I can't blame any characters in this drama. The decisions they make are right for them in the specific situation. As for love, some people live with the love they can't forget and obsess over them for life and be madly in love. Some forget them easily and move on and they have other things to focus on in their life. As for lu feng I think his only purpose in his life is yi chen because yi chen is in his happiest moments. So he can't let go of easily. Because his family never gave him the love and he wanted and they only look at benefits. As for the mother she is an ordinary woman who married in to a family and wants to lead a life focusing on her family. She just want her sons to be like everyone else graduate, get a stable job, marry, have children and be settled. It is like this in most of the asian families. They highly value the societal norms around them. So even if they understand the pain and agony their sons pay for this, they think if everything is normal they will eventually be happy and it is the most parents do. They want to complete their responsibility before they die and continue their family line. Yi chen who was born in a family like this who didn't have any major problems growing up will think twice in the choice of family or boyfriend. And he also found it hard to resist the family because of how they raised them. So he is very conflicted inside. I was also in a similar situation so I can understand his feelings well. If one of them had no family issues this might turn out like this. But families are both a strength and burden to us in the long years of our life. It is the choice we make will decide it is a burden or strength. If all the characters are in this where slightly emotionally calm the situation would not be this bad. May be half of them especially the little brother. He just do whatever is in his head before thinking the consequences of his actions.
It's just merely what I am thinking. Let me see where this will lead them as there are many possibilities of happening anything.
