If you're looking for a straight romance, than this probably isn't for you. The drama revolves around the to ML's and their story. There is a beautiful romance in this drama, but it is entirely subtext and not in your face. The drama also takes more like 10/15 episodes to get into. Looking at you watch list, this drama might not be your cup of tea though. :)
finally a rating closer to reality. a beautiful drama but too overrated
I know you replied up above that the drama has flaws, but just because something has flaws doesn't mean it isn't beautiful. While you might not have enjoyed it as much as the other people on here, or more people to come, there are others who loved it. Maybe think of your favorite drama and consider how you would react to such a comment :)
The new MDL algorithm is devoted to analyzing the ratings and adjusting for fake accounts and such. This isn't the only drama with a rating fluctuation. I couldn't find the link someone else posted. Make sure you're verified so your rating counts! :)
This drama is very dear to a lot of people. Also, it looks like you haven't watched it, so why are you judging…
I figured you might have as they're pretty much staples in drama watching. I do agree on the past story outshining the present one, but I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much without it all connecting together. I loved it, and went into withdrawal for about a week, lol.
Yay! Happy watching, I hope you like it! Feel free to pop in if you have questions about it :)
Not sure if you've given this a try yet, but it's decently good. I'm on episode five currently and it's much darker than I expected. I'm not sure why there's only a romance tag as this is much more complex than that.

I would recommend giving it a go. I ended up getting sucked in by it and I had avoided xianxia dramas for the eights years I'd been watching dramas. Now they're one of the types of dramas I seek out xD
Saaamme. They're all okay, but not the best out there. One of my favorites is Chicago Typewriter, which is so good but it didn't get much hype to it. If you like fantasy, you might enjoy Gu Family Book and Goblin.

I agree, that's why I tend to avoid reading reviews, especially on super hyped shows. I've watched some dramas that other people tore apart, but I enjoyed the and vice versa. I did the same thing with CLOY, where I avoiding it for a long time just because I didn't think it was my thing. A lot of people loved that drama, and I was sorely disappointed in it tbh. I only got into it in the second half, and was left severely underwhelmed. Hype can definitely be detrimental for sure.
Since you don't have anything on your watch list, I'm not sure what kind of dramas you enjoy, but CQL is really quite good. I would recommend it if you like xianxia, stories with a deep plot-line, and a mystery/slow reveal. When I starting watching it, I almost dropped it, but ended up sticking to it because I saw the users on this page encouraged a lot of other people to stick with it. I'm super glad I did. If you're not feeling gung-ho about it right now, there's no harm in waiting until you feel pumped to watch it but I do recommend giving it a chance at some point.
