The acting was well done and the chemistry between leads was great! I liked how the drama showed how the character spent their time working, too and not only busy with romance. It felt real.

The interaction with the kid was so adorably cute! And I need to really stress here that I love the FL here, which is very rare for me. I am someone who often curses the FL in nearly every drama (like 99%) that I have watched. I hate damsel in distress and I hate arrogant, spoiled, and entitled FL (which sadly is like the default of FL character in nowadays drama).

Last, Gong Jung was very handsome here!!! Still, I want to see him taking on xianxia .... I have not enough watching him with that long hair .......

Coming here for Gong Jun after watching him in Word of Honor. He looked amazing here. I for certain was ogling at him every time he came to the screen. The FL was great, too. Finally an actress that I can be a fan of. Her acting is great!

Story wise, this is a usual trope drama. But, I love this very much because I think the interpretation is very refreshing. I have never seen a drama when rich woman vs poor man is done so very well. I like FL character here very much (I hate lots of FL character FYI). Lu Fang Ning is prideful but she never act like entitled woman (which all men should bow to) in front of Ling Rui and she is no damsel in distress. I hope there will be more drama with this kind of FL. I get so bored with all those damsel in distress and annoying FL scattered around.

Soulmate is always correlated of being the best friend. As there are a saying "my husband/wife is my best friend" for those people who have their soulmate as their partner, too. I really hope young people nowadays don't throw the title of best friend too easily. It cheapens the meaning.

It is a great happiness if we can find our soulmate in this life. In WoH, I can imagine how enjoyable it is to wander the jianghu with your soulmate.

The drama about man-woman romance usually suffers from unequal relationship. The man can be abusive and the woman can be the damsel in distress or entitled. What kind of understanding that you can have from that kind of characters?? Of course, there are some exception here and there but try looking for that drama is like looking for needle around haystack.

Yeah, I also dislike on how certain drama has to have ML and FL. As if everything must be revolving around romance. In my opinion romance is just a type of love that revolves around a physical attraction that usually end up in sex and marriage. If I want to use a bad word, it is a love that originated from sexual lust.

Soulmate is different story. If your spouse is both your romance love and soulmate, then you are the luckiest people in the world. But often, your spouse is not your soulmate. If it is, then we will not have this many divorce in our world these days. Soulmate is a love that deals more with mind and resonance of soul from two people. It is like finding a person whom you can share your mind with and you can expect a satisfying feedback. You don't need to say anything, and your soulmate will know what you need just by seeing your expression or hearing your voice. It is a very deep connection of mind. This kind of love is not restricted by gender.

It is unfortunate that we often need to look into BL story based to have a story like this. As I see it, lots of Chinese BL (especially historical one, wuxia, xianxia, or the like) actually has this kind of platonic soulmate love. In those BL novels that I have read, both ML often get attracted to each other not in physical means but because of the mind and soul quality of each other. Yes, usually there will be sex later on in the story but more than often it is only icing on the cake.

Yes, I can see that people nowadays see it as queerbaiting. But as you have said, soulmate platonic love is exist in real life and those people are most likely heterosexual. Soulmate platonic love is not a love that is exclusive for gay and lesbian.

I see your point. And I admit the existence of black fans. Still, mob mentality exist, especially in this kind of idol worshiping in young people community. There is perhaps only low percentage of immature fans exist if we talk the whole fan community. However, this few people somehow can incite the others. That was what I saw from Xiao Zhan scandal last year.

I think it is unwise for us to disillusion ourselves toward the existence of extreme fans. I saw for myself what those fans said in the online world. And no, I was pretty sure they were not antis in disguise. Their passion was overflowing. And I can imagine that those people are capable of doing something extreme in the name of supporting and protecting their idol.

I don't know which fans that cause this Yang Zhi problem. Looking from Yang Mi case, perhaps it is antis. But, I will not ignore the possibility that her extreme fans also have a hand in this.

I do have difficulty in separating true fans and fake fans these days. Those anti certainly works too much in coordination. Furthermore, there are lots of immature fans out there who are so selfish in their support that they breach a certain line. We already have proof of that happened.

I believe it is time for fandom to realize that there are some radical in their midst that can be harmful in the future instead of blaming everything on the anti fan everytime shitty things happen.

Zhang Zhe Han real life personality is so colorful and very straightforward. I hope he is not forced to change it because I am bored seeing robot everywhere. Human should have certain personality. Gong Jun on the other hand is very cute. He has this adorable side in him, hahahahaha. No wonder Zhang Zhe Han could not help himself teasing him continuously. Anyway, I like watching their interaction and hope they can keep their friendship.

I watched a youtube video regarding fan theory of their "real life CP" proof. Honestly, people really need to stop forcing their fantasy to the reality. If those theory is to be practiced in all the world, then all friendship between guys will be deemed as gay.

Good to hear. I do think that they have a good relationship in real life. Their BTS is very natural. Just like two guy friends talked trash to each other. Still, I hope people will restraint themselves in regards to real life "CP". I don't want both of them distancing themselves from each other because of crazy real life CP fans. I am actually late to this mess since I have only known about all of this like two days ago. I cannot say I understand what is the crux of the problem but I do have problem with Yang Zhi fans argument regarding why they don't want her to take on this project.

First, no matter how shitty Huan Rui lots of people try to make, she is still part of the company and thus has certain responsibility toward it. She needs to honor her contract if only to show her integrity. Fans should never make their idol sacrifice her/his integrity for anything. Without it, no one would want to work with you. Second, it is too arrogant to say that xianxia is too low level for her. Yes, I know that xianxia is often correlated with idol drama. But, even I admit that there are xianxia with good and mature script. So why not try this one?! This is a big IP. Also, it seems any genre can become an idol drama nowadays ..... I have been updating my way of thinking these days. Third, the saying about Yang Zhi getting forced to do this drama will not look pretty in front of the platform and investor. Because it will make her seems arrogant and entitled. No celebrity is irreplaceable.

I hope the fans of both lead can restraint themselves and support the drama together. Anyway, it is already a fact that both of them will star in this drama. Boycotting is the stupidest thing that can be done at this moment because it will directly affecting both leads, not only one of them. Lets just hope the success of the drama.

I watched And the Winner is Love and failed to finish it. Despite its fault, the story is quite good in the beginning. Not to mention, it is Luo Yun Xi ...... But the story just get down around the middle and I lost my interest.

I think part of the reason why Xiao Zhan and Wang Yi Bo can stand so long in the top position is because there is no good BL drama adaptation airing after The Untamed. BL is a niche that has lots of fangirls. And I admit, that we female is the one who are more passionate in voting our favorite in those popularity charts.

We will see some changes this year. If Immortality can preserve the essence of the original and get the love from the original fans, I dare saying that drama will toppling The Untamed. In regards to original story, Immortality have heavier plot. And the lead actors are more experienced than Xiao Zhan and Wang Yi Bo back then.

I heard about the director of The Untamed giving detailed direction but never see it myself. Other than The Untamed, I think another Xiao Zhan big drama (or tauted as big by his fans) is Douluo Continent. However that drama is rather controversial because it gets much hate from original fans (including me unfortunately). Not to mention, I don't think Xiao Zhan acting in there is that outstanding. It is only okayish. He still have unaired drama with Yang Zhi, Oath of Love. Perhaps that will be better.

Yeah, I am agree that the lead of WoH is more mature in regards of acting since they have more experience. I enjoy the acting skill of casts in the WoH as a whole. The chemistry between the lead comes out as normal and casual without fakeness.

These days my tolerance toward inexperienced actor getting lead character just because of their traffic is getting less and less. I am no longer in my teen age when my mind practically only seeking for eye candy. Those stiff acting is so hurtful for my eyes. It is no longer matter how handsome you are but if your acting is so bad ......

The problem with Xiao Zhan popularity is that he lacks portofolio under his belt. He needs more drama to cement his position in the industry. Relying on his rabid fans is not safe because I bet majority of them are teenager and young woman. Once they phased out certain age, they will no longer has this kind of crazy passion in stanning him.

These days, actor/actress is not getting popular because of their acting skill but because of their face and their horde of crazy fans. They are not confident with their acting skill, thus the fan service ..... Not to mention the producer nowdays just can never get a good script written.

I get your point. But this crying about getting spoiled start to annoy me a bit. Because this kind of forum discussion is spoiler heaven for those who are late watcher in a way. It is just inevitable. It is like you know cannot eat candy but still enter candy store. Comment about the ending in current time without spoiler tag, that is bad. But comment about episode 10 for the example, should be done freely by this time.

Currently, lot of us who have finish watching the raw is still holding ourselves to discuss too deeply about the drama in its entirety. But by the time this drama finish airing at youtube, all spoiler will out in the open. Because the drama has already ended. The assumption would be everyone is by then ready to discuss about everything.

But that scandal for certain has tarnished his image in front of passer-by based on comments I read in bilibili. Yes, he is still popular. But popularity is a very flimsy thing and can gone overnight. This year, we will get a big influx of BL drama adaptation. Just after WoH, he has been dethroned. This is a bit difficult to do. Honestly I am confused by this kind of request. It is understandable to hide under spoiler if I want to talk about raw episode that has not yet aired in sub version. But to ask from episode 1 is too much. In every forum discussion (not only MDL), I always take that all episodes that have been aired in sub version is fair game. Your request literally asking us to not discuss about anything in the open. Until when? Because there will be always an influx of new viewers who are late.
