Today’s episodes were very bloody, I hope the 13th Prince will have a horrible death. His father is awful too.Likewise,…
I love how they changed the characterization of the emperor. In PA, he is weak, sick, and manipulated. A coward emperor. But in Rebirth, he has charisma that makes he is more fearsome. In PA, the 13th Prince is just a 7 years old boy. Now, he is a spoiled teenager.
This drama writes the villains very well. I see them like a very huge mountain that prevent the main characters to reach their goal. They do horrible and crazy things, and eventually die in a horrible and painful way.
These villains' characterization are better portrayed here that the ones I saw in, for example, Pursuit of Jade (the crazy prince) and even The Double (Wanning, the crazy princess). Generally, I don't like the crazy type villains who do things out of psychopathy. They are too dark, and most viewer usually love gray characters. However, in Rebirth, we got the complete explanation, the extreme stressful life events behind their personalities.
This darkness is the anti-thesis of our FL and ML's dreams. They dreams to create a land free of slavery, oppression, war, and fear (the very reason why those villains exist). They are living in this dystopian world, and they are breaking through it to bring light for the people and stop the vicious cycle.
So in theme, Rebirth is very strong. The overall story moves around this core theme consistently, diligently, carefully. And thanks to the well-crafted villains, our heroes shine more brightly. The story is incredibly solid, all parts tight together meaningfully.
question for the real watchers and not haters... how is the drama? I've seen some clips online and want to give…
The story is so good! It is dark, mature, and angsty. There is balance between romance, palace politics, and military. It is fast pace, to the point, and efficient. It is full of action and heart-wrenching moments, highlighting themes such us freedom, self-determination, bravery, defication, and brotherhood. The plot is intelligent, and pulling several strings at the same time.
This drama is like a shell that hard to crack, but inside, there is a beautiful pearl waiting to be revealed. Take patience and open-mindedness to enjoy this show. It doesn't give you instant gratification.
At least, the story explain. She just got two stabs, and they are not lethal. Ming Lu must fight against more enemies than CQ, using only two knives. Her passing is sadly and understandably logical. But without proper goodbye... I cried along with CQ.
More characters have died, the tension keeps rising, and we’re heading toward an ending filled with unpredictability. The last 7 episodes will be very interesting.

And... that is not a problem. This drama is meant to be an adaptation. Interestingly, it is a double adaptation. This drama adapts itself to align with both the novel and Princess Agents.

"Always"? You even counted that detail? You are actually a super fan of this drama! As a viewer, I am never that dedicated. Just say it, that you actually like watching Rebirth, so we can get along and discuss interesting things about this drama.
Yan Xun and his holier than thou attitude really pisses me off. Had to take a break at ep33 to calm down. Why…
I really wish he would grow to be a more mature man. But when he burnt the letter, I was speechless. It is his selfishness at play again. But maybe he has his own reason to make CQ not wait for ZY's return, for her sake. Because YX still returns the thing ZY accidentally dropped to CQ. YX and ZY are still friends.
I don't remember Xiao Zi Feng. Is he minor character?
