My Boss was the first drama I watched with Zhang Ruo Nan, and I didn’t like it nor did I like her in it. Imagine my surprise to see her give this type of performance here. She was incredible, and her portrayal of Yi Fan complemented the melancholy of the story perfectly. Bai Jing Ting was a dreamy and an excellent companion. This one is definitely going on my list of favorite c-dramas.

know why everyone trashes this. Knowing it’s a 2011 drama, I kinda went into it thinking it’d be messy chaos, and by the comments here, I thought nothing from it would be salvageable buuut I absolutely enjoyed the plot. Tae Hee is incredibly charming, the chemistry is fire, and the story of the ML being sort of an antagonist who risks losing everything if the FL becomes royalty but can’t help falling for her hits 100%. They truly don’t make them this dramatic and addictive anymore lol.

as far as cdramas go, this is a banger. I didn’t care much for the cybersecurity team drama, but the characters were all interesting. second couple was cute af!

Yeah it seems like it was completely a power game for her… but in the end it all comes down to the same thing, she wasn’t in her right mind, taken to the extremes I’d say. That’s why, for me at least, using her being ‘crazy’ as a main plot device felt like a bit of a stretch to build the premise around. But overall I still enjoyed it anyway lol

I was ready to call it just another bland romance kdrama, but Kim Se Jeong and Lee Jong Won won me over. I hope Se Jeong continues returning to the romcom genre because she’s absolutely charming in it, one of the best lead actresses, for sure

I’ll admit, there are some points in the plot that made me raise an eyebrow. One of them being how the story begins—an ex-wife arranging a contract marriage for her ex-husband. Why? To punish him? Because she’s not in her right mind? The idea of a plot driven by someone being “crazy” feels like a stretch to me. Perhaps it wasn’t like that at all, but that’s how I initially read it. That said, I understand that “crazy” characters can be attention-grabbing, and despite that and some other weak points in the plot, the story completely captured me. Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin were mesmerizing.

Cute little add-on for No Gain No Love. I feel like they had very good material to develop a whole drama instead of only two episodes (kinda W Two Worlds vibes but with a romance novel lol), but then maybe we would have preferred Ja Yeon as Yeon Seo with Guy Hyun as Ha Jun and perhaps that would have ruined their story in the main drama so I get it.

kdrama gods saw me disappointed with the current state of rom-coms and threw me in for a surprise with this one. No Gain, No Love really nailed the rom-com vibes I feel other dramas of this year haven’t been able to pull off as well. The funny parts were funny and absurd (but not like… overly absurd), the romance was cute (but in a more adultish way), and the sob parts were perfectly balanced and well-developed (and not like ruining the whole thing). Shin Min Ah is a queen. (I gave it a 9)

100% agree, the past lives storyline in My Demon felt very unnecessary

Some dramas do need to be 10-12 episodes long. It’s a good story with a good mental health plot, plus Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik are great, but I couldn’t get past episode 12, I got bored. I have it on hold but might drop it :\

Yoo In Na, as always, is very charismatic. She had great chemistry with Ji Hyun Woo, but that was about it. Aside from the man from the past and the girl from the present/future love story, there’s nothing else to it. The side characters are bad, and the B plot is boring. I ended up dropping it 😬I’d say it’s worth it for the cute main couple, though.

I know I know, but still. In terms of the drama adaptation and adding it to the context that other kdramas were exploring the same past life lovers theme when it came out, I just didn’t enjoy it (and was a bit tired of it) 😅

I understand why I read people saying it’s overhyped, but I kinda watched it knowing how cdramas get, and as Chinese dramas go, this one was really cute. The chemistry is obviously the strong point. It also has a great OST. It has some boring parts and over-the-top ones as well (the whole aerospace engineer wasn’t my thing, and I skipped some parts. The game part was a bit boring but more bearable?). Overall, it's really cute. I gave it an 8.5
