Title Story of Kunning Palace

Hey guys! I’m a bit confused. I’m on episode 24 where Ning’er (JXN) and Zhang Zhe were taking a walk after celebrating her birthday . After Ning’er put the flower in his hair and there was a flash back of what happened in the past life. I do not understand why she started distancing herself from him when he didn’t do anything. Can someone please help explain?
