It is normal, but seeing how certain folks, were just aghast by that concept, it really brought to surface, that many people aren't allowed , or even expected to keep parts of themselves from others.

The location of this series is wonderful, and the cinematography makes everything look utterly breathtaking.

Sure, it's a bit stupid for you, but for the character of Nuea, I think he actually prefers seeing Toh wearing his glasses, especially when his attention, and focus is on him. Nuea loves knowing that he's physically, and sexually appealing to Toh. He gets a thrill out of knowing that Toh looks at him all the time.

Along with the belief that Kuea should be grateful to have someone in his life, that wants to take care of his every need. Just as long as he remembers to behave.

Also add gaslighting, manipulating, scolding, and ravishing Kuea whenever the mood hits him. Those are his hobbies.

It also reminds me of what us fans do when we collect or purchase items, that are connected to the actors, singers, performers, artists, etc that we appreciate throughout our lives.

Agreed, and I'm glad that Kuea chose the right thing, in not accepting Lian's inappropriate and public marriage proposal.

Kuea has been raised to believe, that having any sort of goal in his life, that isn't focused on his future, as the spouse of his attended, isn't acceptable. That belief has been ingrained in him from childhood. I'm not surprised that he kept up that lie, withheld the truth, put on the "Annabelle" persona for so long. He never was allowed to be his true selve with his parents, so he was never going to be able to let himself trust his future spouse, and now he's placing all that blame on to himself. Which isn't all his fault. Lian is also responsible for how things have ended up for both of them. Remember, he knows everything about Kuea's life, yet chose to not say anything to him. Constantly testing him. No wonder Kuea believes that he's a failure.

Agreed. If (and when) Le Chien actually admits, that he has real romantic feelings for Amber, he won't be able to accept that initially confession of affection. Amber will believe, that Le Chien is confusing his feelings for him, for what he feels for Wen Wen. The "girl" from his childhood. Le Chien will have to convince him, that his feelings for him, are based on who Amber is now. Not who "she" used to be in their childhood. That's why I loved that TPTB named this series, "DNA Says Love You". Their bond is all about who they are, and not about what they are. The experiences they had. Their memories. It goes beyond gender. It's apart of who they are as individuals.

Nope, it isn't bad. I actually cheered. Then when Kuea started placing all the blame onto himself for "shaming" and publicly humiliating Lian, it really proved my thought that this young man, hasn't had any chance at all, to deal with the pressures of how this potential arranged marriage was going to effect his present sense of self.

Well, at that point, Yu He knew that she would never really have a chance at what she's hoped to have with Le Chien since their childhood (him falling in love with her), so I don't think she told him about Amber, so that he would somehow reject him , and choose her in the end. I think that she thinks, that Le Chien "deserved" to be told the truth, due to him pining for their childhood friend, but it just wasn't her place to say anything. She took that right away from Amber. She probably thought that she was being helpful, to both of them.

Yu He (after her talk with her brother), knows that whatever may happen between Le Chien, and Amber, her wish of Le Chien seeing her as more than a "super good friend" will never happen. Never. She has to let go of that wish, so that she can let herself move on, and hopefully find someone else. I don't hate the character, but it was great to have a scene of her acknowledge her feelings of resentment, hurt, jealousy, anger, and knowing that it made her feel horrible for having those emotions against a good friend, that she too also missed.

This episode was really touching. The only thing that bothered me, was having Yu He telling Le Chien the truth about Amber. . I know it was done, in order to continue the storyline, but that was something that was Amber's truth to tell, not hers

Exactly. I mean, Mon basically acknowledged that he knew that Saint always had feelings for him, but never said anything to him. Since their high school days.

I'm glad that So finally got his head, out from his own ass, regarding being honest with Mon, about liking him. I'm sad that Saint got hurt by Mon, not being able to return his feelings, but he never ever felt anything other than friendship for him. I've been a Saint in my high school days. It's painful to not have your feelings returned, and I'm glad that this series had Saint admitting that he could still be friends with Mon, it's just that he didn't want to be friends with him.

I felt for poor Pond. Ugh. It was nice to see the gang, rally around him, in order to try and get his mind off of Amy for that night. It made me think of Oh-Aew, and his college friends from "I Promised You the Moon", and Toh, Som, Jao, and Daisy from "Secret Crush On You".

Hopefully, someone who actually read the novel will respond to your post, because I haven't read it.
