I’m so happy I watched this drama, I really enjoyed the choice for the casting. I want to give props to the screenwriters and the author for staying true to the book, until the very end . I can’t tell you how happy I am that they cast the perfect couple for this drama. Yang yang and Reba has such great chemistry. This is a drama that I can watch over and over again without ever getting bored. If you’re looking for a drama with no love triangles, crazy mother-in-law this is the drama for you. A Beautiful Masterpiece
This was such a masterpiece. I really loved Yin Zheng’s acting here, it was phenomenal. This is Huang Xiao Ming’s best acting so far that I’ve seen. He has shown a lot of acting growth through this drama. Their story really touches every corner of your heart. It made me feel so many feelings, I never knew I was capable of feeling. Cant even tell you, how many poetic and heartbreaking scenes there are in this series. I cried so much watching this, both happy and sad tears. This drama will forever be etched in my heart. I really loved the cinematography it’s definitely top notch. I didn’t know anything about Beijing Opera prior to watching this, but after watching this I am definitely a fan of it. Also, last but not least the OST was amazing! Every time I listen to the OST (Lu Hu - Winter Begonia (鬓边不是海棠红) & Xin - This Life (此生) my heart still hurts. Please give this drama a try you wont regret it. Hopefully, it will also leave a imprint in your heart like it did in mine.Was this review helpful to you?
Definitely A Sleeper Hit
This drama was a complete sleeper hit. Honestly, I didn’t even hear about this drama at all. One day I happen to stumble upon it somewhere and thought I’d give it a try. I ended up binge watching the entire series. The male lead did such a good job, I can see why he won the 49th Baeksang award. I thought the story was really moving and the pacing was good.I’m a little sad that this drama is so underrated. Hopefully, in the future more people will be able to see this gem of a drama. I thought it was a pretty decent thriller with A+ acting. Had me at the edge of my seat throughout the entire drama.Was this review helpful to you?
