I've tried a couple, and never got too deeply into them, but I added Barrack O'Karma to my ptw list :D Thank you for the article and recommendations!

"You'll be one of us" - it sounds both a cheer that makes me want to jump up and down but also like an ominous…
It honestly does, but where is the lie xD

I need to brush up on my book knowledge again, but to my remembrance, we sadly get even less closure in the book…
I actually said the same thing a couple months ago, and somebody else pointed out that after everything they'd been through, it would be a little sudden if they made up so quickly. I've seen some watchers bash Jiang Cheng and his actions, but I think they forget that while Wei Wuxian lost everything, so did Jiang Cheng. I did wish that they made up for us, but, in my opinion, it makes more sense that they didn't. So much had happened between the two, along with 16 years of living with his losses on JC's side, that to act like nothing had happened would have been a huge feat. I think I like the hope for the future spin more for their relationship. It seems more realistic. :D

Absolutely, anytime! :)

There are a couple moments that really stand out for me. First, when they're standing off against GY and WLJ openly…
Yeah, that is definitely a pretty intense exchange between the two, and I'm sure more would have been said if A-Yaun didn't interrupt, lol. I do think Wei Ying did have feelings for Lan Zhan before he died (his face as he's falling is full of so many unsaid sorrows), but I don't think he actually thought to himself "wow, I love this man" until he came back.

There was a lot going on before that, and he had so many people to worry about other than himself, I don't think he had the time to stop and realize he was in love with Lan Wang Ji. I think something else that was stopping him from admitting to his feelings pre-resurrection was LWJ's disciplined façade. He kept trying to save WWX, but didn't express it in kind words (poor dude wouldn't know tact if it hit him in the face) and that gave WWX the impression LWJ only cared about his change of cultivation. Between the war going on, the Wen Clan and Lan Zhan's demeanor, I'm not sure Wei Ying took the time to reflect on his deeper feelings other than that he cared for Lan Zhan's well-being.

We see how much he does in fact love him without realizing it by playing Wangxian when he comes back from the dead, and how he acts around LWJ when they reunite. One of the first people he thinks of is also LWJ, so he's definitely thoroughly whipped xD. There is definitely something there pre-resurrection, but, like you said, I think WWX didn't say those exact words to himself until he came back and saw WLJ's unfailing loyalty and love. :D

It so looks like Lan Zhan was going to say something else when they parted ways in the burial mounds, and I would give my left liver to know what it is.

At what point do you think cql!wwx first realized that he liked lwj? The very first moment where went "my god,…
There are a couple moments that really stand out for me. First, when they're standing off against GY and WLJ openly admits to knowing that it was WWX the entire time. The near relief and care in his expression after LWJ repeats what he says about walking the narrow bridge after dark is sweet.

The second would be when LWJ is drunk and tells him that he regrets not backing him at the fight against the sects and WWX looks at him and ask, "So you've been looking for me this whole time?" The realization that LWJ blamed himself and had been actively waiting for him to come back, without any evidence to suggest he would come back, is clearly displayed on his face. There's also so much affection in his expression when LWJ suddenly gets up to go to bed at his scheduled time.

The third is the "I'm sorry, and thank you." scene between the two. The look that the two share as WWX is drinking and says that while LWJ plays his instrument, says "I'm at peace and finally home." I think between the moments that led up to it, this moment stands out for me as a time when they open and bare their souls to each other, almost without words, and WWX thinks to himself that this is the one.

That's just my take on it though xD. There's so many times that the two gaze each other and it seems like the whole world stops around them. I know LWJ fell in love with WWX pretty early on, and while WWX did love him I'm sure, I don't think he realized it/actually said to himself "I love this man" until the sixteen years had passed.

For those of you who have watched the drama and read the novel, although I'm happy that the two MLs had a happy…
I need to brush up on my book knowledge again, but to my remembrance, we sadly get even less closure in the book than the drama. The drama gives us hope for the future of their relationship, while the book leaves it to what it is. WWX goes to live with LWJ at the end, and that's the last we hear of JC's and WWX's relationship from what I remember. They don't reconcile in the book, but JC doesn't hate him anymore after the golden core events came to light. I do highly recommend reading the book!

This was my first and only to date 50 episode watch, and I binged it in three days. It's such a deep watch and so satisfying to finish. By the time it was over, I wished there were more episodes. :)

I've heard quite a lot of praises about this drama. Just finished watching and here are my honest opinions on…
OSJ's portrayal of Sang Tae was amazing! He was definitely one of my favorite parts as well. There's a BTS blooper at the end in which you could see him switch out of his character and the difference was really cool to see.

One cliché I hate is the misunderstanding cliché. This happens in most Asian dramas, not just Kdramas, but it's when something happens to create a misunderstanding between the love interests. Instead of clearing it up, the character just stands there with their mouth open. I find it a ridiculous ploy to create extra drama in the last few episodes.

Everything you put down is pretty accurate, haha. It's practically the Kdrama formula at his point xD

Sorry for posting so much everyone but damn this drama! What a difference from the first episode when they showed…
Don't worry about posting! All appreciation and analysis posts are super welcome here! One of my favorite things about being on this page is the constant sharing and conversations about CQL :)

It really is a beautifully subtle romance that stays with you for a long time. They're journey is gradual but so very powerful. They are each other's resting place ♡

I've only seen 4 episodes and I'm wondering if it gets any better since I'm kind of struggling to continue watching…
It took me until episode 20 to really fall in love with it, so I would suggest you keep watching. It get's a lot more involved around episode 10, but don't force yourself to continue if you're really struggling to connect with it. :)

I think you hit it on the nose, honestly. I rewatched the scene and it brought tears to my eyes all over again.…
I hadn't really thought into that moment before, but yes. He looks like he wants to say so much in that moment. All his tiny expressions really speak a thousand words.

Haha, no worries. The two don't have too many difference between them. Just more wangxian moments. :)

I would hope he eventually told him when they reunited. It probably led to some dual cultivation, hehehe. Can…
It made me so happy that when WWX came back and he was searching for a song to calm WN , that was the first thing that came to mind. It just speaks to how much it soothed his own soul and stuck with him.

Yesss, they left little hints throughout, and I love the one where Wei Ying asks Yanli about liking someone. It hints he might feel something, but his character is always so clueless towards his feelings. It's both endearing and exasperating.

I'm not sure he knew Wei Wuxian would die, but I think on some level Lan Zhan knew it was going down a road that his own road didn't follow. Their roads merely intersected the first go around, which I think is why LWJ paved the road solely for WWX the second go around. In the one scene when Lan Zhan visits Wei Wuxian, you can see him hesitating when it's time to leave (I don't remember the reference post, but someone else pointed it out). He definitely wanted to back WWX, but I would say didn't have the courage to go against all he'd ever known at the time. Of course, once everything took place, he realized too late.

I see that you're not finished with the drama in full yet so I won't say anything else. :)
