This is the type of show that you wish is longer because they acted well, the cinematography was awesome, and the editing was excellent. But at the same time, you'll realize that it was perfect because they planned it to be exactly as short as it is, they knew it won't be good if it is longer.
She was probably sent to heaven or reincarnated. She wasn't supposed to be in hell, that was phe reqson Justitia was punished, she sent someone to hell who wasn't supposed to be there.
Wow! I haven't seen a show where there are three "main" characters who are very good with strategy, planning, and analytical skills. It's often two, 1 protagonist and 1 antagonist. But this one changed the dynamics, and created an excellent plot and surprising twists. LOL. It's like playing a 3-way chess, with the third opponent unknown until the last minute.
What if Eunho is the one who actually disappeared? The one who took over was actually HAEri?
What if Eunho, in their shared diary, wrote that she's giving reigns over to HAEri on the condition that HAEri will live as Eunho by having her memories. During the time they took a "vacation leave", it was when Eunho and HAEri worked out how they can merged their memories and let HAEri take over.
So, in the end, both of them are "alive". Their personalities merged with HAEri in control. That is why she had a sudden 180° personality change. But because Eunho is also there, HAEri sometimes feel the negativity of Eunho. There are no two personalities inside her anymore, just one. HAEri is now Eunho, but the positivity of HAEri is the one that's in control.
It's no different from people without DID. There are pseudo-personalities in each of us, and often times, we battle between them. For example, I know my "evil", "demonic" side. It was only last year that I completely "erased" it. Prior to that, I was always tempted to let it out and be that person. It wasn't a DID personality because the times I let it out, I was in full control and making my own decisions. There are DID where other personalities are aware, but they don't have control, so mine was just "my evil side".
So, I'm thinking that HAEri is in control but since they merged themselves, HAEri understood that she is Eunho. As one personality, "they" kept the positivity of HAEri as "their" main attitude and character but kept "their" identity as Eunho because that's "them" any way. "They" resolved their differences. "They" made peace with each other which led to their unification.
Hmm… "unification". Is Eunho/HAEri also a symbolical representation of the 2 Koreas?
I hope they'll keep Ji Yeeun. There never was a single Running Man episode that I got bored since she joined. I love the character she's role-playing too and how she's acting it, it reminds me of my school years, especially Grade 9 and Grade 10. The good ol' days when we're all teenagers falling in love and teasing each other. Keep it up Yeeun, you revived Running Man!
The writer did When the Weather Is Fine, which was awesome. Please stick to 16-episode series for now. If they don't want to approve it, you have two choices: 1. Shelve it and pitch it later, or to someone else 2. Restart from scratch and get help on how to write for 12 episodes
It's so obvious this was meant to be longer. Otherwise, it's really your first time to write shorter stories.
The potential is there for this story. Maybe should've been a film instead, dedicated to people with DID, at least you can focus on the matter instead of adding that trash reporter character that don't add any value to the plot, just to meet the mimimum time per episode.
First, some North American OTT service made a mistake in Romanization.
Second, they made the FL write the shows's title on her diary with "Hyeri" written and immediately followid it with the Title Card where it's written as "Haeri". 🤣🤣 A very poor attempt in saving the face of whoever made a mistake in Romanization. LMAO.
They even switched the name/pronunciation to "Hyeri" but guess what? They're back to using "Haeri". 🤷🏽🤦🏽🙅🏽
Third, that was it? She suddenly got control over herself? HAEri disappeared just like that? And now she might suddenly return just as she suddenly disappeared?
I've talked to some people with DID and their experience is far from how DID was portrayed in this show. They should've gone for 16 episodes. I think choosing 12 episodes messed up the what would've been a great one.
Even in literature, it is hard to tell a short story. This story appears to be originally 16 episodes that was compressed to 12 after they submitted their final draft. Because of that, they had to cut off a lot and jump forward in time so many times, there's no longer any essence to the story.
Now, I'm only giving the benefit of the doubt that it was originally written for a 16-episode series. I don't want to think that this was rctually written with 12 episodes in mind. I mean, if it was, it won't be like this.
I'm sorry, it's just that there was potential but it was wasted. And that trash reporter, there was no need for that character. There are a thousand ways to get the ML into an accident without wasting screentime for.a character that adds zero value.
Kim Taeri as lead in this show was no doubt intentional, we can go as far as to say that the on screen adaptation was written with her in mind. Theatre is her turf after all.
Theatre actors are actually the best screen actors too. It's why those who started on screen are advised to go into theatre acting so they can hone their skills and learn the secrets in acting.
In the West, Sir Patrick Stewart, known for the roles Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Professor Charles Xavier, started as a theatre actor (and still is). His American counterparts in Star Trek: The Next Generation often shared how he changed the show and how they learned acting from him (they're already established actors).
It's why Kim Taeri is so good herself.
Even though her theatre scenes in this show were scripted, you can actually see her theatre acting in full display. I wouldn't be surprise if all they did was roll the camera continuously, and let everything happen naturally. 🙃🙂 The editing director probably had an easy time as well for the Kim Taeri theatre scenes.
Whenever it's Kim Taeri's theatre scenes, it is as if we're watching a fan camera of a real live theatre play. You can see the difference in her acting, theatre vs on-screen. Kim Taeri is being on full-on theatre actor mode when she's in a theatre scene. On-screen mode when in everything else. Truly a legend. No, a goddess.
is she playing in theatre or something? because compared to many actors involved in this project, she like came…
More likely she is. Kim Taeri started in theatre herself before she had a huge break in The Handmaiden film. So, they're probably friends because they share the same background. Theatre actors are a tight-knit group in any country.
I'm happy they changed things, and improved the editing. As I suggested in S01, they need to reframe it to show that they're bringing happiness not through the prizes but through their interaction with celebrities.
And my other suggestion that they should add a wildcard for the guests.
I am not saying they saw my suggestion, maybe they did, maybe those were common suggestions, it doesn't matter, what's important is they made changes in S02 or at least in S02E01.
I hope the rest of S02 will continue as S02E01. It's about interaction with celebrities, not the prizes. That's where bappiness lies for us ordinary folks. The prizes are simply a bonus, the guests may not get it, who cares! Ordinary people had a chance to interact and have fun with celebrities.
Keep that way of editing. it's all about how you frame and use each scenes.
I like Habin, she's aware of her surroundings. She knows how to mislead and misdirect people, especially those…
I think Habin knows her father did not divorce her mother, rather, she's dead. During the scene where she was in a police station, she slightly showed her admiration of her father. And when she was retrieving the burner phone from her father's room, she knew when to do it, how to do it, how to systematically search (instead of going everywhere), and to only focus on her goal.
I wouldn't be surprised if she read the books her father has, that's why she her brain is well developed in this type of logic and thinking process.
She also probably learned that her mother was murdered before E01. So, she started to do her own investigation which eventually led to plotting her revenge. The only problem, she made a miscalculation.
Possible miscalculations: 1. Getting involved in the phone theft. If those girls were not connected in her mother's death in any way, she should've left them alone. 2. If not #1, and those girls are actually involved somehow or will lead her to finding the real suspect, she miscalculated where to confront the girls and how they were able to fight back.
Regardless if it's #1 or #2, this led to her father getting involved. Despite her misleading and misdirecting her father, mistake upon mistake started to follow.
Her next mistake was the burner phone. She should've kept it in silent mode (no vibration).
Then it was followed by the mountain case. It would have been better to have turned her phone off before she did anything. (Assuming she did, but we all know she dropped her phone when her dad was calling her.)
I think Habin knows her father did not divorce her mother, rather, she's dead. During the scene where she was…
The thing with people who knows how to mislead and misdirect is that it is not easy to read them. People who think logically, people who shut their emotions in, they think and move differently. Their brains are almost always active and firing up a gazillion neurons to process everything and to think a lot of things simultaneously.
And if one is also knowledgeable about how to read people, like how to tell lies, you'll even become more effective in misleading and misdirecting. Like what Habin did in two scenes that her father noticed:
Scene 1: She bit her lip when her father asked her a question.
She even knew the correct timing of when to bit her lip, and when to avoid eye contact.
Habin's objective: She wants her father to think she's lying.
Scene 2: When she stood at the school gate, knowing her father is watching. Then she smiled, appearing to be very friendly, but after that she went back to her neutral self.
Her father noticed this, which led him to "Doubt" (the show's title) his earlier conclusion that Habin lied to her in the police station. By this time, her father started to entertain the possibility that Habin's actions and expressions are just, well, that. Nothing to read between the lines. (There are people like this, especially many of us who are autistics. :P )
Habin's objective: Make father believe that her actions and expressions means nothing. This will allow her to act more freely without raising her father's suspicions.
Unfortunately for Habin, the mistakes that started to pile up is not helping her.
Unless it was all part of her plan. To keep her father within arms reach. Not too near, not too far. She wants her father to arrive to the truth by himself, that her mother was murdered. That he failed to profile her mother's death. But at the same time, she doesn't want her father to be too far because she admires him and she knows he is the only one she can lean on if her plans fail.
I like Habin, she's aware of her surroundings. She knows how to mislead and misdirect people, especially those with talent in observation and detecting lies.
What I still can't tell is if she's doing it intentionally or not.
Although, I think there's a high chance she's aware of her knowledge, for example, she stepped crossed just when the cars are on "go". It was a calculated move, a move that she knows is risky but she has to do to accomplish her goal (whatever it is).
LOL. So he was Dr. Romantic! I knew I saw that face somewhere. Hahahaha.
His face is more buffed and rounded. And his acting here is different from when he was in Dr. Romantic. If I did not check, I wouldn't even make the connection. ^_^;;
It's very interesting how the Korean entertainment industry sets up a certain theme for certain months. They've been doing this since, at least based on my observation, 2020, so that's 4 years now.
I can't tell if it they intentionally did it or the trend and/or current issues in Korea is around a particular topic or theme.
For example, there were months wherein the premiering dramas are about child abuse, or political corruption, or debt, or psychotic individuals. Now, it's about a police detective, or some other public official, where their child/children got involved in a crime.
There were "Your Honor" and "Black Out" which had an airing overlap, and both recently ended (the former ended earlier than the latter). What do we have now? "Doubt".
It's very interesting how the Korean entertainment industry sets up a certain theme for certain months. They've…
This is, of course, assuming that Korean TV writers are still writing based on their current issues and trends. Not like in other countries where they no longer write based on current issues and trends, rather they write based on what will get them advertisers and viewership.
I really wonder what's going on and how come they frequently end up with a particular theme. Mind you, some of these series were done filming and editing a year or two before it actually aired. Was it intentionally delayed because they're waiting for other similarly-themed shows and thus air them together or close to each other?
If this was intentional, this can be interpreted as manipulating or influencing the people. Think about it, if there are certain themes throughout the year, what and how do you think will the people see the world around them after watching and talking about those similar shows?
It doesn't have to be an immediate result. These various themes, it may look like they're disconnected, but in the long term, they start to connect together in the people's mind, which in turn changes their thought process.
Example, the themes about corruption, debt, politicians, child abuse. Two to four dramas for each subject, spread over 4 years. Then two years later, something big happened: a politician was involved in child abuse and was proven to be running a debt machine. That politician will never see the light of day again because the people will be so angry without them understanding why (when years before, they just dismiss it as "every politician is like that" or "no one is perfect"). Deep inside their psyche, they were actually influenced earlier.
Guys our couple have been active sharing the LND filming photos in their IG's account. Like hinting something…
Jeong Somin? It's probably just her manager teasing everyone because she's too close with her on-screen partner. She did that before and everyone went gaga. Her manager probably realized how to capitalized that.
2. It's their choice if they'll have kissing scenes or whatever.
😁
