Whew...............worth a watch BUT.........!!!!

Dark and gritty and surreal in its realism. Do not go into this expecting a clean concise nicely tied up ending or happiness or everyone getting their just desserts.........this was a sad piece from start to finish. From the way the case was handled inside and IRL, this was rough~
That darkness was neverending. It felt like just a clinical retelling of the events and the precedents and/or the beginnings of precedents established then and in the near future. It felt like a piece 5 or 6 years ago, it was about introducing the art of criminal profiling and how it was eventually installed within SK as well as the world eventually~
They did a wonderful job with the music too and how it conveyed that sappy good ole boy growing up together in a small town setting. The theme song to Weak Hero Class. Goblins OST. Uncanny Counter. It was perfect.
I like how it ended, it was perfect in that the ending wasn't perfect. Like Trolley or Queen Maker, something along those lines. Confident enough to say this is worthy of a watch~

Just wasn't feeling it.

It really couldn't keep my attention. I never had that "I can't wait till the next episode" feeling. I had actually forgotten about it after 3 episodes and but remembered it when I saw my que.
Cast is fine but the characters themselves were boring and one dimensional and unable to draw investment from me. Not a fan of this older kind of production so it's visuals looked pretty bad but that's just me. It's presented in the "I want to be the next Godfather" masterpiece but falls short on every aspect. I have no interest in seeing part 2 and will give it a hard pass.

Worth a View BUT..........

I'm not finished just yet but I've been a fan of this actress for awhile now. (I am now) The roles she takes on haven't really deviated from drama to drama and I see this as a reflection of that. I think this is her niche, her forte, but the door is open for to take on anything. Residents Playbook, Law School, AOS2, and a top5 favorite of all time in Moving. Solid resume and then some.

Having said that, I've got some mixed feelings about this drama but I'ma and hope to finish in a couple days. Lot of stuff just to watch today alone but want to wait for wife since we started this one together. Kdramas are just one of our things. Hope to finish soon. 1/16

Edit Completed
Entertaining. Films and dramas with MP (Multiple Personalities) usually generate amusement and horror, laughter and shock, love and hate. Reason being mps are always hiding and protecting something within. Rom coms like this are good watches. Usually involve healing factors and nice happy endings. Is that what happens here? Watch and find out~
Solid cast. Some CGI. High quality visuals from locations all around EU. Unusual story but passable. Netflix always go all out for works they take on, create, build, or are a part of because there's a guaranteed viewer base of millions~
I'm a decent fan of this actress. I love the way she emits emotions through facial expressions w/o speaking~
While I was ok with the story, I found the performances of both leads to be lacking. Chemistry is a word I don't like to use because it's said 24/7........but it was lukewarm at best. And it was only apparent when FL was in her alternate personality. ML looked and felt stiff and unyielding the entire drama from his looks to his speech. All one dimensional even when we knew there were times he was supposed to be showing and conveying something else. You can't have that when your the face of the drama. So in a sense, acting was what harmed this drama despite the cast and everything else being top notch. It turns this into an expensive but mediocre drama~

JUDGE FAIRLY!!!

I just wanted to say that this actress has a LOT of fans which is great. But she's got a bunch of those diehard "speak no evil" fanatics who are the types to hunt ppl down and chastise across the web. Y'all know what I'm saying lol. All I want to see and hear as we dive into this are fair, non bias breakdowns and remarks that aren't do to what she's done in the past. At least that's what I'm asking for! Let's see what the leads and the story give us!! :)
And no, these are not my ratings yet, I just plugged the #'s randomly.

Final Edit
Kind of at a loss for words. This actress has a unique style you will either love or hate. Comments are either favorable or deplorable. Her 'charm' or talent or w/e you want to call it is the ability to spit a 100 words per min like a machine gun. It's her norm. Efforts to slow it down kind of make it look like she's grasping for the correct words to speak, unsure of what to say w/o deliberateness being apparent. Her style has never changed while moving forward on different dramas. I think this is good for comedic roles but poor for roles requiring romance and sincerity. She had a historical role a few years ago I thought was perfect and I liked her in it~

But THIS pair did not work. There was not one shred of chem from start to finish. Watching the leads bicker was very amusing at first. But it quickly became tiresome when it became apparent that there was no spark whatsoever. Every episode seems to degenerate into huh? What? And? And the HEEEEEY!!?!! being said by FL 10x over the course of the episode as Lomons character walked and talked circles around her constantly putting her in her place. The story wasn't compelling. I never had that 'omg I can't wait until the next episode' feeling that you get when you're wanting more~
This wasn't a bad drama and idk exactly why it didn't work. I just know that it didn't. It won't be remembered for anything other than failing to stand up to its predecessors. I wonder if it's because the 9 tails in the two most talked about dramas were males? This doesn't have to be rushed to be taken in. Do it at leisure. It will burn a few hrs at least. But don't expect anything that's on par with the normal solid traditionally sound stories Kdramas are known for~

Mediocre at best~

Everything was meh. I found myself lacking any emotional investment with all characters. The fact that it was a story about the IMF was what held my attention because it gave viewers a glimpse into the hardships (individuals, families, and businesses alike) the country suffered during this time.
But nothing else stood out for me

There are some flames where the smoke is........

Let's be honest. This was hyped up well before release because of KHY still riding high from Lovely Runner. The same thing was done for Tale of the No Tailed and the results are kind of in the same vicinity.........but........and let me be clear, this was NOT the dumpster fire that drama was~
Gone was the lack of chemistry, very poor acting, and the interest in viewing the next episode. We got to see a KHY minus the machine gun speech that her fans consider a major part of her *charm* in addition to her beauty. I'm am NOT her fan but I felt the serious and realistic and fearful KHY who took time to think about decisions and whatnot was pretty good to take in. With no bs love story anywhere to be found, she and the cast fed off each others performances in most of the scenes rather well and I liked it~
A nice freaky little soundtrack with well placed CGI and great makeup for the *monsters* and that's where my praise stops. The story hits you, or doesn't hit you you could say, with disjointed scenes and explanations that made no sense, it was very difficult to follow but the ending was predictable because illusions played heavily into horror factor of the film. There's potential for another film but if it's going to be successful, it really needs to go lore heavy to have a better impact~
The film is ok, the visuals and sounds make it worth seeing via a theatre. If the story had been cleaned up some, I think it could easily have been a 9/10~

Forecasting a 100% chance of Rain~

Of course it was violent. Of course it was bloody. Of course there were dipictions of mindless cruelty. Of course it was full of omg, wtf, did that just happen, holy shite, are you kidding me moments!! It's Not a drama for the faint of heart. It was brutal. There was torture. But It was also matched with scenes of kindness, the pain of loss, brotherhood, and the bonds of friends who have become irreplaceable family~
And acting doesn't just come down to saying a few lines while walking around. The action was absolutely insane. What's that phrase. High octane? And we're talking about multiple, extended fight scenes all around. Wasn't just the two leads, there was a shite ton battles on the side by supporting cast members as well. Had some surprising cameos.......and the one in ep 7 was very unexpected .........and f'n awesome~
This one had to live up to the raw adrenaline of the first and it was accomplished. The only thing I saw was that with the international mix being added, how many battle scenes could have been solved with a few guns?? As in the 1st, there were a couple things guns could've resolved but oh well.
It was action, acting, and more action. Very entertaining watch~
Hints of a season 3???..........

Highly Amused~

Hmmmm.........I thought it was good. Wife loved it too~
Episodes 1 and 2 set the stage. If you never read the synopsis or saw the stills for the drama, or didnt know anything at all, those 2 eps immediately let you know what kind of drama to expect upon viewing~
Pure comedy...........this drama spared no expense at ripping, ridiculing, making fun of, and destroying all of the tags and themes that are associated with the rom com genre with no mercy. You'll know exactly what I mean by EP 3. It was freaking hilarious. They took shots at ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. I didn't feel there were any attempts to do much other than have a few giggles~
Think about all the different kinds of scenes dramas use when they introduce love interests with all the genres out there. We've seen them over and over again and we holler cliche. That's not the term they used. It was classic. And from there on, the drama sets forth on recreating those classic introductions and tags in the name of comedy. There was an end credit scene in ep 6 or 7 that made me bite my tongue laughing. 🤣😖
Cast was solid. Jisoo doesn't have the kind of weight associated with strong FL's just yet, a little bit underwhelming but I think she's been getting better with each passing performance while ML is more or less a certified star. Supporting cast was loaded with familiar faces and there was a large number of cameos with stars that have a number of their own dramas as leads themselves. This was NOT a cheap production by any means~
I don't have anything negative to say about this piece. It wasn't made to win awards, it was made to deliver laughs and that's exactly what it gave my wife and I. It's a worthy watch~

Ehhh...............Edit 1/10/'26 Dropping

So.............2 episodes are in the book.........from what's available, we got a fangirl fangirling over her favorite idol whose secretly been a source of strength and life in her little world unbeknownst to him with ties to and from childhood that he doesn't remember just yet, rooting him on from the shadows.......and wants to save him the way he secretly saved her. Or something like that.

A lovely but minor attempt at running something back comes quickly to mind. Good lord.........you can't get any more cliched than this. Guess that's why it's a Mon-Tues piece. I am NOT impressed at all. But this type of drama has a strong viewing base amongst Kdramas fans.
For me, it struggled to keep my attention and her frequent, mindless monologues just kept putting me offset for some reason. But w/ just 2 in, it's not right to dismiss this just yet. Let's see what happens next week.
1-10-'26 Edit
Had to catch up before next episode. Still not impressed. Clingy ex's. The 'love' interests are messy as hell but not surprising with the ppl around the leads or just outside their circle. Friend Zone vs hot ML for the lady's attention. Hidden childhood link. FL's constant 24/7 droning monologues. No side stories worth paying attention to. It's all zzz, vanilla and the leads are not strong enough to carry with a script this bad. Adios to this sleep fest~

Perfection

This is hands down one of the greatest if but greatest zombie flicks ever created. Real life and high school life combine for a fantastic drama. I cannot praise the realism dipicted and how it led to all sorts of decisions and kind shattering moments from the adults and the teens portrayed. Chemistry flowed like water down a river on all fronts. Music and makeup and the sounds immersed you as if you were front and center~
I've watched this 8x and there's very few who can compete with this piece as a drama. I love Zombies, I love horror, and I love when it's combined with full on eotw scenarios. Kingdom was a solid drama and thia smoked it~
I know S2 will not be able to live up to the 1st run but I'm still expecting another hit~

Eye for an Eye..........

What happens when the system fails? DOWN WITH THE SYSTEM!!! EYE FOR AN EYE!!!
If only the monstrous deeds done IRL were punished in the same light. It's only a dream for now. But this drama gives life to the hope the same could be done in the future~
The similarities to Juvenile Justice were nice albeit that one was more heavy and more criminalistic in nature by the end but the same theme. Putting kids in their place and if they cannot reform, put them away~
An organization dedicated to righting wrongs in the educational system. The main characters had dark stories behind their organizations forming. The cases they were tasked with encompassed all sorts of misdeeds done knowingly by teens and the occasional teachers and adults with influence outside like to overbearing parents. So all involved different approaches~
This was engaging and impossible to put down. Cast all played their parts to perfection. The hard nosed attacks was refreshing during a time IRL where kids are coddled and get away with anything. This is a must watch and could easily warrant a second run like Taxi, Crash, and Bloodhounds~

What did you feel? ?

I've a pair of girls ages 12 and 10. As a father, this was difficult to get through as violence against women and children literally makes me sick to my stomach.
This drama was able to invoke almost the entire range of human emotions I'm, if not all of them. That means everything from the story to the acting was done at a very high level. It was dark and gritty. I don't think I can say what hasn't been conveyed in the reviews that came before June, so I just want to vent.

Morality, I don't think there's much to say explain. The villains were wrong. The retaliation was wrong. I did not feel good at the end of this piece because I wanted the suffering of the bad peeps to last much MUCH longer. What I saw as far as "justice" felt exactly about along the lines of what happens IRL Punishments, if any is actually given, NEVER fits the depravity of such crimes involving women and children. It's why vigilantism, whether it's for multiple ppl or just a one time thing, is becoming real. You do NOT deserve 2nd chances. Most of its being done by men since repercussions are a joke. There's no "accidents" with this stuff. Booze and drugs also should never provide mitigation either like it does in South Korea and other countries. One count SA and your done, physical or chemical castration. If it's a child, life In prison on top of it. Murder? Take a life, lose your own. Period. Barbaric? So we're the crimes.
W/e the case, this drama is going to hit you HARD in a lot of places. I'm not sure what you'll be feeling at the end. I've only watched a handful of dramas from this country as I'm more driven to watch Kdramas and Chinese historicals. But this is/was a SOLID watch~

Zzzzzz

Halfway through episode 5 and I was done. I had reached too many points where I lost track of what ppl were saying, what was going on, or flat out missed entire scenes and needed to go back. There's no hope of finishing if you find yourself in that state~
PBY is a phenomenal actress but the story was so incredibly out there from the beginning that it had no hope of establishing a base start from in order to fan into reality. It's a drama ya but bars of gold, international and domestic smugglers and gangs, body counts piling up, and a little itty bitty who s poo ends her time being smashed and bashed around trying to keep and protect this misbegotten loot doesn't cut it for me with an actress of this caliber and I'm pretty sure it won't for many~

Its BAAAACCCKK!!! Final Edit 1/10/26

Its pretty rare when Kdramas we really like get a second run let alone a 3rd. This is picking up where it left off. Only one in and I am absolutely loving it. His characters when going undercover have me dying in laughter. I didn't know if anything would top his country boy hick character from season 2 but I bit tongue laughing at his second persona of the episode. 😖 I think this is going to do well!!

Edit 12/28
Yeah.....this has been solid. I'd even wager it's safe to say this could merit a 4th run. It's not always about the baddies being put away or the dystopian social injustice issues they're doing their best to recompense. For me now, it's pretty much about what type of persona our guy here will adopt in taking them down. Which is why given the creativity we've seen through the entire drama run, that 4th or 5th run could actually become reality. In any case, the drama has rocked once again, if it has to end that's ok. Better to end strong.

Edit 1/10/26
Phenomenal drama as always. Last two episodes I was blown away because we finally got a good fat huge chunk of Driver Kim's back story as the case was directly tied to him. So yea, this could have a 4th run but this ended STRONG. Maybe it's best not to jeopardize it. But in any case, I loved it. 🥰

I'm sold. Edit 12/25

The synopsis hides no illusion on what this piece entails and I'm glad because it makes me less critical. I'm content to sit and watch. Only thing I'm not liking is the FL's eyes wide open in dismay/shock every 20 min or so. Kind of annoying 😅
I do find myself annoyed at her for stacking lie on top of lie on top of lie when ML's temperament shows he would most likely understand and forgive her if told the truth.

Edit
Completed. Again, np with this piece because they flat out told you what it would be. Award winning? Hell no. Entertaining but it's just a mid. The relationship on the side held more interest for me. If I was to truly harp on something, it would be that inferiority complex they like to instill in supporting cast members such as the half sister and/or other employees, that kind of thing.
This isn't a must watch as far as viewing but it can occupy few hrs if your truly bored.
