It feels like I'm going through the 7 stages of grief with this whole ordeal. I recently found him through WoH, I didn't even consider myself his fan yet. But what's happening to him is weighing so heavily in my heart. Regardless of the severity of the offense, no one deserves to have their existence erased off the face of the earth. His downfall was premeditated, and he's a victim of the CCP's ongoing purge of C-ent. The convenient timing of everything, the swift and brutal retaliation, evidences are slowly surfacing one by one, and no amount of bs by anyone will convince me otherwise. Right now, I'm just praying that he's safe physically and mentally. If China has forsaken him, I hope he get another chance of rebuilding his life elsewhere.
Let me tell you how my blood pressure rose after seeing the costumes in the first batch of pictures. I couldn't believe they gave our Xie Lian some cheap-looking cosplay wig and our "rich family's Young Master" San Lang some basic af robe. Ruoyue which is supposed to be a thick white cloth used for suicide looks as thin as Wangji's forehead ribbon. It's the little details that matter. Luckily, it looked like those were for test shots and the team is starting to make some changes with the costumes. I will pass judgement when we see the final product. Like all the fans of the novel here, I want them to do it justice, not making it because of the hype so they can profit from it. Truthfully, I've seen like 3 iQiYi production and haven't been impressed. I really wish Tencent or DragonTV could have picked this up, those two have been producing some of my favorite xianxia dramas as of late.
I bawled my eyes out for Ji Hoo, Shin Woo, and Jung Woo. I was on the edge of my seat screaming at my laptop screen for the girls to pick the second-lead guys. To this day, I still support those second leads and still don't understand why our heroines chose the others. I guess that's how Dramaland works.
Kim Bum casting is so perfect. I can't agree more on that.
As for the role of Mitsukuni, I immediately thought of BEAST's
Yoseob. I know he's not an actor (yet) but one can only hope.
As for Haruhi, I want Yoon Eun-Hye for that role. She played
Eun-chan so perfectly in Coffee Prince. Not even Park Shin Hye
and Sulli can compare when it comes to gender bender role.
Oh and anyone else but me want to see Hongki and Mir as the
Hitachiin twins?
