There's no such thing as a "second leads" no more; China removed the old billing system, there's only 2 categories, Main Role(which is ordered by number of surname strokes) and Support Role(which is Special guest Appearance and also listed in order of number of surname strokes), in fact with the new rules, even tho Snow Kong has a guest role, she's technically meant to be placed in the 3rd position, MDL ordering it like this is better imo.

Shen Xihe' decisions really makes me ponder on how to view her, and combined with ep 13s trailer, I don't know whether to dislike that decision as its heartbreaking or whether I support it cause I like how cautious she is... I'd rather be happy them marrying when she actually develops feelings rather than just for a game.

I doubt 300 chapters were squeezed, rather think it'd be first 100 or so. I wouldn't mind the fast pacing so long the climax and major points are done justice in terms of their lengths, I'm not fond of the typical anticlimactic climax that all these dramas love having. I'll remain optimistic on the bigger problems ahead 😅

Okay the pacing has gotten quite better from ep 5, I'm loving the shamelessness of the Crown Prince, mans fighting for his wife, He Yu's character intrigues me most atm. Still wish the issues risen isn't solved so fast, makes it seem like everything is in place to happen, like its all too coincidental.

My only problem is actually the pacing of the drama, I'm not fond of VERY-fast paced dramas when one plot line is finished in like 5 mins, it feels just like information thrown towards my face as I can't develop a connection to it. I understand the novel had 852 chapters, but at the end of the drama they could've taken the main political plots without the need to insert everything else. All I'm hoping is that it just returns to
a normal pace. Otherwise, I love the cinematography and the bits of the plot line I managed to grasp.
