I agree, except I refuse to accept "strong" as an adjective for a female character unless she is physically strong.…
Oh I understand your point and I agree with it.

It’s just that with this particular female character she IS physically strong and I cannot dismiss the OP only meant to refer to her personality traits when their next describing adjective is “‘military’ woman”.

What would you suggest as an alternative to its use though? Considering people have come to apply it for any female character that doesn’t sport a doormat or damsel in distress personality which has been far too prevalent in media.

Wow, they had horrible foreign actors. I almost gave it a low rating but afterwards the story and amazing acting of Lee Seung Gi and Jo Jung Suk, i overlooked that flaw.

But she IS physically strong ? Literally part of the special forces in her military

i'm reading the comments and they be protesting against the FL's cutesy character. IT IS HER CHARACTER. She is a strong military woman but amidst that, she wants to live as a normal woman who experiences love and all other normal women experience. It is because of her naivety and innocence that's why she acts like that. I think her acting was great.

John Mayer's flunkies were Australians with Australian accents
Yes, exactly, and I agree with you. (I've also heard the U.S. doesn't want to be part of the ICC because we want to be able to execute minors who commit crimes....which is repellent to me, but this is off topic a bit....)
It does also make me wonder how folks who play international characters in Western media are portrayed - how often are their accents completely wrong, or speaking the wrong language even? I'm sure we're not much better than k-dramas, and we should all strive to be.

I always find it bemusing when you hear American accents where they should not be. Like at the end, the ICC agents were obviously supposed to be Americans with their strange accents, BUT the ICC is one of many international organisations the Americans (and Chinese) refuse to sign up to (they do not want their soldiers being tried for war crimes) so having Americans be ICC agents was strange lol.

I loved King2Hearts a lot, (like a lot), but it had the MOST ATROCIOUS "American" "actors" I had ever seen....then and still now. I don't know where they found those people, but they weren't American, for sure. However, what was even worse was that they were such bad actors it was embarrassing, and it made their scenes unwatchable. The villains were so bad it became cartoonish (and not cartoonish like anime or something cool.)

So this drama ended up having two things: some of the most heartfelt and well-written scenes in dramaland: between the King and his beloved, between the previous King and the new King, between the King and his friend, between Hang Ah and her father, etc, etc, and 2) some of the poorest execution of a portrayal of international folks out there.

And I want to go on record here disagreeing with anyone who is being negative about the FL's character - either her accent or her voice or how she looks. Ha Ji Won could turn her character from cutesy and sweet into a badass in seconds - that's acting skill, folks.

It is amazing that Ha Ji Won is almost a decade older than Lee Seung Gi and yet they look like contemporaries. I need her skincare regime (and her genes) :-)

It's kind of funny where in ep 1 she mentions Hyun Bin and then years later we get Crash Landing on you.
