These screenwriters are apparently vaccinated against giving monster shit parents a proper treatment. They either redeem them for no reason (Love in the Moonlight) or kill them off (Laws of Attraction). Only in probably To Sir with Love they dealt with them with some sense of justice, more or less.

I know but I am getting tired of this excuse. Especially since in real life I know how often these kind of parents are abandoned by their kids in Asia as well as the bare minimum. In South Korea this is particularly rampant. Dramas should stop pandering to this sick tradition.

On Cloud Nine is not a suspense-story but a puzzle-filled psychological drama, yet it keeps you guessing throughout. And it is beautiful, though I am very biased with the productions of MindTrio. To me they always come up with little diamonds. And it is also a valuable record of how excellent actors Meen and Rossi are - whom you only see in supporting roles in big productions.

Smoking in Asia is very common and showing it in dramas is perfectly all right and realistic.
Snowflakes get over yourselves. Dramas are not preachy cautionary instructional.

The same shit was going on with 4Minutes and On Cloud Nine. The BL fandom in general is totally unable to handle anything unusual, complex and mysterious which does not serve everything in a platter and then spoon-feeds them from the beginning. This drama is one of the best of the currently airing ones and the rating is ludicrous as usual.

I have been saying this for a long time but BL genre urgently needs a lot more thinking adult fandom and rather less kids and fangirls whose interest is limited to skinship.
