. What about the imaginary maid? Did she ever live? Or was imaginary since the beginning? Is the FL mentally ill? And the rest of them (majority) also? What about the father who know sees his past wife as a ghost? What about the elderly clan-leader mother, who allegedly murdered the mother of FL? Since when elderly powerful people personally follow their daughter-in-law just to murder personally using physical strengths and a pillow instead of sending someone trusted? Since when they are fit enough to do it? According to the original drama - I admit I dropped after 100 chapters or so - the FL is only 16 years old, but a genius, polyhistor whatever due to a previous life - that was bad enough to explain how she survived everything but that this? A young inexperienced woman is better than any docs, capable of more, can run faster than martial artists, can use a stick as a martial artist, can come up with complete schemes to get rid of people - she is perfect in everything simply because spent 6-8 years in a mountain academy where allegedly she had to work hard (time consuming) to gather and produce food, to wash the dirty clothes and do everything herself? I doubt I could enjoy this story even after a lobotomy. I don't understand the high rating, it is a 4 at best. I feel so bad for Bai Lu and Cheng Lei, I love both. But Bai Lu at least had some decent(ish) dramas in the past like SKP, Cheng Lei hardly had any recently.

I registered only to be able to comment on this, so upsetting, what a waste of talent of the leads. Nonsense and nonsense and nonsense, I lost focus while trying to watch this again and again.
