Then his mom died (because of the job) which made everything pointless. She wouldn't even let him go to her funeral and threatened to erase his history as a cop, aka destroying his life and making him a criminal, if he didn't continue the misson. Han was the one who got Hyun-So out so he could get to the funeral. On top everything, she withheld the information that Han killed his mother.
She's actually the worst one. Driven by greed, she didn't care who she sacrificed to get what she wanted. She didn't want to find the drugs to save anyone, she wanted the recognition.
