Its the same timeline but the plot and main leads are different.
UWMA is about DeanPharm and InKorn
BU is about WinTeam.
But since both stories are intertwined they kinda show a lot of DeanPharm storyline so we won't get lost and the scenes won't have loopholes since Win is Dean's best friend and they are president and vice president of the swimming club and Prem is Pharm's best friend too.
So you can't really have one without having the other.

Yup agreed, at first we all thought that wasn't going to be necessary cause in the novel it isn't but here, they are intertwining both stories very well. You can watch one without watching the other but it won't make sense

Honestly, I didn't think it would be necessary, but they are doing some (important in my opinion) recaps about DeanPharm (InKorn) that if you hadn't watched UWMA it won't make much sense.
For WinTeam there is no need to watch but for DeanPharm, it will help.
