What are you talking about? It's a great adaptation of the novel
"Censored" has a very specific meaning and should not be used in the context you have applied. Story has been changed slightly specially in the the last 2 episodes.
Agreed. I commented how the show's writing was good even up until halfway point, but in the last few episodes…
After wasting a lot of time on slow motion dialogue delivery and random scenes, they have been trying to squeeze in the complex story within the last few episodes and it shows in the cracking narrative and the off-key cut scene to scene editing.
Agree. She has a major blindspot when it comes to her embracing her own valour in the battlefield while completely…
Right, there's a scene where the Marquis tells her to get behind him but she defiantly replies that she can hold her own! She won't let the guy who loves her protect her and in return he respects her ferocity and confidence on the battlefield! She is yet to learn that respect is also given, not just earned.
I’m starting to feel like Changyu is a bit of a hypocrite. Knocking out Li Huaian and drugging Xie Zheng (even…
Agree. She has a major blindspot when it comes to her embracing her own valour in the battlefield while completely disregarding the fact that other Soldiers/Generals have a very similar desire, not just out of duty or love but out of an innate need to be useful and provide protection from impending danger. She has done this twice now to Proud generals , for a change I liked that Li got so angry at her !

you are implying that my criticism is due to the absence of intimate scenes, I wanted to tell you that it isn't. It is odd that people think hot kisses is all it takes to make a great story.
I don't know, I think it's a matter of taste. I think the drama did it a lot better than the novel. The main couple,…
Making everything mainstream palatable in the drama ruins the novel's niche character dynamics in my opinion. It is okay to like it in its watered down version, that is your taste.
I tend treat novels and shows/ movies as the completely different mediums they are. If you separate them you can…
BBC Pride and Prejudice is a gem. I think Classics have a very long stable life because of their deep literature quality and exposition of human nature, they can be interpreted/recreated/ re-visualized many many times every decade and we will still love them, no the same way, but we will love them. I dare not compare my love for a classic, to my fascination with a shallow fantasy genre.
So glad I'm not reading the original source. Totally 1000% enjoying the drama, granting the director full agency…
I don't think it would have been THAT much of a joy ride had I not read the novel either, but it certainly dimmed the golden halo the Director built in the first 6 episodes. Ah, the pre novel aura!!
I am seriously regretting reading the novel starting 10 episodes ago because the drama continues to be underwhelming in comparison 😕 DO NOT READ THE NOVEL IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY THE BITS AND PIECES IN THE DRAMA
unpopular opinion but i loved zlh dearly in our generation. i was really impressed when both he andzjm said that…
It was definitely this drama of him for me. Do you have a link of this interview? I personally felt Our Generation was a turning point for ZLH as his acting definitively reached a serious level and that is when I actually started looking forward to more of his work.
I can’t help but feel a bit disappointed with how Zhang Ling He was used in Pursuit of Jade. His role comes…
I felt the same. Novel is actually completely from FL perspective, ml's role is written to be supportive mostly. That just how the story is. I hope he doesn't pick such scripts again.
No, I suggest waiting for it to finish so that you can binge and feel fairly more satisfied with the developments.
It is NOT a fast burn, the relationship evolves slowly, episode by episode.... That is why the binging at the end is recommended. Pace is not defined by how early they fall for each other, but how quickly the relationship develops into passionate intimacy and in this case the relationship is definitely not fast burn but nor is it a slow burn because we haven't entered the "having real conversations" territory yet! It is a budding moment by moment romance at best.
