The second season would be nothing but pointless. What else would they show there? It's not like a story of detectives…
Another aspect I totally agree on! I got so used to Asian dramas format rarely having more than one season now I can't imagine myself watching series like Lucifer, The Walking Dead because they became way too long for me. I love how in kdramas it usually takes around 16-20 hours to tell the whole story instead of multiple dragged out seasons. So with Queen of Tears is just makes sense to end it with one season. They knew when to finish it and delivered satisfying ending.

The beauty of Kdramas is they know when to quit. Not like US shows who have a good season or 2. , then run the series into the ground and end horribly with no one watching. Limited run series are so much better.
