I want to read the novel, but I'm waiting for a complete translation. I read some chapters in the past, before the drama aired and I was actually wondering how it would translate on screen, because the FL and ML hated each other so much. They changed the ML a lot so I'm assuming a lot more changes happened along the way. With the cuts they made, I'm not surprised Ji Wu is different in the novel.

Plus he has a bit of Bing Chang in him, because they used her tears 😂

Hahahaha. I'll have to agree that Xiao Lin, boring as he was, was my favourite of the three. Although I also liked the sibling interactions between Sang You and Sang Jiu as well. Ji Wu didn't come off well on screen. I'm not sure if my opinion would have changed if his story wasn't cut to pieces, but he came off as stubborn, jealous, weak and prejudiced.

Yeah, but her stupidity kept her from seeing that those love threads didn't work the way she thought they did. She thought she could seduce anyone, but if she was smart she would have seen that it didn't work on everyone.

YBC always thought she was smart for some reason, but she always overestimated herself. Her arrogance made her think he looked at her differently because he liked her.

Just randomly remembered that the first time I saw pictures of Sang Jiu in her demon form, I thought it was going to be Susu who turns into the Devil God instead of Tantai Jin after all her efforts. That would have been fun to see.

Exactly. He couldn't imagine life without her anymore, because she changed his life so much. She brought light and warmth into his dark and desolate existence. Living without her would throw him right back into that darkness and he preferred death over a life like that.

So sad..... So painful. This drama definitely knew how to squeeze every last drop of our emotions.

They definitely both fell in love unintentionally. In his case, he never expected to, because he thought he wasn't able to love. I think the fact that his love threads grew for her made his attachment to her that much stronger. He only ever loved her. Only ever saw her. She was everything to him. Nothing else and no one else in the world even compared. On the other hand, she was on a mission and love wasn't part of it. The more she learned about him, the more her heart opened up even against her wishes. So it was unexpected to both of them. The difference was, it was a welcome surprise for him. He embraced his love, because it gave him hope. He was hopeful for the future. Wishing to be with her forever. She on the other hand knew their ending could not be happy. For her, their love was more of a curse.

I know right. He was hoping against hope and praying for her to stay by his side forever.

I think he started seeing her differently. Not only differently from before, but different from other people. His heart started warming up to her. In his case, I think that was a start of a romantic love. In her case, whether romantic or not, her care for him became much more sincere. It wasn't really planned anymore and was more of a gut-feeling. In a lot of the earlier episodes it's very clear that she won't allow herself to feel more for him than she should and even when her feelings for him grew, she still stubbornly denied them even to herself.

that scene.... what can I say. From the moment that wedding started my heart was already breaking. Tantai Jin was so happy and it hurt so much seeing him beaming and knowing that something bad was coming. Everything that happened afterwards was just pain after pain after pain. When he said that he wanted her to taste his hatred, I saw more sadness in his eyes than anger. Luo Yun Xi and Bai Lu were on fire in that scene.

I love seeing Luo Yun Xi is fight scenes, because he moves so elegantly. It's very smooth. Like watching a dance. Also, in that particular scene it's fittingly effortless, because he can basically kill them all, including Xiao Lin, in an instant, but doesn't. Like a cat playing with its prey. But I also think that it's clearly Li Susu's influence. He doesn't kill without a second thought anymore.

Definitely one of my favourite scenes. They both clearly started having feelings for each other, but both didn't really know it yet.
