They’re separate adaptations of two connected novels. Personally, I think it’s best to see them as different dramas as it’s intended, since there are changes in entire cast, locations, characterisation, and even dialogue and timeline inconsistencies for overlapping scenes. I also don’t really buy POV explanation,it feels a bit forced to me. But to each their own

Totally agree! I’ve rewatched this drama so many times, and I didn’t even know the actors before watching it. To me, Sang Zhi, Duan Jiaxu, and all the characters feel like they really exist somewhere. I truly love this drama so much and is my happy place ❤️Missing Duan jiaxu and Sang him so much .They such an ideal couple to me, and I honestly can’t see them as any other characters🙈
