Ironically, his first appearance looks fun. I am deceived believing he is one of the innocents.

He is almost died, and till later episode, the wound is still bleeding. If we follow your logic that a man must die after that injury, we won't have any story to watch. The most important thing is how they show how he is saved. His friends suppport and protect him.

And it is still bleeding... Recovery is not a magic here.

Yeah, with this slowness we can see how he gradually recovers, too. You see how pale his face throughout the episode, how tired he looks, and how caring people around him are. No big events but it tells the nature of the relationship among characters.

The original novel exists? They say this drama is original script and not from a novel.

Too many romance in dramaland, so it becomes a priming for people to process relationship between man and woman.

He and the fake Zhang Mo are basically childhood friend in Imperial Academy.

That action is from his immature days, acting out of emotion. XHA has hit his head with a shovel, and let him watch some fight and how people killing each other in front of his eyes. I think, it is more hitting to the core of a character rather than breaking his legs.

The slowness is to help the viewer process the emotion. A drama is not only about information delivery, but also to create some emotional punch. This is what makes this drama superb. It lets us cry along with the story.

I love the music as well as the moments without music. It really heightens the atmosphere! Like I know something something serious would happen when the music is off.
