Her mother didn't use the ring on her father. It's revealed half way through that she doesn't wear the ring when she's with him and in the last episode her mother and father tell her that she never used the ring on him. She did use the ring once before on another guy, but he left her when he saw her real face and she never used it again. She only decided to give her daughter the ring, because she kept staring that the drawing she made on the ML all day lol. I feel like her mother should have known better, since she went through the heartbreak of using the ring herself and decided not to use it again. She should have known that the ring wouldn't bring her daughter happiness, but I guess that she also wanted her daughter to learn to love herself the way she is and that is something the ring did end up teaching her.

I finally watched this drama. I came across the webtoon before the drama was announced and read the chapters that were available in English at the time. For some reason I never really got back to reading the rest. I did initially plan to watch the drama, because the cast seemed to fit the parts really well and it looked like it would be a fluffy and cute type of drama. Unfortunately, it kept being pushed back while I focused on other dramas. I finally finished it and I must say for the most part it delivered the fluffy and cute and there was plenty of funny too.

One thing that I really loved about this drama are the side characters. They all seemed to have very interesting personalities and made the episodes lively.

Lim Joo Gyung is a rather typical kind and bright FL. It was actually to the point where I would shout at the screen for her to get some backbone and to get angry and do something. Unfortunately, there were not enough (just a few) of those moments where she would stand up for herself and she remained rather mild until the end. She was also rather childish in speech and behaviour, but once again that's something rather typical in dramas, especially in a high school setting. Moon Ga Young did do a good job portraying the character as a vulnerable girl who was trying very hard to be strong while thinking that she's weak herself.

There were many bad comments about Cha Eun Woo's performance as Lee Su Ho, but I actually enjoyed it. Whether it was because he fit the part well or because he did a good job acting is yet to be seen, as this is the first drama of his that I ever watched. Similar to Lim Joo Gyung, the character is a rather typical ML. Cold on the outside, but warm on the inside. He's a very guarded person and doesn't show a lot of emotion, but is very kind and caring once you get to know him. Like Lim Joo Gyung, Lee Su Ho is rather mild. The two are also at their best in the quiet moments when they enjoy each others company.

Han Seo Jun compared to the other two leads is much more dramatic and lively. I think that's the reason why his character was so popular. Hwang In Youp is a charismatic presence on screen, which helps the character stand out.

I absolutely have to mention Lim Hee Gyung and Han Jun Woo. This couple made me laugh so much. They are an absolute match. The confident Lim Hee Gyung and the shy Han Jun Woo had the traditional roles of male and female in dramas reversed with Hee Gyung pursuing and Jun Woo shyly accepting. I really loved that it wasn't a typical drama romance.

That being said, there were some things that I found a bit unsettling.

First of all, the bullying incident. The video was spread, but the teachers didn't do anything because it didn't occur in their school and it was all just glossed over once she returned to school. I wanted them to do more. Take more responsibility, since it was such a large part of the FL life.

Another thing was the FL's mother. Right from the start I really hated the way she treated her own daughter. She obviously treated the other two children better than her and kept calling her ugly and stupid. She was definitely one of the biggest bullies in the FL's life and I can't imagine how hard it must've been for her to be treated like that by her own mother her whole life. Eventually she admits that it was her fault for not treating her daughter better, but she never realises that she basically bullied her own daughter. Yes, she loved her. Yes, she wanted her to have a good life. But did she really have to go about it that way? Did she really have to blatantly favour the other two children? Was it really necessary to make everything about her daughter's looks and then resenting her for putting on make up? Absolutely not!!! I was glad to see her change her behaviour, but I wish she had suffered more before she was forgiven. I feel like in most dramas where the mothers are really awful to their children, they eventually just have to say sorry once and they're easily forgiven, just because they're mothers. Crying once and saying sorry doesn't excuse years of abuse.

The story itself is pretty straightforward and standard. There are many standard tropes and it's rather predictable. You will be basically watching this for the fun characters and the fluffy romance.

All in all, it was an entertaining drama.

After many recommendations, I decided to watch this movie. I didn't really know what to expect, but the summary is accurate. It's lighthearted, cute and emotional. It's not as explicit as you might expect and focuses on the characters' journey and uses their inexperience to teach the audience about this often sensitive and private topic. Fun at some parts and emotional at other, it really does well following how the two discover each other as well as their preferences.

This was a very entertaining and interesting movie. I've seen many comments calling it chaotic, but I think that it was deliberately made that way, because of the notion that the time is non-linear for the Guard and Thunder. That's why we get to see a few different timelines, but everything gets explained towards the end so it's actually not as chaotic as it might seem at first glance, because every timeline is actually connected. There was a possibility to make it more straightforward, but then it wouldn't be as fun.

I really enjoyed this movie. They definitely showcased the similarities between the Monkey King, Nezha and Hong Hai'er. They are all troublemakers and were initially seen by people as potentially bad and were restrained one way or another, but given the chance they were able to show how their abilities can be used for good instead of trouble. This makes it possible for both the Monkey King and Nezha to understand Hong Hai'er and be on his side. This is shown much more in the relationship between Hong Hai'er and Nezha in the movie, as there are not that many interactions between the Monkey King and Hong Hai'er. I really liked the interactions between Hong Hai'er and Nezha. Wa Er did a great job portraying his character. He clearly understood Hong Hai'er and wanted to be on his side, even though he was pitted against him. Eddy Geng was a great Hong Hai'er. It's really these two characters that make the movie enjoyable. Unfortunately the villains in this movie weren't really effective. Ao Lie is weak, both talent-wise and mentally, so he was never really a match for Hong Hai'er. Wu Tian didn't leave any impact as the great villain of the story.

Fortunately, it's not really about Hong Hai'er's fight with the villains and more about his journey and learning to use his abilities to protect the people he cares about.

It's cute. It's funny. The ML and the FL are fun to watch. I liked the addition of him being able to read her mind. It made things more interesting, because travelling into a novel and having a system to tell you that you need to follow some missions is a common plot.

Definitely. The problem is, is that he's presented as a romantic ML, so many people just ignore it, because he's the ML. The same behaviour would stand out as creepy much more if he was the second ML or some random character. As you mentioned before, the FL becomes obedient once the relationship starts and based on the overly perfect image of the ML and his creepy and overbearing tendencies, their relationship just doesn't seem healthy at all. It just looks romantic on the outside.

I actually agree with you. The 8.4 rating of this drama is too high. At most it should be around 7.5 and that's mostly for the side characters. There's not a lot of story there to begin with. Definitely not enough to fill 30 episodes, which is probably the reason why the FL's character loses herself completely in her relationship, because they had nothing to tell about her anymore. There's also some definite creepiness to the ML. Yang Yang was the saving grace for this character. Unfortunately, the FL didn't have the same luck as Zheng Shuang was not charismatic enough or talented enough to make the role work.

The ending in the drama is indeed a bit confusing and sad for most of the characters. It's much better in the novel. Gu Han Guang and Shen Qian Jin sort of get a happy ending. She starts remembering some of her feelings and asks Mo Qing to destroy her cultivation, which would allow her to be with Han Guang without the poison activating. While they don't actually mention whether it was done, Zhao Yao tells Mo Qing to agree, so I'm assuming that eventually in was done and she got to spend her life with Han Guang. Qin Qian Xian helped Mo Qing disperse the evil energy within him and then cultivated and ascended to immortality. Shi Qi was a bit sad as it's hinted that her feelings for him are deeper than she herself realises, but she's a simple person and Zhao Yao tells her that she'll be fine after eating some meat and she believes her, so she'll be fine. Zhi Yan indeed didn't end up with Cang Ling as in the drama, because their paths deviated too much away from each other. Zhi Yan became more powerful and helped lead the Wan Lu Sect, while the two sect leaders go out to play. I actually liked her development a lot. She was so weak and scared in the beginning, but grew into a very capable and powerful woman. Zhao Yao and Mo Qing did have two children. A girl and a boy. The girl was similar to Mo Qing in personality. Serious and taciturn. The boy was like Zhao Yao and caused trouble everywhere.

I recommend the novel if you haven't read it yet. It not long, but it's fun. It mainly follows Zhao Yao, so not too much of the distracting elements.

I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would. Usually short dramas don't have much of a story and are just some scenes stuck together, but this one actually had a story that you can follow pretty well. It's still obviously rushed and things happen too fast, but it definitely had potential to be a full length drama. The actors did a decent job and would have done even better if they were given time to develop the characters. I liked the FL. She reminded me a bit of Lu Zhao Yao from The Legends with her love of handsome faces and the ruthless way she deals with her enemies. The ML is also fun to watch. Unfortunately, the rest of the characters are one dimensional, which is again very usual for short dramas, because there's no time to develop the characters properly and they usually stick with caricatures to get the point across.

All in all, it a fun short drama. Even if there's no season 2, you can still imagine the rest of the story.
