Only if you're a Jing Bo Ran fan
This is my opinion after watching the drama, you don't have to agree.
This is a drama I couldn't wait to see. And I really, really wanted to like it. But unfortunately even Jing Bo Ran couldn't save this drama.
There's a lot that I hated about this drama but I'm just going to hit the parts that aggravated me the most.
Most of the reviews I've read for this drama have placed the blame squarely on Luan Nian's shoulders. He was mean, he was cruel, etc.... I beg to differ. Was he arrogant? Sure. Was he prideful? Again sure. Did he have a temper? You betcha.
However when it came to them as a couple... there were so many times she could've just opened her mouth and said something but nope, she couldn't do it.
She was the one who said their sleeping together the first time was an accident. Excuse me? How? Did she trip, and suddenly find herself in the bed with a hot guy? I don't know how one goes about having that kind of accident but... show me how just once. :)
She gets jealous and instead of having a conversation with him, asking him about the woman (his friend) she gets someone to send her flowers. She refuses to talk to him and wants to break up.
He has to coax her back.
She gets herself in a situation where she almost, almost couldn't get out of. She doesn't tell him. He finds out through an email at the company what happened to her. Naturally, he's pissed that she didn't tell him. Anyone in his shoes would be upset. Of course she gets mad at him because he's angry at her for putting herself in that kind of danger. Honestly, she's lucky something worse didn't happen. She wants to break up with him.
Again he has to coax her back.
She promises no more secrets. She doesn't tell him about him about her 'helping' her roommate with her job... He finds out and of course once again is upset. As he should be. Again with the wanting to break up.
And once again he has to coax her back.
But the one that pissed me off to no end was when she broke up with him for the last time. She told him she wanted to end 'this ugly, filthy, disgusting thing between them.' Now after hearing someone you love use those words to describe your relationship you would expect him to be upset, angry, hell even enraged. He should've been done with her.
She leaves.
He looks for her. He apologized, said he was sorry, he took the blame for everything and she took it as her due. As if she was some kind of princess that deserved to make stupid decisions, while being his girlfriend, keeping secrets from him and have him not be upset or angry with her and just accept it.
Not once did she apologize for anything she said or did. She broke him over and over again, it wasn't a pretty sight.
By the last episode I was hoping he'd give her exactly what she said she wanted and leave her by herself. Frankly he deserved a lot better.
It did have a happy ending... in the last 24 minutes of the last episode. For me it was too little too late.
The only reason I gave this drama 7 stars was because of Jing Bo Ran. If it wasn't for him, it would have barely rated a 2.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely not.
But, if you're a fan of Jing Bo Ran, then by all means give it a shot. He does look delicious in this drama. However, might I suggest watching 'Road Home' instead.
