Hi guys. So, at what point, in the cql world, do you think lan wangji told wei wuxian the name of their song?…
I would hope he eventually told him when they reunited. It probably led to some dual cultivation, hehehe. Can you imagine the emotions that LWJ felt every time WWX played their song completely unaware of the meaning behind it?
I just finished watching episode 27 and the rain scene between Wei Young and Lan Zhan gave me goosebumps! Wei…
I think you hit it on the nose, honestly. I rewatched the scene and it brought tears to my eyes all over again. The raw emotion that passes between their gazes within a moment is breathtaking.
I really think this is the first time Lan Zhan began to question the black and white that society had pressed on him. Here he sees the man he loves, one who everybody is badmouthing, sacrificing his reputation for a small group of people that the sects are treating like vermin. Wei Wuxian reminds him of the promises they made to each other, and challenges exactly what they promises entail. I think Lan Wangji realizes that WWX really would sacrifice himself to save the others and that hurts him too much to bear.
I agree about the umbrella thing. I wonder if he was finally admitting to his feelings fully, knowing that he might be losing the man he loves. I also think that WWX says what he does about hoping that he would have to fight LWJ was because he realized on some level that LWJ was the only one at the time who actually cared about him (besides his sister obvs.). Despite how much he pressed WWX to quit the demonic cultivation, Lan Zhan came alone to stop him, when he could have easily brought reinforcements. When everybody else coveted his Yin Iron, LWJ presses for his return to the "proper" cultivation. The look on Lan Zhan's face when Wei Ying says if he's doomed to die, he hopes it's by Wangji's hands is heartrending. I think he says that because he knows on some level that LWJ only wants what's best for him, while the rest of society wants to condemn him out of greed and jealousy. He would rather die by someone pure than someone who is corrupt.
It's such a powerful scene between the two and one of my favorites.
For me, without a doubt, is WangXian. This story was about WWX's life and his life would not be complete without…
Okay, but the way that LWJ immediately holds onto WWX in the reuniting clip is just T_T It shows how much he's afraid that WWX is going to disappear again. I'm just going to go cry in a corner
So well said! A society full of greed can destroy one persons life, but just one person can make all the difference…
True that. I think he was just done with greed around him, and all the loss it had caused him and is family. It's so sad. I really don't think it was the cultivation that got to him, it was the sect's corruption around him that pushed him to the edge.
I watch this drama thinking it was a horror genre ? randomly netflix suggested it and now I think WWX is a superb…
There most likely won't be a season two because it's based on a book, but I recommend reading the book and donghua if you crave more of the material! There's also a chibi version of TU which is honestly the cutest.
It's actually based on a book that is a hundred plus chapters long, so they cut it down pretty decently, lol!…
I absolutely agree! Some series/movies invest a ton and fall flat, while some much less and they succeed. It seemed a valid point, especially considering she seemed offended by seeing the foam and bouncing pillars xD I was too busy watching the action to notice those little details. I attribute TU's success entirely to the team and actors that put they heart into it. The CGI and such never bothered me, because everything else was spectacular. But she seemed affronted by it, which is why I said that.
Of course the majority here are fans, but I think it is also important to acknowledge that some people might not like it for the poster's above exact situation. Some might watch it because it's popular and then dislike it. I feel like it's better to give reasons why other's would enjoy it so people who come here can read it and determine whether it's their type of show or not. I don't mean harm by it, I just want to make sure that those who will love it watch it, and those who might not don't come here to post about their disappointment afterwards. I also know that there are people who come here to trashpost about it without watching it, and I feel the best way to respond is politely and point out how we differ in opinions civilly. It leaves a better impression on those who come here and read the comments. :)
It is very good! I was initially hesitant to start it because I hadn't been able to immerse myself in wuxia dramas…
(Putting under spoiler because it's not TU related)
I feel you on that! I was really happy to catch up on the things I missed out on because of work and everything else. That is quite a daunting list to tackle, but I believe in you! I sped through all the good (in my opinion) American tv shows and rarely watch them anymore unless it's with my boyfriend, who can't get into the Asian series xD Also, Chicago Typewriter was the absolute bomb! One of my favorite kdramas to date honestly.
