Great acting, storyline, and production team

Huge props to the child actor for nailing his role. I enjoyed that the ML left behind his toxic family and chose himself and his family. The ending was a bit rushed but that is normal for short series. I would have liked to have known what happened to the brother/ex and his fiancé. Were they charged with smuggling? Overall very much enjoyed.

That Marriage Stone Needs to Ban Them

Wow. They casted everyone so incredibly well and thr chemistry was absolutely fire for all of the couples.
Actors breakdown: The ML Hao Ming Hao did a great job but I felt he needed more emotional range. or maybe it was just the character. The FL Lu Yu Xiao was AMAZING. i will definitely be looking up her other dramas as this is the first of hers I have watched.
It would be nice to see Yu Cheng En in a character that doesn't give off "Peter pettigrew" vibes. He Nan (the Queen of abyss) did a good job with the complex role she had. I did wonder why she always looked like she was going to cry but maybe she was wearing uncomfortable contacts or something. Her love interest did a great job. I genuinely had no clue whose side he was on until further into the series.
I generally am NOT a fan of chinese OST (nothing personal just not my preference) and I LOVED this one. Im currently searching Spotify for the actual score.
Plotline: I felt like it kinda dragged between episodes 30 to 34. Like there are only so many times you can go in circles. That being said the show gave me a Ashes of Love/Eternal Love of a Dream. I would definitely suggest watching this one!

Tear Jerker

This one is devestatingly amazing. It delves into the true meaning of love and letting go for the one you love.
The story centers around two unloved chaebols who fall in love only to meet a tragic demise. He is able to go back to the day they met and chooses to pursue her properly. However, going back in time comes with a heavy price: it ages him and drastically deteriorates his health. Despite this he attempts to live a good life with her until once again they meet a tragic demise. On his third and last rebirth he protects her by silently supporting her as he is now an old man whose health barely allows him to live. He changes her life only to die of old age/sickness before they ever properly meet. However, she is happy which was his goal. It is devastating and wholesome and a true testament of love. The actors did a phenomenal job and major kudos to the ML who mamaged to portray different aging characters over one vertical drama.
That being said the last minute where the writers attempted to soften the blow by msking it out to be 2 actors playing a scene cheapened the beautiful storyline and the messages that came across.

Overall Good Watch

There are a lot of misunderstandings in this drama but the ML is as clean as clean gets. While I'm not entirely sure why the the FL was adopted by that clearly sadistic family, I guess maybe because it sets up for plot points? I am glad that the sister's fiance was able to rebuild his life without her and move on. He deserved better than her. I also liked that the ML and FL helped the sister at the end and that she clarified that she would have helped anyone. The FL was a decent human being, something the sister's never understood or could achieve. Overall it was a feel-good drama with major kudos for the acting by the hospital scene at the OR. Great job all around and great chemistry from the main leads!

Great Watch but the Script got lost

The show started off action packed with mystery and intrigue. Then it kinda just stopped. I think once they return to the ML home town it kinda pauses the whole story and turns into a detour about his annoying "sister." Also his actual stepsister is AWESOME. I enjoyed the detour from one woman needing to fill every role from soft-mannered women to warrior. This was more realistic and enjoyable.
I also enjoyed the dynamics and power struggle but again felt like the queen was just an aristocratic version of the ML "sister." I enjoyed it and the scene where the ML thinks he lost the baby is extremely powerful. The acting there was amazing. Not sure if I can say much on the FL acting as she is phenomenal and delivers moving scenes in every show she is in.

All Rounder

Wow. I did not expect that. This show had everything. It was heavy in a way that you genuinely felt for the FL but at the same time they casted the ex-best friend so well and she played her part so well that it's kept feeling bad for her despite the fact that she was a liar, cheater, and all around devil of human being. Do I feel bad she lost her baby? No. That child would have been exploited and twisted mentally his/her entire life. As would the poor dummy who believed her in the first place. I love that his parents took the FL in and regardless of everything still loved her. I would have loved to see more interactions between them and the FL but I get they were essential to the plot points. The FLs parents were 100% in the wrong. You don't need to isolate and abandon the daughter you raised for twenty years in order to make your daughter feel loved. If you do that is extremely telling on the biodaughter than anything else. Finally, the ML. He is not a green flag. He's a whole damn football field. He gave her reassurances, let everyone in his company know who she was, and even spoke (and got advice) about her with his family. Honestly, with everything her ex-husband, ex-best friend, and adopted parents put her through: she deserves it. Great chemistry. Great casting. Great Costumes. Great editing and directing. We need more dramas like this!

Digging 2 Graves for Revenge

Her story is heartbreaking. You don't get to pick your parents. She tried and tried and he was terrible to her. I get his mom was wronged and she was mad but what he did was horrible. The daughter didnt do anything wrong to anyone and the mother couldn't care less. Honestly, the real villains here are her mom and his dad. They should have said something to her. A lot of people were mad that it was HEA but this was the best ending for them. You cant forgive what he did. You can only move on. Overall I enjoyed, however I do wonder why this ML closes these scumbaggyish roles....

Mind. BLOWN. This revenge story highlights the absolute appalling nature of spoiled chaebols who don't understand the value of life and have money to fix any "mistake" they make. The FL sister is 🍇 to death by the father of the ML. The ML mother was k@ll$ed by him as well. Toss in his step-brother who is an actual psycho and you have a well planned, directed, and acted plot. 10/10 would suggest and am already rewatching.

Absolutely Terrible

I think the fact that I actually finished this show was more of a punishment then anything else. It was slow, the script was messy, the acting was a bit awkward, and the inconsistencies with the palace and the overall plot made it miserable to sit through. That being said, the only saving grace was the one scene where the ML and FL fight and the FL cries that he tried to sell her.
Overall, I found the characters annoying and inconsistent throughout the series. All in all, watch the one scene on YouTube and skip the rest.

How is this not being renewed

Everything from the acting to unpredictable storyline to incredible fight scenes was mind blowing. I've never seen Esther Yu in a completely serious role and it was AMAZING. The casting was done so well I'm not sure if they could have picked anyone better. Also, the fight scenes were just mind blowing. I know the ML and FL had amazing chemistry and were the focal point but I think my favorite storyline was Cheng Lei and Lu Yuxiao. My only regret is that I can't watch this show for the first time again. That and the absolutely insanity that this is not getting more seasons.

Amazing

This was such an original concept that was carried out well by a combination of great actors/actresses, costume/makeup, and storyline/editing.
The FL and her ***sister trade off characters so unbelievably well. You can tell which character it is not by what they look like but their mannerisms ans facial expressions. honestly, a phenomenal acting feat.
I can honestly say that I have lost track of how many times I have watched it. It is also a great first chinese drama to start off with. kudos all around!

Not Original but Adorable

While the storyline may not ve original in nature the actors/actresses kept the story fresh and interesting. The child actor was adorable and did very well as well.
I do wonder about the "friend." Did she think she could go on lying forever? Did she not think about the fallout? Are all the green tea/villianous women delusional or is it specific to chinese vertical dramas?
Also, why didnt the ML look into whether or not the girl was the really the right woman before he started spending millons on her? IDk for people in the finance sector you would think they would be more money savvy and protect their investments...

Fluffy with Serious Chemistry

This is one of those fluffy romantic series that you watch in an oversized animal onesie with snacks, chocolate, and a yummy drink. The leads had great chemistry and both did a stellar job acting their respective roles. The moms were a bit intense (each for their own reasons) but also protective of their kids. I dont think the whole fake engagement side-plot was needed but I see why they put it there (aka to move the plot along). The ML has very expressive eyes that you can feel as if you can see into his soul. The FL also gives heavily emotionally charged performances. They make a great duo! (att casting directors: you do not have to pair them in the next 20 dramas you make!)

BDSM and China? I'll Take It

This is my favorite of the adaptations of this storyline. The FL really portrayed the bipolar very well making her both the hero and the villain. The ML had great chemistry and well... so did the leashes...
Theyre such a heartbreaking couple who could have really flourished and loved normally in another scenario and with different upbringings and families. That being said I was surprised to see BDSM coming out of China but then again Double Helix has everyone in a choke hold (pun intended) so welcome to the party. I guess....

Bdsm+mental illness= we like it? I think so? Stop Judging Me.

Back on track, I address the internet here: what did we learn about whips and chains here? They dont go well with mental illness and alcohol. And rebirth stories. Actually, i quite liked it. 😉
