If you like it that much, you can watch adult films.
China produces romance dramas and idol shows to brainwash its own people, while also unintentionally brainwashing people in neighboring countries. They make war dramas, yet still force romance plots into them, making people think war is something beautiful or glamorous.

In the end, they just want to create a playground to herd gullible people, similar to an MLM scheme. In that system, the most important thing is paying taxes, which is why actors who evade taxes get banned immediately. What they really want is for people to spend every day obsessing over idols, throwing money at idols, and constantly following idol-related topics until they become completely consumed by it. From their perspective, that’s actually beneficial, because the money eventually flows back into the state economy.

Of course, every country has its intelligent and capable people. Those people would never waste their time on this kind of trash. As for people whose minds are already vague and easily manipulated, if they are not being milked by idol culture, then they will probably just lose their money to MLMs or other kinds of scams anyway.

I feel like your parents gave you a very poor upbringing, to the point that you became just another puppet of the system.

I have three children: my oldest son is in his first year of university, my daughter is in 11th grade, and my youngest son is in 6th grade.

I never let my oldest son play online games. I buy him a PS5 and high-quality AAA games on Steam or the PlayStation Store instead.

My daughter likes watching these idol dramas, but I don’t let her watch them freely either. I approve what she can watch. If she tells me a certain drama is good, I watch it myself first, and only if I think the content is genuinely worthwhile do I allow her to watch it.

If you had been properly educated, with values aimed toward truth, goodness, and beauty, you probably wouldn’t be sitting here discussing this kind of garbage. You’d more likely be discussing which films deserve to win the Oscars this year.

How did you even grow up to be like this? Ever since I was little, whenever my parents tried to force me to do things I didn’t like, I pushed back. Now I’m an adult, I have a job, and I can finally do the things I actually enjoy — like staying home and playing games on weekends.

Do you have some kind of masochistic tendency or what? Why do you keep forcing yourself to watch movies you don’t like and actors you don’t like? I seriously can’t understand you. There’s no shortage of movies or idols out there to follow. Chinese dramas alone are already endless, not to mention Thai dramas and Western movies and shows. You should probably get your head checked and see whether something’s wrong with your brain.

Silent Tides and Love of Nirvana of his more recent ones also had meaningful content! Some of his older dramas…

If you've ever seen Lurk (2009), you'll find Silent Tides to be childish.

If you enjoy watching really good Chinese dramas, I can recommend a few to you. Recently, there's the drama Swords into Plowshares (2026). The Long Season (2023), Ripe Town (2023), The Wind Blows from Longxi (2022), Ming Dynasty in 1566 (2007), Awakening Age (2021), The Last Goodbye to Mama (2021), Day and Night 2017, The Longest Day in Chang'an (2019), The Long Night (2020), The Bad Kids (2020), Minning Town 2021.... There are so many good Chinese dramas. I don't need to watch those rubbish ones.

I don't have much time to watch trashy dramas. So many are released every day. China produces an incredible number of trashy dramas. I'm watching The Boys' final season, Stranger Things, Black Mirror, and a few other series.

Did I say something wrong? There’s no shortage of drama films out there—plenty of genres to choose from. The one I hate the most is brainless romance. But I’ve never gone into those kinds of shows just to comment on how bad they are. I look for good, meaningful films to watch.

Same goes for you. There’s no lack of actors or films out there. China produces so many trashy shows you can’t even count them all. If you like a certain genre, go find it and watch it. If you like a particular actor, go watch that person. Is there something wrong with your brain? No one is forcing you to watch films you don’t like, genres you don’t like, or actors you don’t like.

I'm really curious....why is Allen still doing romance drama when he knows he clearly won't put his all into it.…

Title Blemish Flaw
Qin Jun Jie is a good actor, I don't understand how he can do such nonsense, cheap drama, really a waste of time🤡🤢
After reading your comment, I had to create an account to reply to you. Qin Junjie is a good actor, you're right. But this drama isn't rubbish, and he's not playing a rubbish role either. Qin Junjie has acted in many TV dramas, and each of his roles is different, and this one is no exception; he performed exceptionally well. He also chooses his scripts very well. The fact that he's in the main cast partly guarantees the quality of the drama.
