Just go and watch it!!!

I am a sucker for thriller/crime/mystery dramas. I especially enjoy the Taiwanese ones, because they are always creative and graphic (all the props look so realistic!). This drama isn’t an exception. It is visible that the team creating it spared no efforts to provide us with a very high quality production.
The acting is amazing, but I expected nothing less from this talented cast. The story is thrilling, I just couldn’t put my laptop down after starting it and I ended up binging the whole thing (never mind that I have exams coming lol).
I kinda knew who was going to be the killer, but this is only because I’ve read too much crime novels.
P.S. I sooooo hope there’s going to be a second season, because I just want to see these actors working together again, but in my heart I know that with this drama it just made sense to end the way it did.

Aaahhhh cutenesssss

I just loved this drama. The actors are both stunning, found their acting really natural. Their chemistry is also on point.
I just loved the vibe this drama has. It’s so relaxing, no unnecessary drama between the characters, villains etc. It is a realistic love story of two childhood sweethearts. ().
Usually I don’t like these types of dramas, but here the childhood sweethearts trope worked well with the whole story and it was a nice addition to the romance.
I am no scientist to give an opinion about the whole "love experiment" thing and its accuracy in real life lol *this is a drama after all* so I don't mind it. I think it was really creative.
I really appreciate that this drama has almost no dubbing at all. It' s a bonus for me: I usually hate dubbing, feels like it takes some of the authenticity of the acting. I prefer the actors' real voices. In the case of this drama, the male lead's voice is amazing, so glad they kept it authentic like that.
The female lead is so cuuuute. I loved her. Usually I find the female characters in such dramas quite annoying, but here she was just such a sweetheart.
The male lead is so handsome. And aaaahhh, again with this voice. I can’t wait to watch him in more dramas.
P.S. I forgot to mention there is, at a certain point, some heavy topics related to family and child-parents relationship. Still, really well done, made me feel even more empathetic towards the main characters.
Really recommend it!

So good

What can I say? I just love these types of Taiwanese dramas!
I was quietly waiting for this one to end so I could binge watch it and oh boy, I am so glad I did, because I don’t know if I would be able to wait so long to find out what happens in the end.
I loved the twisted plot, the chemistry between the characters, their personal struggles, just EVERYTHING. Their stories are so well written and go really well with the plot. Every move they made just made sense to me.
Also I like the fact they managed to show the viewers that not everything is black and white in this world and that people are always hanging between being good and evil. That only one bad deed can turn you into a monster even though you are not one.
This is also the only show where I sympathised with the culprit at one point. I felt really sorry for him.
Overall I think it’s a great show and if you are debating whether you should watch it or not just do.
!!!Keep in mind it has few scenes depicting sexual violence and self harm!!!

Wow…just wow

I am a huge fan of Taiwanese crime/thriller dramas. They just never disappoint. I found this particular one by accident and wasn’t actually planning on watching it, but gave it a chance. And oh, I am so glad I did!

After starting it, I just couldn’t put it down. I am used to knowing how the story is gonna unfold way before the ending is even close. But with this one… you just never know. There were so many twists throughout the show that were so clever and interesting and I never saw them coming. Everything just made sense in the end.

I loved the main characters, especially Yang Chi Hsiao. The acting was really good, the cast did such a good job portraying their characters and made them so realistic. Loved the chemistry.

Amazing show. Maybe the best one I watched in this genre! Go and watch it!

Would have been a good thriller…

I love Yoo Yeon Seok, but this drama was just not it. It started really promising with this great thriller/suspense vibe and at first I quite enjoyed it. Unfortunately after only an episode and a half, the whole drama suddenly turned to a Wattpad cheesy awkward romance with zero logic. The story was so random, so crazy and so unbelievably stupid that I felt second hand embarrassment watching. And mind you, I didn’t even know about the whole drama surrounding this show, because I am not really on the internet all the time (And honestly, I guess I missed the controversial part, because I skipped through lots of boring dialogues and scenes lol).
On the other hand, the acting was great. Both leads are amazingly talented and have been in the industry for a long time. They did their best giving life to these boring, stupid and one dimensional characters. I would love to see them working together again, because their chemistry was on fire in this drama. Honestly, this was the only good thing about this show.

Boriiiing

I really wanted to like this drama. Was waiting for it to air and watched all the teasers and trailers every time IQIYi posted them. I started watching it right after the release and even downloaded the app to have regular updates about it.
Well, I am really disappointed. I like Zhang Linghe, there is no doubt that he is really handsome, but his acting here is not it. Xu Ruohan was better, but the fact that she is dubbed and doesn’t use her real voice made every dialogue she has in this drama kind of awkward and superficial. The chemistry between the two actors was not there for me. They had so many kissing scenes and everything, but they looked forced and superficial. maybe because the storyline was so rushed and poor in logic.
That said, the story was really boring, so much that I had to drop the show around the 20th episode. Otherwise I would have wasted so much time watching something with no value whatsoever. Even til the 20th episode, I tried to skip all the boring and unnecessary parts which left me with like 10 minutes on every episode that were actually interesting and worth watching.
Overall not the best drama in this genre. Everyone in the comments is saying that the drama is relaxing, but I think that’s because it puts you to sleep every time you try to watch it. There was nothing realistic about their relationship, everything was just so perfect and amazing and just so boooooring.

If this doesn’t get a 2 season I am going insane

I was hyped for this drama months before it premiered. I knew it will be a total hit just by looking at the teasers. Iqiyi really stepped up their game with this one.
The drama is just amazing, whatever I write here, it won’t be able to describe how much I enjoyed the story, the characters, the plot twists. You just need to go and watch it for yourself!!!
Unexpectedly I also found a healing aspect in this plot. I lost a family member really suddenly a few years ago and I could empathise with the main lead. I found myself crying numerous times watching all the scenes with his father, because they made me remember what I went through before. Showing the struggles of the family members, the pain from the loss, trying to continue living with this pain… It was so heartbreaking but also healing to watch. I really appreciate this part of the show.
The acting was amazing, I was familiar with the actors before watching the drama so I knew they will ace it.
Stop reading reviews and just watch it already!

It is actually really good

I really like Wang Zixuan and have been watching most of her stuff ever since the release of “Gank your heart”. She has great chemistry with all her male lead partners and this drama is no exception. Her chemistry with Yu Cheng En is crazy. They looked so good together!
The story was also surprisingly great for a romance drama. There were themes I really resonated with, such as overcoming bullying traumas, the fear of loneliness and so on… It actually managed to pull some strings of my fragile heart and I even teared up.
On the other hand, the chemistry was on fire between the two leads. They just look so good together. And I think they both use their real voices which is a plus when it comes to Chinese dramas (I hate it when one of the leading actors gets dubbed, and the other doesn’t, it looks and sounds really awkward. Actually, I hate dubbed dramas in general…)
Anyway… I highly recommend watching this drama. It is really good and criminally underrated. This drama is a breath of fresh air in times when Chinese dramas really aren’t that entertaining and good quality.

Worth it!

I was sceptical about this one. Decided to pick it up after watching the incredible performance of Liu Guan Ting in “Trinity of shadows”. And I am so happy I did. EVERYONE’ performance in the drama was exceptional. I was actually tearing up watching this and usually don’t do that with dramas.
I really liked that it was a trope free romantic story. Everything was realistic, the characters actually felt like real people with real problems, shortcomings and feelings.
The best way to say it is that this drama has a bit more mature look on friendship, romantic relationships and family and it’s a breath of fresh air in the drama industry.
Just loved it!
