It is understandable for you to think so. I think he wants to be loved by someone. I think HS will always love SJ, but not as strongly as he used to. When he tried talking to SJ, he was hurt by her rejection. If he knew she rejected him because of NY, he would get annoyed by NY. He feels suffocated because she only wants his attention on her. Even when they were friends, she made most of the plans, and he just went along with them. She is taking away his freedom to choose what he wants to do. Remember, Ma Ri was an absentee mom.
