Gosh I dont think I can ever find a more strong, independent, and clear communicating woman in another drama. Her entire character is a BREATH OF FRESH AIR. Why? She draws clear boundaries and REPEATS HERSELF.

It's even more hilarious considering 5th Prince's and Xihe's actor/actress were the ML and FL in another romance drama called Royal Rumors. I was like "Oh, guess yall aren't destined in this life :sob:" In that drama, Meng Ziyi was also a Princess Commandery haha so instead of just "Junzhu" it's "Hua Junzhu".

The FL was actually what intruiged me the most. This drama is slow but also fast at the same time because the moments sometimes feel like deja vu and they have a pattern of jumping into scenes then explain later. 2nd couple is slightly more intruiging to me so its really just up to taste.

FL has her own ambitions, thoughts, and intentions as well. Being a "good wife" isn't the same definition for everyone. She's doing everything she can to satisfy ML's needs that are WITHIN her own capabilities and in line with her own ideas. Some may call her stubborn but I call it setting clear boundaries.

I have a thought. Remember the shpeal he gave about him working harder than anyone yet never produced satisfactory results? If he helps Gu Qingshu and she succeeds in the long run, he'll be part of the reason for her success. He knows she has ambitions and her drive is no weaker than his own. Only by going along with her plans can he give himself some purpose. Also, he's probably tired as fuck.

He's sick yes, but there are levels and types of sickness. The poison flares up from time to time so when it isn't flaring up Crown Prince can do as he pleases. He's feigning fatigue and illness when it DOESN'T flare up.

I agree, yes, but personally, the amount of unique characters and refreshing plot points are enough to make up for it.

My thoughts are that he'll stop being (this insanely) clingy when he wins her heart, because then he no longer has to really fight for it knowing she's already "his" ykyk?

Shen Xihe's character is so refreshing to watch. She deals with trouble outright instead of letting it fester, and dominates without even needing to be a strong martial artist. Then there's the Crown Prince that's borderline madly in love. I say borderline because he's THISSSSSS close to being toxic but he's not crossing that line. It's incredible with just that.
