Many plotlines were just tossed out of the story. Story had great political set up but never utilised. I liked queen mother's character the most. Her breakdown scene where she looked herself in mirror and realised how far she has gone, it was so well played. Our prince was great too. When he went to his brother's room years later, you can feel how helpless and lonely he was throughout his life. It feels like story touches so many great moments and then pulled back into usual tropes. In short it was wasted potential but still an enjoyable drama.

I dropped it after 1st case. It was ridiculous. If you are looking for good investigation drama, this isn't it.

This is great comedy. Our chief is brilliantly lucky....LOL. It's like chinese dirk gently but without fantasy. Those two thieves brothers are my favourite characters.

Can anyone explain why wei yan (uncle of ml) didn't expose previous emperor's scheme of fake tiger seal 17 years ago? Why did he make fl's father scapegoat? He forced old emperor to abduct so he also could have expose his scheme of massacre. Why did he cover it?

Damn ep 18 was unexpected. Writers decided that It's time to reduce casting budget.

Why did writers make situ ling's character one dimensional? He had great parallel with ji bozai. They both had traumatic childhood and they both were fighting alone. They both were self made. Both had every reason to fight against the system. Ji bozai would be situ ling if he had crossed lines. Instead writers made him one dimensional obsessive fool. Such a waste of great character...

I am half way through this drama and I must say I really liked political aspects of this drama. Both prince sui ge and his emperor father are great politicians. It would have been great political thriller if it was just focused on his investigation and revenge aspect.

Fair enough! I would also assume she wouldn't expect her brother to be this insane. And also she didn't know about bigger conspiracy.

I mean she could have secretly warned some of them about her imposter brother. They were loyalists who fought with her in death battles. It seems like her past military comrades are completely ignored for the sake of plotline.

Can anyone explain why he yan didn't contact any of her deputies after near drowning? She had an entire army which followed her for years and she left it in hands of her insane brother.

This reminded me of oh my general drama. It didn't had great plot line but ma sichun's portrayal of general ye zhao was so iconic. She was badass. She is still one of my favourite character after all these years.

This is not "legend". More accurate title is "Romance" of female general. Nearly completed half of the show and most of story focuses on our general flirting with ML. It's like highschool play. This would have been great show if it focused on FL's journey as a soldier.

Does anyone not suspect he ru fei is imposter? Both siblings have different builts and he is taller than his sister. Even his voice is very different than he yan.

What a classic beauty! She is really talented at such young age. She would be much better in movies then idol dramas.

How is this show as detective fiction? I dropped coroner's diary because it was way too illogical and absurd. I don't want to turn off my brain to watch a detective show.

Is this mainly romance focused? I liked mulan because it showed her struggle in military. Her love story wasn't main plotline.
