I myself found it quite easy to watch and in fact got so absorbed that I had no awareness of the time. So I believe that according to the commentators it was an easy watch for the majority. It could've been more difficult for you as maybe you didnt watch the film at the right time. I find that the best time to watch things are when you are in the mood for it, so it could've been that you weren't. It could've also just been that this movie wasn't for you, so it's normal to have not enjoyed it I guess.

babe you've only watched 25 minutes of it. I strongly implore you to watch the whole thing before you make such a strong judgement.

If you were to continue the film you may like it or may not. I myself found it to be very thought provoking and a really painful story on how the nurturing of three teenagers affected their way of navigating through life. The religious subtext also provided a great interpretation on the blurred line between obssession and passion. I assure you that you haven't seen enough; you've only skimmed at the surface.
I do believe that even as a joke you should follow through with the film. Even if it may not be your cup of tea, you are sure to have some admiration for the film.
