Tian Yao is a dragon DEMON, not a god. He cultivated for as millennium so he was powerful AF but then the antagonist…
"Look, I've regained my magic, yet you've only found your dragon bones. You haven't gotten your magic back"

Magic magic magic. Its NOT magic. Why would MAGIC show up in a xianxia novel. What like, are they Harry Potter or something? Unless ur gonna tell me thats not xianxia thats xuanhuan. STOP westernizing!!

He did seem very authentic, not modernised like a lot of historical MLs are.
Yeah if historians are saying u did an accurate portrayal of a historical figure, thats a lot of honor especially for an actor

Ikr!! In every trailer and promo they kept referring to him as ling long. And why i said yao makes no sense is HOW yao become one. When something is referred to as yao or jing, it usually means they used to be normal animals until they gain a spiritual intelligence. Problem is dragons are ALREADY spiritually intelligent.

And we've seen so so many half asses translations. Like in Love and Redemption especially. Like when they mentioned PanGu, translation said "diety" even tho og said "primordial god" or how they kept translating JunTian CeHai as divine weapon. WHAT divine weapon?? Which one??? Theres more than one divine weapon in there. Even when JunTian CeHai is mentioned separately, translations dont use "hoop" or "hook" like the og used. Im angry bc i dont want international fans to be lied to. You guys deserves the full experience.

Also this reddit post a PERFECT example of lazy ass translators

Dragon isnt the only problem i have with her. Al ot of Translators half assed their things and still ask for patron. I doesn't help that MTL does better job at translating and made it more detailed. Like ive seen one where the fan translation is "the driver" while MTL translator "the driver of the wedding car" doesnt that make sooo much more difference.

Both of them really fit the characters well
From what ive seen of minghao and the bts I would bever doubt his vical performance anyways. And the thing is people like to complain. If actors use their og voice if people dont like THE VOICE itself bot the performance, they'll still complain cuz its not good sounding enough.

U typed xianxia trope right next to dragon, ghost knows you were talking about that novel. But i still dont agree with the wording. Theres a different word all together for demon which is MO or Yao. But calling it a yao makes zero sense

No no no!!! Dragons are different in Chinese mythology and Culture!! They're always respected gods!! Thats in Western culture!!! WE WORSHIP THEM. It makes ZERO SENSE that that translator wrote them off like they're discriminated against or disliked. Dont forgot Xianxia is Chinese. ESPECIALLY in Xianxia that they're are revered. I mean there are tropes where theres greedy characters who wanna kill them for their benefits which is EXACTLY what happened it. Alsonits xianxia so it looks have to be water. Plus not every dragon are water. Theres the ZhuLong and ChaoFeng are fire
Idk which xianxia drama give u the idea that dragons are discriminated against but thats not a trope.
Against if that translator couldn't do their job properly, they should leave it to someone else

U dont get it. Dragons are BENEVOLENT AND REVERED creatures in Chinese culture. It makes PERFECT sense that spirit should be used instead of demon. This is why i dont like these translators. They think whatever is true in WESTERN culture goes in CHINESE or Eastern culture. This translator changed TianYao from a godly being to a demonic one. I cant empathize this enough. This is CHINESE culture not western. Its CHINESE CHINESE CHINESE. Important things should be said three times.

Its like they suddenly change the word Jesus in the og text and decided to translate it as Satan. Do you NOW see what Im saying and why im so pissed?? Like theres a HUGE difference between Jesus and Satan. Readers will think hes Satan when in the og text hes clearlt Jesus
