I've no problem with anything that has occurred. The four boys end up sleeping in the same room. Teh sleeps on the floor, Fah above him on the bed and next to him, Toh, with Jimmy next to him. Fah slips off the bed to sleep next to Fah, to whom he had earlier confessed and they kissed. Jimmy awakes and sees them being intimate, wakes up Toh, who asks what's wrong, Jimmy asks for a hug, is obliged and they fall asleep. All fairly innocent. Jimmy realises he has no chance with Fah as he has a crush on Teh, but he remains cautious with Toh, whom he finds very cute. The pace is slow, quiet and deliberate. Just as it should be.
Although not a BL, this was in many ways an exceptional series due to the portrayal of all the gay characters in the boys' volleyball team, some of whose individual stories of what it's like to be gay in a straight world and confronting homophobia were shown in a way that I haven't seen before and added more depth and characterisation to the story. As it progressed, one could see that there would be no romance between Uno and Jared. What we had instead was a burgeoning romance between Uno and Jarrad's cousin Farrah, and hovering in the background until the final episode, when it was finally announced to no one's surprise, was that between Jarrad and the tall, handsome Ethan. It was only recently that the series was put on YouTube, which I binge-watched over two days. The cast was uniformly good, there were no extraneous characters as in so many Pinoy series, though, of course, as it progressed, there were a lot of emotional/weepy scenes, the dialogue was realistic and flowed well, it had high production qualities and lovely cinematography, but the only weak element was the background music, which mostly needed more body to it. Overall, a great watch.
Saying that Revenged Love and To My Shore are two very different BL series is patently obvious. I enjoyed the former show a little more than this one, but both are truly excellent. Fan Xiao insinuates himself into You Shulang's life, and love quickly develops with an electric intensity, but it turns toxic due to Fan Xiao's lies and behaviour. For the last third of this series, it was all angst, anger, strong emotions, and full-on drama. You Shulang engineers the downfall of Fan Xiao, who then undergoes something of a metamorphosis. Despite everything, they can't keep away from each other. Fan Xiao wants so much to reconcile, but at the same time, vows to leave him for good, but it is not to be. You Shulang visits Fan Xiao with the express intention of making up with him, whose desire for him is still as intense as ever. It comes as no surprise that they'd once again become boyfriends. Indeed, it is inevitable. The lead-up and resolution were done just right. Chinese BL has now set a new standard that is hard to beat.
The story was a mess, at times illogical and the motivations were often unclear. I didn't like the ending. If it weren't that the two leads were attractive, it wouldn't be worth watching.
The trouble with Minato is that he's very insecure and his feelings for Shizuma fluctuate between hot and cold. Really, Shizuma is a saint for putting up with all of this, but he's head over heels in love with Minato, so he's in a bind. There's no easy answer to any of this. We'll just have to wait and see how the writers give us the expected happy ending.
It's all too much. Hioki and Watari together are the most adorable, love-struck couple that I've ever witnessed and who are cautiously inching towards a kiss, but at least the dual confessions are out of the way. It's great their friends are so supportive but their timing when Watari was about to kiss Hioki in the artroom sucked big time. Their first proper kiss is being drawn out with agonising slowness. Please, please, let it be next week.
It's a little confusing at times but overall I liked this. The two leads are equally adorable and have excellent chemistry. They are perfectly suited to each other, and one has a sense that they actually love each other, a love that goes beyond the acting.
Unusually, the first episode of this new series didn't grab me that much, though the acting and production were up to the usual high standards. Nevertheless, I'll certainly keep watching and I'm likely to become more invested in it as the series progresses.
I would Kill to be in that world, he is so lucky 😭
Where other than Japan, the originator of Boy Love, would one go to BL University... but it begs the question, why does this pathologically straight dude go here when there are so many others to choose from?
I have a feeling that Jerome not telling jinn about the fact that he saw jinns dad coming back in one of his visions…
In fact, Jerome frequently leaves out the incidents he sees in his dreams, from barely describing them to saying nothing about them. It's understandable when they're always car accidents and the like. It is odd though that the cars they drive, all late models, don't have air bags which would prevent facial injuries.
After the falling out, it is always so heartwarming to see two boys reach an understanding and make up. They are both adorable and so in love with each other.
the way I screamed when Watarai accepted that he likes Hioki. Hioki had been suspecting the same for quite awhile…
You screamed, I let out an enormous 'Yay!', I was so stoked that Watari said those three magic words to Hioki, "I like you." It took a while, but it had to happen eventually. Mind you, they were both leading each other on. All it took was Hioki to prompt Watari into confessing. Oh, the agony of waiting for another week.
Ep. 9 is the calm before the storm. Than makes up with Pheem. They kiss and spend the night together, then each proposes marriage which is duly performed and celebrated in a simple ceremony. They swear never to leave each other. But... 1) There's no way Mr Thanet could have survived the shooting - the bullet went straight to his heart. 2 ) Yet again, Than appears in the nick of time to whisk Pheem away from the family mansion after the shooting. What was he doing being there in the first place, considering he'd told Than he wouldn't rescue him again, even to save his life - which is what he just did. 3) Risa is the supreme opportunist. With her father dead, she wants to play Chet off with Pheem, hoping they'll both be soon out of the picture so she can take over the hospital, but that's not a given, as that's up to the Board, and she was never considered important anyway. I don't think she'll get her way. If Pheem wins the final battle, he'll probably banish her. 4 ) Even more than taking over the hospital, Chet is obsessed with taking down and killing Pheem, who he thinks murdered his mother, which he didn't. The preview for the final episode shows Chet once again pointing a gun at Pheem. At this point, I hope Than makes a further miraculous appearance and shoots Chet dead, because I don't know how Pheem will survive otherwise. 5) Who will ultimately become Chairman of the hospital? Will Pheem and Than have their happy ending? I, for one, hope they do.
