It's too soon to start rambling!
After hurling insults at me on WoF, JK-L008 following me from one drama page to another drama page to insult me demonstrates deliberate intention to cause distress/drive away another MDL user for sharing praise and enthusiasm for "Shadow Punisher", and their behaviour is the textbook definition of harassment. It's impossible to take offence at what I shared, unless one is trolling. I thought they were harassing me but not you, and now you're saying JK-L008 harassed you first?

I haven't looked at the links. Will revert.

When WoF was experiencing its worst trolling in November and December 2026, several of us had to deal with multiple vicious accounts sharing misleading information about WoF that also spontaneously attacked users such as myself with multiple personal insults, whenever we spoke positively about the drama. Otherwise I wouldn't have made so many new friends on that page such as you and kwanto, less than 7 months ago. Nobody likes serial bullying and harassment from the likes of JK-L008. What's next, JK-L008 trying to police who befriends me?

JK-L008 is doing the same on this "Shadow Punisher" page as per their behaviour on the WoF page. They still can't accept reality.

It just drops without announcing air date or proper promos first? Is it how they treat to the bromance type of…
IQiyi has a serious cashflow issue throughout 2025 and into this year, so it isn't surprising when they have an issue with marketing. IQiyi has left some of us guessing since Q42025 about certain dramas.

At least 6 episodes are out.

[ Joining him are strong actors including Lu Keran, Fang Yilun, Shen Yujie, He Hongshan, and Ma Wenyuan! ] - You disagree with praise for the main cast of this drama. Why are you here?

Oh that's right, I'll just repeat what I said to you more than 6 months ago, when you kept harassing me:

I know you want my attention, and I'm flattered, but seriously: Please get a life. Quit fixating on A-Shui and the fact that people disagree with you about Lin Yun. You are coming across as something very sad.

It's never too late to touch grass and get back to reality where we are. It's interesting how your account was created on 2 September 2025 but voices a bone to grind with Azure more than a year ago from today. And you'll always be stuck on episode 25 of WoF.

But if you want to deal with this drama like you did with the other drama, at least people can see for themselves. I hope you can remember characters in this drama are all fictional, and I hope you can accept that you're not married to Luo Yunxi. Shadow Punisher, just like the other drama, has no CP.

And if you still won't accept basic facts, I seriously hope you get the professional help you need.

Why hasn't her page updated yet with her new drama?
I submitted a change of the mandarin title to the official one (not the one you see now) plus a synopsis, and also commented on the meaning of the actual Mandarin title:

[《春禾之上》 can be understood as "Above The Spring Seedlings": The first reality-themed drama series in China focusing on prosecutorial work related to minors and judicial protection of minors as per prosecution organs of the state, whereby real cases are used to show the growth difficulties and social responsibilities of teenagers. Law professor Ji San Mei joins the Juvenile Prosecution Department of Jihai City as a pre-inspection prosecutor. She works with her friend, criminal police officer He Liang, to protect minors. Title Shadow Punisher Spoiler
For more insight into "Shadow Punisher":[ Set against the backdrop of the Hongyun era when the dynasty…
[Li Si, with a dual identity and a political intrigue storyline, appears on the surface as the carefree "Young Master Qingyang," but is actually the fourth prince, Zhou Yan, who is investigating the truth behind the royal massacre. He infiltrates the Divine Detective Bureau, forming a detective team to solve eight major cases, including puppet mechanisms and Miao witchcraft, gradually uncovering the conspiracies intertwined between the court and the martial arts world. The character carries a self-awareness disorder, and the psychological arc from being lost to awakening is the core highlight. ] - https://x.com/kngyunxiyiran/status/2032780501430505618

For more insight into "Shadow Punisher":

[ Set against the backdrop of the Hongyun era when the dynasty collapsed, the drama unfolds across eight eerie cases such as ‘Powdered Skull’ and ‘Worldly Demon,’ weaving in chilling folk elements like ritual masks, puppetry, and poisonous gu, deeply intertwined with the treacherous court intrigues to create a distinctive Chinese suspense aesthetic.

The character design is especially fresh, Luo Yunxi plays Li Si (Qingyang) , who appears gentle and frail but is actually an undercover investigator secretly probing the sudden death of the Fourth Prince. With brilliant chessboard-like thinking, he unravels the mystery step by step, even risking himself to set traps and expose the mastermind. Joining him are strong actors including Lu Keran, Fang Yilun, Shen Yujie, He Hongshan, and Ma Wenyuan!

The entire series focuses on hardcore investigations, with all characters devoted to their missions zero romance distractions, pure strong reasoning and thrilling plotlines. It also features highly creative 360 degree wire fu combat choreography, sharp and exhilarating, making it a spectacle not to be missed. ] - https://x.com/kngyunxiyiran/status/2062145701291942384

Title Red Flame
No Synopsis???
Official title of《春禾之上》which can be understood as "Above The Spring Seedlings" is the first reality-themed drama series in China focusing on prosecutorial work related to minors and judicial protection of minors as per prosecution organs of the state, whereby real cases are used to show the growth difficulties and social responsibilities of teenagers.

(春禾 refers to sowing seeds in spring and harvesting in autumn, from an agricultural perspective. The drama title alludes to the power of justice to protect young people who grow like seedlings.)

I submitted further edits plus a synopsis that isn't what I have explained to you here, so let's see what happens. This drama is produced by Tencent in conjunction with the Center for Film and Television of the Supreme People's Procuratorate ie SPP: https://en.spp.gov.cn

The CFT of the SPP is the premier official media production arm of PRC's highest legal supervision organ.

So excited for Dai Xu! Great birthday present for Tan Songyun! Filming is underway!

I watched 20 episodes and put this on hold. Think I'll just drop it.
Thanks for watching! My recommendations for anyone is to watch at least the first ten episodes and check out the reviews pertaining to Buddhism about this drama. I expect a certain drop rate for this drama on MDL, given its specific audience focus and choice of no-romance scripts rooted in ancient classical chinese literature by the ML that will likely be continued, when historical costume suspense wuxia drama "Shadow Punisher" airs later this year.

We need a eng title
"Just In Time For Spring" is the literal closest approximation. Lovely romantic connotation in mandarin, of things happening at the right time while full of vitality and hope. But without an official poster bearing an English name, you can't change the title on MDL.

When the production comes up with an English title, I hope it at least sounds close enough to the actual meaning and includes "Spring".

WoF appeals to non-romance drama fans with its Buddhist-rooted heroism, explaining why it became the most-watched…
People tend to mistake Luo Yunxi as being at least ten years younger than his actual age. He will turn 38 on 28 July. That's lovely praise for him, thank you!

I wish there was an MDL feature to explain the meaning of this title, as part of the synopsis. The drama title itself is very unique unlike other drama titles for xianxia and xuanhuan dramas, being completely rooted in ancient chinese literature. It's such an amazing treat for chinese viewers who have been waiting (almost forever) for a drama that melds xianxia and xuanhuan genres yet features strong classic wuxia themes. "Whispers of Fate" as a title has almost-zero depth compared to the original mandarin title of also three words. English titles of C-dramas tend to leave me puzzled or amused, given an over-usage of words such as "Glory" and "Blossom".

My review includes sharing the chinese elements of traditional opera and ci poetry that the drama title originates from, which I am sure no other MDL review does because I'm watching it with very different lenses of being able to grasp the philosophies and explain Tang Lici's choices using mandarin specifics.

Others who have a Buddhism background include Mizuhira-san, which is a key theme of this drama. Also explains why SLY broke viewing records on Monomax Thailand for a chinese drama.

This is not a wuxia drama. A lot of wuxias these days are modern wuxia, and I'm not fond of those. I prefer classic wuxia or strong wuxia themes.

Here is my explanation of the origins of the actual title meaning:

https://mydramalist.com/755725-shui-long-yin#comment-26008490

水龙吟literally means “Water Dragon Intonation” or “Water Dragon Chant”. It can be viewed as the name of a poem but is typically understood as a the name of a lyric meter pattern that dictates the structure, rhyme, tone and number of words in the important genre of ci poetry (classical Chinese lyric poetry) which first arose in the Tang Dynasty. In the Song Dynasty as a mature form, the two contrasting predominant schools of ci poetry used by different poets were (婉約) wanyue [delicately graceful and restrained] or (豪放) haofang [heroically bold and unconstrained and emotional pertaining to visions or major social issues], and these two different approaches can also be seen in Tang Lici’s ways of expressing himself on different matters.

水龙吟 is also famous as a qupai ie a melody within Northern Chinese opera. That is also why the styles of numerous villains demonstrate strong influences from Chinese opera in costumes and speech patterns and portrayal, Gui Mudan being the most obvious homage to Chinese opera. His recital of certain lines from Wang Shifu’s “Romance Of The Western Chamber” is apt. Yuan Zaju is the pinnacle of ancient Chinese operatic literature in all the dynasties, also from Northern China.

And my explanation of the ending is here, where I incorporate what Luo Yunxi shared about his character and outcome alongside other details that only a mandarin-speaker with a suitable literature background can pick up:

https://mydramalist.com/755725-shui-long-yin#comment-25416512

The allegory of the fox-dragon in the official SLY poster is important or to be more exact, the character-evolution of Tang Lici surpassing himself in this journey of embodying ultimate compassion in Buddhism, to transform the original tale of the fox-dragon. To have Tang Lici in the poster alongside the fox-dragon is fitting. The drama title of《水龙吟》 is actually very fitting, once you know a certain story related to Su Shi and the mandarin title of this drama.

As to popularity and longevity in C-Ent, romance dramas don't necessarily provide the financial revenue that production companies and streaming platforms care for most. Being plastered with a ton of brand sponsors doesn't translate into earnings that companies need and want.

If romance was a winner, IQiyi wouldn't be in such dire financial straits. Industry insiders look at CVB ratings, CSM data and financial revenue. Yunhe application for data patent of their system has been rejected for the seventh time in five years by CNIPA for being unable to access raw data (also known as simulating popularity numbers, or making shit up according to their system that cannot differentiate between bots nor exclude viewership behaviour including FFWD), yet so many users on different MDL pages keep waving Yunhe like a holy grail of success.

This WoF page is likely the only MDL drama page with more than eight users explaining why Yunhe is a scam, especially when one persistent troll kept trying to mislead viewers with data.

"Whispers of Fate" i.e. SLY has earned MangoTV its most-profitable quarter since MangoTV went public in 2015. HuaceTV as exclusive overseas distributor for SLY was laughing all the way to the bank. SLY according to CSM report has 338 million viewing hours versus "Joy Of Life 2" (2024 top viewed drama) at 225 million hours. The list of achievements for SLY is probably longer than my review. The CPOPwave 2026 nomination was unsurprising.

Liu Haocun's recent drama "The Lead" has broken TV viewing records in China, and she deserves all the love and critical acclaim she receives from that drama. But when you look at the MDL drama page, hard to tell. Pretty sure Liu Haocun couldn't care about people talking about her acting as if it sucked due to not kissing Song Weilong or Wang Anyu in dramas.

If we didn't mention SLY's successes here, people wouldn't know.

If an actor or actress wants career longevity and success, being able to do well in non-idol dramas or movies is more crucial than idol dramas. Not needing hot searches or magazine covers or a ton of brand endorsements, not needing to do romance idol dramas yet also enable IPs to happen simply by participating as the lead without needing other leads is a very strong indicator of personal and commercial success. SLY resembles a non-idol drama, theme-wise and storytelling-wise. "The Truth Within" is another recent drama of LYX that non-idol viewers enjoy.

That said, I am glad you also enjoyed SLY despite its lack of romance.

I hope you find the dramas that you can enjoy completely, for the rest of this year!

Every article here is published under one name under all. New to the site compared to some but that's something…
I would appreciate your opinion.

I submitted an article for publication (about Wu Jin Yan and Jiang Shu Ying for a modern suspense IQiyi drama airing in June featuring an all-star cast of prolific actors), and it was published 3 days ago as "Article" instead of "News", which is what my first two articles were classified as.

I do not know your browsing habits, nor am I prying into those habits. I just want to ask if you saw this article on any of the categories, or not at all:

Interesting that you're not the only one to point this out, as another poster below has voiced their opinion more bluntly:

https://news.mydramalist.com/article/wu-jin-yan-and-jiang-shu-ying-stride-towards-the-light-in-those-flowers#comment-26321470

If this article doesn't appear in the first two categories of "News" and "Drama", then that's literally burying this article and other pieces labelled as "Articles" very quickly on the main homepage of articles classified as News, if this article doesn't trend i.e. get enough interactions in likes or comments early enough.

Now you're making me wonder what articles I may have missed by other writers who make occasional contributions, if this can happen to me.

I just clicked on the first page of News, and the twenty articles on it include:

7 days ago: https://news.mydramalist.com/article/shen-yue-gains-while-dylan-wang-loses-followers-following-the-inn-controversy

This article was published on 30 May, which makes it 3 days ago. There is nothing on that page from 3 days ago.

I thought MDL wanted more engagement for its drama and movies and articles.
This change in categorisation of my drafts upon publication makes me think the articles not classified as "News" or "Drama" could affect its visibility and engagement. Very puzzling to me, considering I adhered to the rules for publishing.
I almost don't know what to think at this point.
Curiouser and curiouser.
Thank you for your feedback.

Oh, perhaps it is the length of the pieces. I am fairly new to all this. My third and fourth articles are longer than the first and second articles.

There should be a new classification column other than the three columns of "News", "Drama" and "Trending".

If there is no new classification column because that might be difficult for the site software developers to do, I shall consider making a request for "Articles" to be classified under "Dramas" when a month after its publication has passed.

Sorry to hear you've seen those things, or if they targeted you. I think the poster Luuta has received too much bullying and hence deleted their account, because I see their comments are gone.

I also once complained about very-vicious bullying which was obvious violations of TOS, but nothing came of it.

Right now, my biggest concern is whether "Those Flowers" will air today, and then I have also discovered that this article doesn't show up on the News pages due to its classification.

Thank you for your appreciation! I had a blast putting this article together for two talented ladies plus the…
Interesting to know. I've taken a look.

At the top of every article, there are three headers. I clicked on "News", and there are 20 articles on the first page up to seven days old. This article about Wu Jin Yan and Jiang Shu Ying doesn't appear there at all.

Clicking on "Dramas" shows Editorial articles and Recaps articles, 20 articles in total on the first page dating back to October 2025. Those are much slower to produce.

When I click on the third category of "Trending", only then does this article turn up.

Another MDL user who commented later than you up-top has also shared/trying not to rant about how this article wasn't easy to find.

I submit drafts for publication. I don't choose the categories. I'm now very curious about why this article and the previous article are "Articles" and not "News", unlike my first two articles. Thanks for your input, so I would check things out.

And I thought my biggest concern would be about whether I get the June airing date of "Those Flowers" correct...
