I think they know they need someone who is talented and also have star power to make there projects popular that's why thay are choosing him, there is some people who are popular but not that much talented and some are talented but not popular he is rare who got both plus Disney+ paying him what he want so it's win win situation for both

And also there have to be compitition otherwise Netflix monopoly gonna make kdrama waste . If there will be compitition then we will get qualified projects otherwise the way people consume anything Romcom then same thing gonna will be with other genre
