So, there is a rumour going around that Extraordinary Attorney Woo is in talks with various North American producers for a possible adaptation.
If true, I sincerely hope it the American adaptation won't suffer from the same flak as the other autism related adaptation, "The Good Doctor" which was based on the K-drama "Good Doctor". (Just search "The Good Doctor" and you'll see a lot of negative feedback about it from the autistic community.)
I have not watch the original or any other adaptation (there is a Japanese, Hong Kong, and Turkish adaptations too), so I can not say how good or bad any of it.
May I ask, Netflix in what country? I want to use VPN to access the new episodes, as Netflix in my country sadly…
Yeah, could've changed or some other conditions.
I also encountered crazy timing from Netflix, one time everyone already have it in my actual region and I still can't access it even though my account's paid in our own region and I'm not using VPN for it.
But when I changed region, I can access it fine. LOLs.
To those who are waiting … wait a bit more, hehe. Sorry, I had an unplanned re-installation of my OS (Linux) because I messed something; and since I'm doing it, I decided to just upgrade to Ubuntu 22.04 using the Pop OS flavor. And baaam … I encountered issues with the laptop's BIOS … which took me a day to find a workaround.
So … I just got a working system back earlier today, I haven't watched the latest episode yet; I'm still reinstalling important software and catching up to missed emails too.
Anyway, I'll have it before the clock strikes midnight Philippine Time.
I also have to address something important too since it's starting to cause some heated discussions in other boards and SNS. It's just going to be my own opinion about it.
The major secret of the Jin clan is the ice stone is passed on to the eldest daughter because the eldest is always the most powerful? When the eldest daughter was born … the current leader transferred the ice stone to her … then someone kidnapped her?
The long lost Jin daughter was only a cover up? She is not actually the leader's daughter. Her husband is looking for her because … *drum roll please*
She is far older (like Master Lee) and the ice stone was hidden in her body by the Songrim founder.
So, them losing her, it is imperative they find her lest someone figures out who she really is and use her.
We all know how secretive and overprotective the Jin clan is. And the power of the Jin clan is protection and sealing.
This good because this will align with the timeline. a. The Songrim founder, at least implied, died a long time ago.
b. It was the Songrim founder who hid the ice stone (or at least the huge chunk of it -- while there is a smaller chunk which fell in the hands of the Queen's clan)
c. If so, the Songrim founder was no longer before the Jin's eldest daughter was born.
So, what if … she was not really their daughter and they're just keepers of the secret and protecting the ice stone because the duty was passed on to them by the Songrim founder and to keep it a secret?
He is working in the Korean showbiz industry and they are fine with him still acting. Nothing we can do about it, we are an audience outside of Korea.
If it is such a big issue in Korea, for sure they would have complained already and blocked him from coming back to showbiz. They can block shows from airing; they can force sponsors to pull out. Yet, we don't see any such actions to this actor, nor to the projects he was casted.
Maybe, it is no longer an issue in Korea. And that's where it ends.
Even if the international community boycotts the shows he's appearing, what matters is the audience share in Korea, not the international. So it won't make a dent either. In Western shows, it's the same thing. what matters is their local audience share/rating, it doesn't matter if the show is popular or a flak internationally.
For me, what I'm seeing is because he's a huge name in the industry and quite a good actor, producers and companies want to bring him in so they can benefit from his popularity. As it is said in marketing, bad publicity is still good publicity [if played correctly].
Once this show premiers, we are going to see more memes about the characters he played in 2022 alone. That is advantageous to the shows even to those which are over. People who haven't watched his previous shows, because people still talk about him, they'll get curious about the previous shows he was in.
From a business / marketing perspective, that's good.
Also, we do not see English Korean sites talking about his past. We can only assume that it is no longer an issue there. If it still is an issue in Korea, then it is a mystery why English Korean sites are not translating news and comments about him.
Because no one in the Korean entertainment industry, not even your favourite actors, are speaking up like you do.
Instead of attacking the viewers, you should start a campaign and file complaints to the Korean showbiz as well as write letters to the actors, staff, sponsors, and so on.
Again, the power is in the actors to stop this, not in the viewers. Stop attacking the viewers when they don't have to power to do anything about it.
Why deflect? I think you should ask that question yourself. I already gave you the solution to your issue but you are deflecting it to the viewers instead of going to the source.
There's a huge difference between "he's got supporters" and supporting projects composed of maybe a hundred staff and all the cast.
If you do not like it, well, you should file complaints to the producer, the writer, the staff, the cast, your favourite actors, their respective companies, their sponsors. Maybe get the attention of news agencies too.
You see, attacking viewers for your opinion is meaningless. The real power to make a change is by filing complaints to the people who are __fine__ working with the person you hate.
If you are going to argue "they are just doing their jobs it doesn't mean they support him", well, we are watching for the story and it also doesn't mean we support him.

I'll watch episode 6 tomorrow.
It's either that deleted scene or the letter on the wall.

Simply put, you are barking at the wrong tree.

If you don't want to watch it, then don't.
Some of us, we watch for the story and not because this actor or that actor is in it or not; or because there is romance in it or not.
