WHAT THE HECK IS THE PLOT

I started this drama because of jang dong yoon and no other reason. I really love him as an actor and he really did a great job in every drama he acted on. Unfortunately, this drama is not gonna make it up. The plot is miserable af. I don't even know what the writer was doing with the reincarnation plot. It was okay when baek-ryeon is linked to the reincarnation of court lady but what with the highschool girl? Is she the reincarnation of baek-ryeon or the highschool girl actually was baek-ryeon? It didn't even add up because we see that they found the body of the highschool girl in the mountain. So, I don't understand why baek-ryeon have the memory of the highschool girl.
And don't get me started with the cupid curse. Like I don't understand why they only blame the curse on sang-hyuk which was at the first place is due to god of courage (the kid). He was the one who did all the things so that sang-hyuk fall in love with the court lady and only blame it on him? smh. I will leave the past as it is but why when the other cupid fall in love with baek-ryeon's friend, they suddenly okay with it? Like there is no curse happening towards him. Ridiculous but i will still watch this drama since only 3 episodes left.
The murder plot is okay but not important. Maybe important at earlier episode in building up the connection with female lead and male lead. But that's all. Nothing interesting at the moment. I just wished they conclude this drama on 12 episodes cos they taking a lot of time in building the storyline that it feels like some kind of the plot is unecessary for the story.
The acting of the casts all good. I have watched the main leads' show so I know they will do well. Nothing extraordinary in particular. I love every single of them and the cupids are handsome, pleasing to eyes except one cupid. No offense though hehe.
The OST is quite good. They know how to place it well. But overall I will never watch this drama again.

Different from webtoon

If you watch the webtoon first and then watch the drama hoping that it stick to the storyline, DON’T. I was one of the webtoon’s fan and I watched this drama thinking that it will stick to the original story because to me, the webtoon storyline is already good and I don’t think they need to alter the story anymore. But guess what, totally different than what I imagined. Well, I understand that some dramas don’t follow their adaptation but still, a bit disappointed as a webtoon lover myself. My opinion may be biased so I’m sorry if you think that way.
For the casting, when I first heard about the announcement on who will become Seoha and Jieum, I’m having mixed feelings because Bohyun is known for his strong and muscular role so I was doubting whether he can portray Seoha’s role flawlessly. Turned out, my worry is nothing because I can see that Bohyun really prepared for his role and watching him makes me feel like ‘ah, this person really can act well.’ For Hyesun, I have nothing to worry about because I have watched several of her dramas and I can say that she is truly a brilliant actress. The way she acted the emotions and actions, makes the viewer also felt something with her and that’s what I truly love about her acting. For Chowon and Doyun, I’ve seen their previous roles in another drama and I think they suits the character well.
Next, I will talk about the drama itself. They start off with a strong plot and a bit confusing at first but still can be followed after several episodes. In the early episodes, they follow the webtoon plot and put some detailed information such as her past lives before reaching her 19th life. Various characters in her past lives was utilised very well although for me, if they didn’t put the detailed so much, I feel okay because her 19th life is more important. But when it comes to her 1st life, I wish they didn’t change the webtoon plot. It’s a bit complicated when her 1st life has something to do with her 19th life which I feel it’s unnecessary but I love how they executed the connection into something more resolved (I put the word resolved because jieum’s character has experienced many lives so it feels like she find peace in resolving her first life). Jieum was given two choices whether to remember her past life or forget her past life. In the webtoon, Jieum choose to remember her past life but in the drama she choose to forget and this part was very interesting for me because I was intrigued to see how they acted the scene. And what can I say is they did a great job in changing the plot. Maybe because of limited time, the scene feel like it’s forced but doesn’t bother me too much. They conclude the ending of this drama well.

Where’s the twist?

This is my first review on rom com drama. I’ve watched a lot of dramas, not to mention other genres too. And I can say that this drama gives me a plain and boring vibes. I know that this drama is romance but surely, it’s not romance all along though? There must have to be some twist to make the story remarkable but this drama does not build up the plot. I love the lead’s chemistry but I don’t think it gives the strong reason to watch because until the episode that I’ve watched, there is no direction where the plot is going. The trauma, the backstory of the characters didn’t reveal up till now which make it seems like this drama will not be wrapped in a good way.
This drama could have done better with the plot and the cast but they wasted it.

A MASTERPIECE

Now I know why they called this drama a masterpiece for a reason. I wasn’t intend to watch this drama because I know that this series end with sad ending so I tend to avoid it. But they say, masterpiece need to see at least once so, here we go and I regret not watching this drama earlier :(
I don’t know about the real history of Korea and whether this drama portrays the right history or not. But I think they did a good job in producing this kind of history drama. I was reluctant to watch the lead’s chemistry because of their age gap in real life but Byung-hun and Tae-ri truly outdone themselves and I’m in love with them. I was sad watching main cast (read: characters) died one by one because they have been a supporting foundation to this drama but good characters must come to an end.
I think it’s kind of sad that Eugene has to become a foreigner for a whole life. He needs to be an American or Joseon whenever they need one. I felt pity for him the most and that was until he meets Ae-shin. These two although fights for the different cause but they protect each other and that’s what I admired the most. Although their love story is not a happy ending, I do enjoy their story.
For Dong-mae, i wish he didn’t cling to Ae-shin for his whole life but if that’s the reason he live, I accept it. It’s sad to see the backstory of Dong-mae and Eugene and how Hui-seong tangled up with them. But they make a good combo and I’m rooting for them. And I love how Hina at first just want to be a watcher but then helped Ae-shin with her cause. These characters will remain a long time in my heart.
This drama may turn you off if you’re not up to historical timeline but I assure you that this historical drama is a well-built plot with amazing casts ever. Please watch it at least once in your lifetime.

New Concept

Just finished watching this movie and shoud I say it's a fresh concept? The storyline sure feels like a typical kdrama but the concept of directing is a new feeling. This is my first time watching this kind of directing and some audiences may feel like the director and the crew didn't put much effort in making this movie, but NO. This kind of movie is so well-made and it makes me feel like I am in this situation too. Or should I say POV?
Anyway, the acting of the casts is no doubt, the brilliant one. I mean, it's Jang Dong-yoon. Of course, the movie is good since all the dramas he's in has been excellent until now. Park Yoona also did great in this film. This drama focuses more on Jang Dongyoon's pov but that don't concern me since there haven't been a lot of dramas or movies that focus more on man than woman. I feel irritated a bit with James Han character since he's the one that led to things happening between doha and taein. But everything's worked out well in the end. So, there's nothing to be disappointed for.
Personally, I think everyone should try to watch this kind of movie. It feels refreshing to watch this kind of POV concept movie, so, why not try it?

WOWWW BRILLIANT STORY AND ACTING

Personally I didn't expect the drama to be this good since it is a special episode (note that the drama have 6 episodes with 30-40 minutes runtime for each episode). BUT WOWW JUST WOWW. This drama is beyond my expectation. The acting delivered by main characters is brilliant although there might be lacking for the side characters. But the storyline is soo good, that makes you want to bingewatch all the series because of the suspense that faced by the female lead. And for the story, you know what they always say, never believe everything you see until you see what underneath them. Well, I won't spoil anything so this is it. Please watch and recommend it to others. You will not regret watching this drama and one more, LEE JIHOON IS SOO HANDSOMEEE♡♡
