Good and funny but needs a lil something more
I was really excited to watch this drama! As an artist, I found myself relating to the existential dread that he is going through. I think they portrayed that part really well. As a J-idol fan, I enjoyed the portrayal of fan culture and the idols' experiences, as it is something I'm familiar with. The somewhat niche comedy was really this drama's strength. This drama was pretty good and pretty funny. However, I think it could've been better. I understand that he is supposed to have conflicting feelings, but I feel like most of what was portrayed were the frustrations, for both characters. Though necessary, it would be nice if there was more of a balance—I wish they explored more of their feelings of yearning for each other. Maybe I just wished for more 'kyun' moments, haha. I think there could've been more chemistry between the two leads. I don't mind the lack of a kissing scene—it wouldn't make much of a difference. There are other ways to portray intimacy. But, I really think there's room for them to explore the characters a bit more. There also seem to be pacing issues. The climax was pushed back to the end, and everything was resolved in one episode. Usually, when dramas do this, it can still be executed well. I think it needs a season 2 to make it better.
Overall, it was enjoyable and good. I had high expectations in the beginning, but I was a bit underwhelmed at the end. I have no regrets watching it. Better to watch for the comedy than romance, in my opinion. Still cute, nonetheless.
Sidenote: This might be the 2nd best opening in a J-BL. Of course, nothing will top the openings of Zettai BL ni Naru Sekai VS Zettai BL ni Naritakunai Otoko.

wholesome, healing, comfort (food) drama
*Spoiler-free review* but not sugar-free~I honestly did not expect much at first from this drama, as I only picked it up because I had seen the anime before. I was pleasantly surprised. I can't really say much about its accuracy to the manga since I've never read it. The drama does so well with fleshing out each of the main characters by giving them backstories, which I found was a bit lacking in the anime. Each episode felt like a comforting meal, sometimes bittersweet but ending with "dessert." Yes, be prepared to shed a tear or two, or if you're like me, more. The cinematography is gorgeous, and the food looks so delicious. I really wish this café was real, because if it were, I'd go every single day. I'm so glad they gave us a proper ending. It is very satisfying and healing. I'm so glad I found this show. I've probably rewatched it 3-5+ times now!
Semi-related to that, thanks to this drama I was able to find out about Onishi Ryusei (who plays Tsubaki Nagao) and the j-idol group Naniwa Danshi, which I quickly became a fan of.
TLDR: If you're looking for a comfort drama with delicious food and interesting characters, check this one out—it will not disappoint!

Yearning. We love it.
*Spoilery but will not go into the details*As a BL watcher who tries to steer clear of the more mature romances(like this one), I thoroughly enjoyed watching this drama. They did an amazing job of showing different kinds of intimacy on screen, which I feel is somtimes lacking in some JBLs. The characters clearly respected each other. For some, the pace might be a little too slow, but as someone who loves to watch characters yearn for each other, I think the pacing was just right. It was clear from the beginning that there is a love to be explored between the two leads. And it made me want to learn more. Yes, there are a lot of misunderstandings and miscommunication, which may throw people off, but I think it works for the story. their backstories were very interesting, I like how their destinies are intertwined. I'm really impressed with how they were able to create a drama within a drama. Easily one of my favorites.
TLDR: If you love to watch characters yearn go watch this drama NOW
