i watched PA last month, not 10 years ago when it came out, so it's pretty fresh, yes first episode i thought about the other actors, only ZLY and Shawndou(and Deng Lun) , cos the ml was so stiff back then...but by ep 2 i was immersed in those new ones, In PA Achu was played by a 27 years old woman portraying a 17 y/o... and they critisize a 17 years playing a 20years old having no depthđ , and i didn't know before starting that she was the incredible younger version of achu back then, so she does have some experience and a suitable one at that...
Some will say the acting was amazing in PA, it was good but not consistant, some scenes were incredible while others were just ok etc... they didn't do a second season back then and they could not have the same actors playing the same roles so it's just nostalgia... Now that being said, i don't know how those not having seen PA will understand everything, they didn't even explain like with a voice off at the starts the set up, like the bases, the regions, main characters etc... and they keep redoing the scenes so people will understand(but it must be confusing đ€) , which means less new stuff...
I did drop Princess Agents last year bc for some reason, I got bored... but at the same time, I do remember liking some things about it. I dropped it cuz I guess I just wasn't in the mood for it? I remember I wanted to keep going tho for at least the 2ML cuz I really loved him but I just ended up dropping it in the end. I decided to pick it back up again from the beginning (I didn't watch that many eps before dropping it) bc of Rebirth sequal and so far, so good. Ofc I won't have the highest expectations bc of my initial impression on it. I know the production value isn't that great cuz I mean, it was released in 2017 so it makes sense! Tbh, I used to think in my head that if the production value looks bad, then I most likely won't watch it but lately, I don't think about it as much and try focusing on the story instead. I actually hate that I used to think this way cuz there are a lot of masterpieces with not the best production quality so don't hold back if quality looks bad bc story and plot is the most important thing! The production value of PA isn't the worst tho. It's still bearable. And I don't hate it tbh. I like it more than I thought! But anyways, I watch 3 eps so far without getting bored so that's something. I do remember not being in the ML sadly and had SLS and I prob will end up having that but let's see if that'll change... Ppl told me that if I wanna feel/empathize with the characters for Rebirth, I should watch PA first because everything that happens in PA are events that happened BEFORE Rebirth. Damn,people are still complaining?đ. I just want to put this out there 1. If youâre still unsure whether to keep watching,you can either give it a couple of more episodes or drop it. 2. Chu qiao was barely in her teens when she was sold to slavery & had to fight of the wolves,until zhuge yue saved her. 3. She was barely 17-18,when she joined Yan xun & his army and also her being a general. 4. Yan xun didnât save her,as the synopsis says on here,it was rather zhuge yue who did during the wolf hunt & also kept her in the mansion,even taught her a lot of martial art skills and other things. 5. The actress portrays chu qiao very well,as CQâs character doesnât show emotions,rigid,cold even. It has nothing to do with her acting as itâs how chu qiao is. Whether you want to watch PA or not is entirely up to you,cos chu qiao in PA didnât show any emotions just like this drama. 6. If you REALLY canât stand this drama,itâs okay to drop it,but some of you are very rude on here which sucks out the fun in the comments as weâre all here to discuss the story and come up with theories. 7. Weâre ONLY 5 episodes in,so offcourse what youâre expecting wonât happen from the start,thereâre still 35 more episodes to go & a LOT to unpack đ.

No she didn't like both men and she didn't realize her feelings for Yuwen Yue till late in the drama. However, he was always there to protect her. She sided with Yan Xun because of how much he suffered and the injustice he endured. She wanted regime change and she detested the current empire so she wanted to help Yan Xun to conquer Yan Bei so he can establish peace. But Yan Xun changed and became a lot more savage after the massacre of his family, which the FL didn't expect. At the end of season 1, Yan Xun used Yuwen Yue's love for Chu Qiao to lure him to kill him. In Rebirth, they changed the last scene. I liked the PA version a lot more, you can just watch Ep 58. The FL battles against a lot of soldiers to try to save Yu wen Yue. The scene is also imo more heartbreaking in PA when she realized she caused his ambush. You should just watch ep 58 of PA :)
Watched 4 episodes and will continue watching. - Started for Xiaolin. Liked him since Blossom. He has not failed me đ - not a fan of love triangle and Zhang Kangle is a cutie to be disliked (anyone goes against ML's wish is my enemy đ€). I am glad that it is not the case. - did not watch PA or plan to, since it was produced almost 10 years ago. I reckon it is a marvelous drama (with amazing castline) but the production quality was as expected from that year (watched some scenes of episodes randomly) - watched the FL for the very first time and based on the character personalities, the actress has so far portrayed her role nicely. I saw the clips where she trained hard in BTS and it paid off on screen. The fight scene with General Huan was good. The sword plays really delivered. My wuxia (martial arts related) heart always prefers hand-in-hand combat style. - the first episode was rather fast paced with story of the past which made it feel like a messy plot being thrown my way but with more episodes, the story started to build nicely.

Iâm only watching cos I know the age of chu qiao in the novel & I think the age of the actress suits the novel chu qiao great. Now you might think then why didn't they make sequal after princess agents ?The drama even the novel faced plagiarism issue ,You can search it yourselves .It took many years to solve that .And why didn't they cast popular actors ?Let's be honest ,even if they did choose popular actor actress ,still there will be comparisons .Just like there are many viewers who find LYR unsuitable let alone the other casts and the main thing ,agent of any popular star wouldn't take the risk by letting their artist being in sequal of a popular drama .LYR has good friendship with the producer Zhang Meng so i can understand why he took it and when he started filming ,he wasn't popular yet .Zhang Meng is the same person who produced blossom. Apart from him ,Li Meng (also HYTT ,she is a child actress )most casts are new or less experienced actor actresses .Because only their team can take the risk .Yes i said before their acting might not satisfy you like PA ,also they only showed the flashback shortly ,not in details so the nostalgia wouldn't be same,You won't able to understand the feelings only watching the flashback ,so i will suggest you to watch PA first .But please be respectful ,saw a comment 2 days ago calling the casts as low class actors just because they aren't popular ,then another comment asking are they nepo kids as most of the casts are new. So you don't want newcomers to get a chance ?If they don't get chance how will they improve ? Or do you want to see same actor actress doing similar genre continuously ? Chinese industry has become more competitive ,only popular one's or the one's with good backers gets the chance because investors doesn't want to invest on someone who can't carry the data of the drama .In the end many artists ended up in vertical and short drama .This is my last comment ,it's better for me to not come in this page to watch it peacefully .There was a chance that it wouldn't air because of HYTT's issue .Even though it was clarified but many people still don't believe it and boycotting the drama ,giving neg rating on douban,the rating on douban would be mess sure .I am glad at least it is airing .
A good start for this drama. Yes, I do think the actress is a bit young but see how it goes. Li Yun Rui for sure..looking forward to his actings in this drama. Zhang Kang Le is good in his character and I can understand if he wanted revenge based on what Yan Xun experienced. The pace of this drama is ok so far.

From episode 1 I still believe to fully understand the drama you would have to read the novel or watch princess agents , just because of the emotions, relationships and background it builds in detail. For me personally princess agents is one of my top cdrama along with ten thousand miles of peach blossom. It is a drama that means a lot to me and I was truly invested in the story and characters. For me PA was too epic, even though after they filmed it they banned the fact that she is a transmigrator , I see the ban holds for this drama as well. It is hard for me to let go of the cast that brought to life the characters in the novel so majestically in PA. I was really hoping to see from the lake scene cliffhanger onwards live , but I had not realized until now how attached I am to PA. If anyone is interested in reading the novel as well , you may find it as Special Agent Imperial Concubine (11ć€çčć·„çćŠ) by Xiao Xiang Dong Er which is also referred to above in this drama description. The novel is beautifully well written and worth it if you enjoy reading. I wish everyone a happy viewing, I know many were eagerly waiting for this drama and the wait is finally over.
I absolutely agree on the 3 key moments you've mentioned because those are exactly the opportunities they can use to show growth on the main lead's relationship & their characters. I was probably looking for more angst given that there's secret identity, there's FL's father (traitor) and the political plot. Ugh!

FINALLY it all clicked⊠and THEN I read your comment....and boom...another memory unlocked: âWait⊠didnât I read the novel too??â LOL
All that because the drama hit us with that evil cliffhanger AND couldnât continue S2⊠like sir??? excuse me???
