I have a question… they said this was Part 2 of Princess Agents, so I started watching episode 1. But when I…
She doesn't die. She build a family with Zhuge Yue and have two children. They live in Ximeng and manage the country. Zhuge Yue is the humble king. Chu Qiao serves in military. After 36 years, they grow old together, and are still friends with Yan Xun.
is this drama flop for real, story wise? i was putting this on hold, planning to watch it :(
Not real. The story is very good (my personal opinion, I have finished it).
Just people do their job very well in criticizing this drama. When the rating hits 6, you know how ridiculous it has become already, how biased they are.
You may try first 5 episodes. If you are okay, you can always continue. But, if you don't, no problem. We all have different taste and preference. The most importang thing is our own experience and enjoyment, not what people say about what to like and what to hate.
Came back to see how yall doing? Most of the folks I chatted with are done and left. But the divide is still there.…
I have come back. Iqiyi in my country is late in airing new episodes. Episode 40 arrived today! For me, the ending is satisfying. It is really a happy ending! All open knots are now tightly tied. The beginning meet the ending in a full circle.
Thank you for your company. I enjoy every discussion with you. Happy watching the next drama.
lol - I found ep 1 disconnected. So I went back and watched Princess Agents again. Almost done - to ep 56. So…
The production is actually very decent. Technically, in general, no complains about the lighting, setting, styling, costume, make up, line delivery, and believability of those who play the roles of military general. If you follow the discussion of "foundation general" and "Marry Sue female generale" controversies of other drama, this drama might give it a laugh at because it is more realistic. They don't use filter to faces. Dirty face is dirty. Blood is bloody.
Scenes are beautifully shot. Some scenes are highly aesthetic, especially with panoramic view. Fight scenes are good but not highly choreographed like wuxia. The battle scenes in open spaces are the ones falling short. But, it happened in other dramas as usual.
Episode 1 and 2 is admittedly a bit hard to follow because it serves not only as an introduction but also a bridge between PA and Rebirth. It has many flashbacks and people perceived it as chaotic. But, with previous knowledge of PA, this bridge can be easily passed by. The differences in cinematography, editing, etc. are inevitable because the director has its own style in storytelling.
oh wait did the rating drop due to issues not related to the series?
Yes. Since beginning, the masses already gave this series lower rating for some reasons you might know what. And, unfortunately, there is no fandom that help it to defend from the attacks.
If you don't know about that, you might want to read my review. I have my analysis of the situation surrounding this drama there. It may be not 100% accurate, but at least, that is my understanding.
As someone who didn't watch Princess Agents, this is so hard to watch but I'm trying my best to understand what's…
1. It is a sequel following the end of PA. Not an alternate lifetime.
2. Yes, thay memory is intact, but the reason behind her existence is different. In PA, she is an asset, the heir of a certain underground spy group and a super martial artist (but because an incident, she lost her memory and her ability. She starts a new journey of training under Yuwen/Zhuge Yue). In her childhood, after her mother died, she is raised by Jiang family and grow with Jiang's siblings. After that incident, she also forgot about her mother.
In Rebirth, that special identity and ability is removed. She is just an orphan, never know her parents. But similar with the previous, she is raised with the Jiangs, and starts her journey in Qingshan Manor of Zhuge family. She is trained by Zhuge Yue.
If you have more questions, I am happy to answer again.
Disclaimer: These are my thoughts and opinions. I appreciate the fact that there would be many who think otherwise.…
I want to give my opinion about Zhao siblings. Their relationships are actually well portrayed in the prequel (PA).
So far as I remember, Zhao Che doesn't share same mother with Chun'er. Chun'er and Zhao Song (not appear in Rebirth) do. In PA, Zhao Song is the former crown prince. He is a kind person and like Chu Qiao, too. But after tragedy befell on him, he lost one arm, was deposed, and lived as commonner. Zhao Che and Song are good brothers to Chun'er.
Actually, Yan Xun doesn't love or hate her, and Chun'er is not rotten in the beginning. Chun'er was a happy princess and like Yan Xun since very young. She believed her marriage to Yan Xun is a blessing, but unbeknowst to her, both her king father and Yan Xun used this occassion for their own agendas. Chun'er's tragedy is the most heart breaking. She was beaten and got raped by Yan soldiers, and her brother (Song) lost his arm to protect her. Later, they also lost their queen mother that always protect them (suicide). This is the beginning of the rotten thing. She really has no one to rely on. Li Yan is her spring breeze.

Happy to see you! I am also minority here and I appreciate your thoughts. Have you written a review? I have written mine. It is good to know different views about this drama.
Honestly I didn't think the dramas was bad bad, it was ok. Entertaining enough to make me continue. I just watched…
Watch closely. Zhuge Yue told that girl named Chuqiao to see General Chu! They don't show her doesn't mean she is not there.
That is not a dream. That is a special message from the drama maker for audience about what peace means. Those scenes are produced with warmer color. It is to warm our heart after watching tons of cold death.
For me, it is not just "staring to each other". Zhuge Yue and Yan Xun becomes good kings in their country. They don't see one another for 36 years, but keep in touch through letter. I guess, letter from Yan Xun always contains invitation to meet again in their most memorable place: The Frozen Lake, the place Yan Xun hurt Zhuge Yue so badly. Repeatedly, Zhuge Yue refuse to meet. But, realizing they are now old, he agree. They finally meet again, now with hearts free of hatred. They are friends.
Ep. 40. Finally, I have finished this! 100% a happy ending.
What previous episodes (38, 39) suggest, that Chu Qiao and Zhuge Yue are dead, are not proven to be true. Both survive the war. They live in Ximeng with their children, and grow old together.
Yan Xun also has a good life with Helian Ling. I bet, Helian Tu (the new female general of Yan), is their daughter because she resemblance Helian Ling so much. Unfortunately, Helian Ling passed away earlier.
After 36 years, Biantang is stable with the new emperor (Li Ce's son). Yan Xun dan Zhuge Yue are good kings in their respective states. Yong is still stabilizing. Quanrong people is still manacing in their border, but everything is under control. They abolish slavery and build trade between states.
We even got the alternate reality had every party in the conflict chosen different paths, the wiser ones (if Li Yan don't kill Li Ce, if Chun'er accepts Li Yan, if Zhou Che lets go his ambition and follows Huan Huan's wishes, if Zhou Che disbands Qingshan Manor and free all the assets, if Yan Xun doesn't shot Zhuge Yue) . Happiness would have been theirs. This depiction is enough to deliver the lesson. Peacemaking needs fundamental change in every person mindset, heart, and action.
In the end, Yan Xun and Zhuge Yue finally met again in Frozen Lake as good friends. A complete full circle. So happy! I no longer have an unfinished business. Princess Agents + Rebirth = great satisfaction!
Happy watching, future viewers! I wish you all the best watching experience.
