I am still enjoying Zhang Linghe. He is a good actor. Beautiful way his eyes show is character’s feelings. If you do not like his role, well, there’s not much he can do with the role and dialogue given to him. Perhaps the writing could have been better. The idea of a Republican era drama has always fascinated me but has always disappointed me. Plots generally follow the same theme: powerful families fighting each other; some wronged female seeking revenge; some obnoxious female that nobody likes; poor sound quality, film quality and sets that often don’t quite mimic the time of the drama. I was hoping this one would actually surprise me due to its star power but so far it hasn’t. How can they do such wonderful costume dramas but fail so completely with Republican era? Maybe it will get better???
i've always been quite neutral about taec as an actor but i'm feeling so proud of him here, definitely his most…
Taec has really proven himself in this drama. I have no words that appropriately describes his acting. Such words as superb, amazing, spectacular just are not enough.
This drama absolutely took my breath away. It is the best drama I have watched in a very long time. It is not just about sexuality but about the pain and the regrets and the joy we all experience in our lifetimes. The writing was superb; the directing was superb; the acting was phenomenal. Both MLS deserve whatever prestigious awards for acting that there is. Both mls and Fl brought me to tears. Good job-thank you.
Am on ep 6 and so still loving it. Cha Eun woo is so good. His facial expressions and how he conveys his character’s emotion with his eyes. Spectacular. He is a good counter balance to Park Eun Bin. No romance but still chemistry. Ep 5 made me laugh so hard! Want another season!
OMG! So good. Great combination of comedy and thrills. Liking the entire cast particularly Cha Eun Woo. He plays off the comedy perfectly and adds a certain pizazz to the slap stick. So good.
Love ml and fl and have always enjoyed song Wei long. Found the story a bit boring and often fast forwarded out of the business scenes. The business talk is so uninteresting. Romance scenes just ok. Too few and far between. Also, kissing scenes need work.
I’m afraid I have to agree with most of you. The plot moves slowly with little depth. Development of each characters background is shallow to nonexistent which also affects the chemistry between the actors which is a shame. These are good actors but without a stronger storyline they don’t have a chance to show it. Mr. Park has the most interesting character but so far very little screen time. The fight choreography is lacking- I’ve seen several missed punches.
Overall I enjoyed the drama and loved the acting. But, the final episode was anticlimactic and disappointing. Was this poor editing or did the writers just get tired?
