I jumped onboard FORGING JUSTICE tonight after finishing iQIYI’s first Undercurrent Theater drama DEAD OF WINTER.
I have enjoyed both Johnny Huang and Jiang Qi Min dramas in the past but looking down the support cast I see a who’s who of terrific character actors for example Yu He Wei, Ding Yong Dai and Ning Li. I am looking forward to the story.

O/T. Recently (Aug. 4 or 6) iQIYI started airing the crime drama DEAD OF WINTER. 26 episodes about 20 minutes each. It is the first drama in its new Undercurrent Theater drama series. DEAD OF WINTER does NOT have a MyDramaList entry. All 26 episodes are now available. I have watched through episode 24 and found DEAD OF WINTER a compelling crime drama with very good performances. 2 other upcoming Undercurrent Theater dramas have been announced: 1. VI GROUP OF FATAL CASE 2. THE MURDER TRUTH (which has a MDL entry). Weird.
Finished DESCENDING STORIES: A LIFE IN RAKUGO tonight. A wonderful drama with a great cast but I am in awe of Okada Makasi’s performance. His character ages from a late teen during the war years to age 70 in 1995. Masterful performances for a 29 year old actor at the time. Thank you for introducing me into the world of Rakugo.
Ray Cheung is main lead in iQIYI’s new Undercurrent Theater crime drama IN THE DEAD OF WINTER. I hope an entry for this drama will soon appear on MyDramaList.
Completed tonight. UNSETTLED CASE is a very good addition to Youku’s White Night dramas. That being said I think I enjoyed the first case (Jewelry Store Robbery) better than the second case (Bian Inn Robbery and Murder). Don’t get me wrong. They were both interesting but in the first case Yue Yun Pen (who played the reporter ) really was outstanding.
Finished tonight. Another very good addition to iQIYI’s Suspense Theater dramas. The subject matter in the past reminded me of the 2025 Tencent X Theater drama LIGHT OF DAWN.

@roddib, somehow I missed iQIYI’s INSEPARABLE in June. With the last 3 episodes of Youku’s UNSETTLED CASE blocked off with Express status I will jump into this drama. Like, @bubble your imprimatur (or kabosh lol) to a crime drama is a good indication about quality.
Time reference. Late 1995. In episode 14 during the Bian Inn murder investigation reference was made to the recent Jewelry Store robbery and murder. Both incidents occurred close together time wise.
