As someone who has read the webtoon, I already knew from the beginning that they were only going to adapt the Minji disappearance arc, Even so, it's one of my favorite arcs in the webtoon, so I was really excited to see it in live action.
Honestly, the casting was amazing. I think they did a great job choosing the actors, and it made me even more excited for the upcoming episodes.
noooo ofc, it waas so good ,It's been such a long time since I watched something this amazing, and I think that's exactly why I don't want it to end. 😭
I've been avoiding the last episodes for so long because of that. Dramas like this raise my standards so much that I struggle to find anything else to watch afterward.
It's not just because the cast is great it's because everything works so well together. The actors did an amazing job, the story is incredible, and the events keep me completely invested. That's why it's so hard for me to finish it
btw, *Viral Hit* is part of the same universe as *Lookism* and *Manager Kim*.
*Lookism* has an anime, which I actually recommend, but I really don't recommend the live-action drama. Personally, it's one of the worst live-action adaptations I've ever seen.
*Manager Kim* recently got a live-action adaptation called *Agent Kim: Reactivated*.
Also, a fun connection: the Taekwondo boy in *Viral Hit*, **Taehoon**, is actually the son of **Seong Hansu**, who is one of the main characters in *Manager Kim*. So all of these series are connected and take place in the same universe.
I honestly don't think a Season 2 is possible, and here's why. Full webtoon spoilers ahead.
First, the drama completely removed a lot of important characters. One of the biggest examples is **Wangguk**. He becomes a very important character later on. At first, you don't know whether he's an enemy or an ally, but by the end of the webtoon, he ends up marrying Rumi. By the final chapters, all of the main cast have also graduated from high school.
Second, the real main conflict in the webtoon is with the yakuza. There are two final villains. The first is **Seong Jun**. Towards the end, you learn his backstory and realize he's actually a tragic character who was manipulated and used by the true final villain.
The true final villain is **Lee Jinho**. He's a complete psychopath. Unlike most villains, he didn't have a terrible childhood he actually grew up in a good family. He simply enjoys violence and crime. A lot of the later story revolves around streaming and live broadcasts because that's how these groups make money and gain influence.
The reason the webtoon is so good is because everything is connected. There are so many details, and every event builds naturally on what came before. Nothing feels random or rushed. That's why I don't see how the drama could make a faithful Season 2 when it already cut so many essential characters and storylines from Season 1.
You're at Episode 33? That's the perfect place to stop. I watched Episodes 34–40 at 1.5× speed, skipped plenty…
i really want to see yu qian qian pov , like how did she's end at that place, from where she's came from and mooore mybe her and qi min in modern life with no toxic relationship
none of them! have same final fight, the webtoon is really good than drama and anime more details and fight and character, also the development of all the characters, villain or weak characters. It's kind of hard to explain without spoiling it.
First of all, yes, the webtoon is already finished. The final fight is similar in some ways, but at the same time it's also quite different.
If I explain the differences, I'll end up spoiling a lot.
What I can say is that I don't think a Season 2 is possible. The characters who would be essential for a second season weren't even introduced in the drama. In the webtoon, they appear much earlier and play important roles, but the drama completely removed them from the story. So it feels like the live action cut that whole storyline rather than setting it up for another season. mybe the anime will have a s2
I've watched the anime, and honestly, it was amazing. It stayed very faithful to the webtoon the art style, the events, the characters, and even the humor felt exactly the same. The only issue is that it only adapted the early part of the story. There are so many arcs and characters later on that they would probably need around 100 eps to cover the entire webtoon properly.
T anime also kept the funny expressions and comedic moments that made the webtoon so entertaining. As for the live action, I think they changed too many events, rearranged parts of the story, and gave it a very different ending while skipping a lot of important content. The one thing I think they got absolutely right was the casting the actors were very well chosen and looked surprisingly close to the original characters
Yeah, I agree. I was really confused by what they did with Rumi's character. In the anime and the webtoon, she was just a normal girl trying to grow her channel. There wasn't any romantic relationship between her and Baku, and she definitely wasn't involved in that whole trafficking storyline. In fact, she was one of the victims and was saved from it. That's why I don't understand why they changed her character so much!!!
Not really. The drama only adapts the beginning of the story, while the webtoon continues much further with many more arcs, characters, villains, and plot twists. There are a lot more antagonists, including a final villain, and the story develops in a completely different way. The only thing that is somewhat similar is that the final fight becomes something bigger involving many people, but it doesn't happen in the arena like in the drama. The webtoon also has a very different ending. I don't want to spoil it because there are many important characters who don't appear in the live-action.
btw, live action adaptations usually struggle to cover all the events from the original story. A lot of great characters from the webtoon didn't appear, which I expected from the start. They would probably need more than 50 episodes to adapt everything properly 😅. Even so, I didn't think it was bad at all. Honestly, I enjoyed it, and in my opinion, it's much better than the live-action adaptation of Lookism.
I agree. Even in the webtoon, it felt like Gaeul had more chemistry with Hobin. They added the scene where Bomi sends him the YouTube link, but in the webtoon it was actually Gaeul from the beginning. By the end of the webtoon, I honestly thought Hobin and Gaeul would end up together.
