The CPR chest compression technique was only developed in the 1950s π Any other normal medieval-life-saving-chinese-medicine technique followed by a "Thankyou for saving me" kiss would've worked πππ
I am absolutely guilty of watching episode 7 multiple times π€£ π€£ and yes, multiple scenes where he just slams her on the floor or the bed and I keep wondering how has she not broken any bones yet π€£
BTW Love your review! It is perfect for this show πππ
It would've been a 10/10 for me but it lost half a point when they used the drone to attack the bad guy. I yelled immediately "that's an expensive device!" The friends were regular civilians and could've just called the police. It's not like the ankle monitor office is the only team on the force.
Both MLs performance is absolutely brilliant π The directionπ The cinematographyπ THE DANCE! π€―π₯ I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this movie ππ₯° My first-ever 10/10 in a movie !
They have been through a lot. You don't expect them to really be over each other like they were in Lian right?I…
See......what you're describing, I absolutely loved reading your take. It's something an author would've described well. But in theatre, you've to show it too.
Changyu's love was easy to understand. My problem is with XZ. That thing you said, "He knew the life of politics and battlefield where even a kin can kill you." I never understood when was this shown. Assuming I'm the dumbest viewer who doesn't understand nuance, why am I being forced to interpret all this? A 1-2 minute flashback would've helped. Or just XZ thinking to himself. Anything that would help put me in his mind so I can understand what he's feeling. Because I never saw any of this. I was only told he's a hotshot thick-skinned Marquis who is slightly sad about losing in the battlefield. The balance of character development weighed more on Changyu.
From what I'm understanding now, there are 2 opposing views on their chemistry (like the 2 of us). It's not hitting the viewers evenly. It's sad but it's true.

Back in Lian (village arc) it felt more like a crush from Changyu's side. XZ is supposed to be this thick-skinned cunning warlord who can never melt in front of any woman. He should've been annoyed by FCY in the beginning but he just automatically fell in love with her. There was no tension depicted in them from the get-go. Only some scenes where they were forced to sleep beside each other. And because of XZ poor character development, we never understood what are his thought. When did the love start? That's why it feels off even now.
This kiss scene certainly improved their chemistry a bit but we'll have to see how it goes from here on out.
Itβs really sad how the chemistry between the main couple has fizzled out. This is what happens when you donβt…
Agreed on the chemistry. The kiss may be a sizzling passionate exchange. But.... there's no twinkle in their eyes. The moment just before the kiss, when you take a deep breath in... Feels like their exhaling instead. Thinking to themselves, "okay here we go, let's move our lips like we practice, pose your body so the camera gets every angel." It's sad because there was never a build-up πͺ they just fell for each other's face card.

Wait for all episodes to come out so you can get a proper review

I think I compare all psychopaths with Old Boy. Everyone else seem like normal psychopaths to me π
Just stab your diaphragm like a normal psycho π
In general, ideology takes 2-3 generations to change. So we might see the same clichΓ©s now. I'm sure 50 years later, there's gonna be an ideological shift where we may get to see a whole different set of clichΓ©s π who knows!
