No tears left to cry... :D

Where shall I start? It is very hard to express my feelings in words.
Youth of May is a drama one of a kind. It is funny, aesthetical, shocking and sad.
I do not know if you would consider this a historical drama, but thinking of usual historical dramas they are set to play more than 500 years ago, at least. 1980 was 41 years ago, and this is why it hits that hard. The people are living just like we do now, just with less technical stuff.
Altogether, I wished there was some more background information about the happenings, which was apparently not needed for the intended audience but my international a$$ :D. But, after recruiting the internet on the topic, I understood the situation better.
Otherwise, it was a first slow and then very fast pacing story. We saw the relationships between the characters develop, the fundamental problems were explained and decisions were made, and I totally could understand why (of cause only on the civil side).
I really do not give away too much of the story, so I keep my thoughts short.
The cast acted amazingly, especially the kids.
For me, there is the need to talk about Lee Soo Ryun. She knew what she wanted and what she believed in. Of course, that made her ignorant at times, but she never forgot who her friends are. At parts, she absolutely blew me away.

I was really shocked about the happenings and cried many times through the drama.
It is really heavy but worth watching. You just need to be aware of it.

Why not 10 points? At parts, I found myself being on the phone, so it could draw my attention for an entire episode.

Because this is our first life!

A short disclaimer. I watched this drama about half a year ago, so I do not remember everything that quite well any more.
What I do recall nonetheless is that I totally loved it and that it was addictive to watch.

The drama is about Yoon Ji Ho who lives a miserable life. She is a drama-writer and gets used by her boss. She is not allowed to write what she really likes and gets sexually assaulted by her colleagues. Furthermore, her little brother got his girlfriend pregnant, and her parents kick her out of the house, she paid all the bills for. She quickly needs to find a place to stay and rents a room online. Because of her name the owner of the house is not aware that she is a woman and due to their daily schedules they do not see each other for a couple of days. However, when they find out that they are living together with the opposite sex, they are drafting a contract to get married. Nam Se Hee an (Owner?) of a dating-app company needs a wife to receive money from his father, and that is why the marriage comes handily for him, too.
Next to the main characters, we meet their best friends and love interests. Yang Ho Rang's goal is to get married to her boyfriend and have a family. Her boyfriend Shim Won Seok also works at the same company as Nam Se Hee and is unsure about what he desires. Yoon Ji Ho's other friend Woo Soo Ji works in a huge company, in which women are treated awfully, she needs to fight her way to the top.

So, what was so special?
What I absolutely enjoyed is that the drama felt very realistic, and the characters stayed true to themselves. Yoon Ji Ho is rather a silent girl. She is not good at standing up for herself and she gets an amazing character development, but she is never portrayed like not herself. This accounts also to the other characters (but with different traits, though).
Also, the drama talks about couples living together, having sex and many girls talk.
I would compare it to a very good mix of the general Korean standards of a drama but with rather western features, if that makes sense.
Yoon Ji Ho and her girls squad are hilarious, and I enjoyed their interactions. They very much reminded me of my two girls. Also, one in a long term relationship and the other making carrier and me being somewhere in-between and nowhere:D.
Every story was nicely built, and all the relationships developed differently. There were also a lot of twists and turns.

So do not hesitate any more and give it a go. :)

What a Ride!

It is difficult to put it in the right words. Vincenzo is one of a kind.
Vincenzo is the best series I've seen this year. Period. The cast, the story and the OST, everything was just perfecto. It was the best mix out of tension, intrigues, comedy and heart-warming scenes with amazing side characters and overwhelming twists and turns. Vincenzo is indeed a feelgood drama.
I've seen that some people are upset because of the glorification of the mafia, his action and the impossibility of defeating Vincenzo, but keep in mind it is just a fictional series. I personally do not quiet much enjoy action or thriller series and movies, only if they are paired with warmth or justice (can be viewed from different perspectives here...) they are an option for me. Due to the fact that there were that many unexpected turns and Vincenzo really knew how to deal with gangsters, every cliffhanger kept me going straight into the next episode.

To the main leads (all the supporting actors were great, too, and I'm looking forward to their next projects).
I knew both of the before. I've seen Jeon Yeo‑been in BeMelodramatic. Furthermore, I really enjoyed her acting, and she kinda carried the show for me. When I started watching Vincenzo, I was very surprised. She seemed like a completely different person, and I'm still very impressed by her talent.
I know Song Joong‑ki from Descendants of the Sun (DoS) and I'm so glad I do not speak Italian because I'm pretty sure he delivered those Italian lines just like the English lines in DoS. In DoS you really noticed that he didn't know what he was doing, and that he was allowed to do it in such a way surprises me. In general, I only liked him semi in the series, but that could also have been due to the relationship structure. So here it did not bother me, because of my lack of knowledge, which means I can not judge it at all. I liked him a lot in here. He embodied Vincenzo perfectly with his innocent looks and confidence.
Ok Taec‑yeon was the perfect representative of the multiple personalities and played his two roles very well. The magic happens in the eyes like I could almost grab the madness.
My personal highlight was episode 8, but obviously all of them are bangers.
It's about power struggles, friendship, the past and reinvention among most of the characters. In the end of Vincenzo, the relationship of the main leads is not defined, but I can easily say that I have not seen such a healthy relationship in a Drama for a long time. There is no crossing of borders, no invasion of privacy and if somebody told a lie, it was accepted until the person was ready to talk about whatever happened. Nobody needed to change or complement the other, they liked each other as complete individuals. They just liked being around each other and had the same goal.
The music never failed to hype me up. I really loved everything about it, but I'm pretty sure there will not be another season.

BTW since they are calling themselves the Cassanovo Family, aren't they also a part of the mafia XD
