I thought it would be the typical "solve a case each episode" drama so passed on it initially. So, so glad I gave it a try! It's very well written and acted and the mysteries are woven into the storyline effortlessly. Love the bromance between the 3 main characters and do not miss NOT having the usual "romance" at all !!!

I like the unique plot where I just can't predict what's coming next! Acting is very natural with, best of all, NO Dubbing!!!! (or, at least, none that I can detect...)

What I don't understand is why she was afraid of the Di family gaining power? They were originally supposed to be the ruling family but gave it up to the Han family so, definitely, not after power!

I thought, from your answer above "Anning saw her grandmother give the instruction to send a secret letter (imitating the emperor's handwriting) to the head of Di army to order him to make this move. So in other words he was set up to make a mistake that would get him killed.", that the grandmother had set up the Di Family. My question based on that was, why would she need to do that if the Di family had already given up the throne to the Hans voluntarily?

Since the Di family gave up the crown to the Han family, why did the grandmother needed to massacre the whole family?

Yes, I was irritated with her during that drinking scene. I hate when people are bullied into drinking that much and wished, for once, someone would just refuse to play that game. To gain a job, she could've been raped or murdered after passing out!

She does get better. I like how clever she was dealing with the card issue (ep. 3).

And, it doesn't help her image when the writers pair her up with an immature boyfriend to be!

This back and forth of gaining a business deal and then losing it the next is getting really repetitive! The side characters are very boring so I just skip their parts. Only thing keeping my interest is how smart the FL is and her not basing her life around a man!

Instead of showing her of becoming self confident after her life shattered, the writers are turning her into an imbecile! I just FF her scenes and cringe at the "romance" they are trying so hard to invent.

What city is this drama set in? I love that building (with the hole in the middle) that's highlighted in every episode but don't see it in the Shanghai skyline....

Was wondering if the writer (s) was a woman!

Whenever they show a scene of the ML catching the FL in that supposedly "romantic" pose, I just have to sigh and roll my eyes...
