I am not usually a fan of sci-fi romances, so when I read the summary for You Who Came from the Stars, my expectations were not very high. But boy, am I glad I watched this one! This drama is the perfect blend of comedy, melodrama, and romance. The story is well rounded and intense, if not a little predictable. The characters are hilarious and realistic—Kim Soo Hyun (Do Min Joo) and Jeon Ji Hyeon (Chun Song Yi) did a beautiful job of laughing, loving, and crying their way through a heart-wrenching relationship. Their chemistry is amazing, and though the drama wasn't explicit, they did a great job of showing their affection and dedication throughout the whole drama. While the drama was primarily about the couple, the storyline also followed other characters and their development. All of the characters are lovable, even the ones that are intentionally supposed to be evil or annoying. Through both the story development and the character growth, YWCFTS also emphasizes the value of life and living in the moment. The music was well done, though the transitions were a little abrupt at times. The only reason that I gave this drama a rewatch value of 8 (and not higher) was because the storyline loses its suspense after a rewatch. However, the romance is wonderful (and makes me cry) no matter how many times I watch it. Overall, YWCFTS was a beautiful bittersweet drama about a young couple in love and, perhaps more importantly, the importance of fully appreciating love and the time that we have with our loved ones.
