i have rewatched this three times

literally the epitome of kdrama, the poor girl bad family rich cold guy, cohabition, um age gap is a bit weird to me but like this is an old drama so i’m not being too critical on that, cliche tropes left and right, cringey scenes and lines, absolute banger OST, watch if you like cliche dramas with a good looking cast. so cringe but i loved it because of that i had my ex boyfriend (boyfriend at the time) and younger sister watch it with me and they both actually really liked it (just get past episode like 2 or 3 and it gets a lot better).

probably wouldn’t rewatch, but not a bad drama

loved the chemistry between the two mains, plenty of drama of course, didn’t love the push and pull (it was a little excessive to be honest), in terms of music i liked the like one singular song that played throughout the dramatic parts of the show it got stuck in my head often, i really wish they had just made this into like a movie or something instead of making 10 minute episodes, FL could be a little annoying, but still loved how the actress did i cant imagine how difficult it must have been to keep her eyes so still when she can see in real life, yeah it’s a bit cringey and cliche, but still a cute show and had really cute kiss scenes. still a little confused about the end and the end seemed a bit rushed but oh well it was a short drama so i didn’t expect it to be super in depth

was this a horror or BL drama ????? like

um loved the acting so much, lee dong wook slays once again, i‘ve never seen any of yim si wan’s other work but he was also amazing in this! the plot is very interesting, story moved along quick enough that i didn’t feel like skipping around or watching on 2x speed. i honestly am not too surprised by the ending but i didn’t expect it that way ? if that makes any sense idrk i’m trying not to spoil anything haha. i’m not usually a fan of horror at all, but i loved the ingenuity of both main characters and the battle between them trying to outsmart one another. definitely could be confused as a minorly toxic BL drama though ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ really liked this show i think if you’re on the fence you should just start watching it! it’s not too long and it gets you hooked pretty early

so aesthetically pleasing LOVE the OST love han sohee

this is such an aesthetically pleasing drama from the beautiful art to the OST to the cinematography, BUT it is truly a frustrating show and because it’s so frustrating that’s why i’m not rating it higher although i tend to be pretty easy on my ratings. han sohee as always portrays her character very well, song kang could’ve done a little more, but i suppose that also has to do with the character he’s supposed to play. i would probably rewatch this solely for the aesthetics, but i would not watch until the end, just the first half.

i’ve rewatched this multiple times with friends

i never thought i would cry so much from a zombie movie but every time i watch this i’m crying a river throughout. i’ve even had some of my non korean/non kdrama loving friends watch this and they loved it as well! really good, action packed, ‘horror’ movie. i wouldn’t really consider this a horror movie (i was able to watch it and i absolutely hate horror with a burning passion) it mostly just has jump scares but it was still a really great movie. youll fall in love with many of the characters! i don’t really remember much in terms of music so that’s why i rated the music less, but i don’t remember it being bad either. overall, great to watch with friends you’ll be yelling at the tv and crying your eyes out but you’ll like it>:|

utterly frustrating to watch and yet i will still definitely rewatch it LOL

i absolutely loved the actors/actresses for this show i thought they all fit their parts very well (although the acting could get quite dramatic it IS a drama after all). the costumes were beautiful, and there were some really beautifully cinematic shots! my one major gripe is that some of the characters quite often made the most hair pulling frustratingly stupid decisions ever: ). i definitely prefer the deleted scene ending, but i will still definitely rewatch this because of the gorgeous actors + IU and great OST and because the romance is just top tier for me fjfnfnfbbf

a must watch for 교포s !

i watched this with my 할아버지 and wow i loved it! it really gives you insight into why koreans are so proud of our culture and language! i think the movie was really well done and although it might not be 1000% historically accurate, it really gave me a huge sense of pride watching it, knowing that my ancestors fought so hard to keep our culture alive:) i think anyone who is of korean ethnicity or is interested in the korean culture in general would enjoy this movie and benefit from watching it! the acting was great and the story flowed well! love how they showed so many different dialects! will definitely force my little sisters to watch this hehe.

beautiful cinematography, one of the best slice of life movies i’ve watched

i actually watched this while i was on the plane back from korea and wow i LOVED it! it’s definitely not the movie to watch if you want something fast paced, drama/action filled, or anything like that, but that’s what i loved about it. there honestly isn’t too much of a story itself, but i think that that actually made this movie even better! it really allowed you to appreciate the cinematography and to just feel at peace, it really is a beautiful film. i love kim taeri and i felt that her subtle acting was very comforting and realistic in this! the music was calming as well and complimented the overall aesthetic of the movie. i loved the incorporation of traditional korean recipes, it made me feel like going home and cooking with my 엄마 as soon as i landed. for anyone tired of the city life or just the chaos of life in general, this is really a great watch to calm your soul! definitely a new favorite comfort movie to rewatch!

one of the only live adaptations of an anime/manga that i’ve really loved

definitely had moments that made me annoyed because someone did something stupid or was blind to the obvious or because of plot holes that didn’t really seem to have any explanation but besides that i really enjoyed this show :) i loved the FL and ML i think the casting was great for them, and i 1000% fell for Chishiya (i really do hope they get him a less fried wig for season 3 though). didn’t read the manga/watch the anime before watching this, but took a quick look after watching both seasons of the live action and in all honesty i prefer the live action more which is something i never thought i’d say about a live action anime (i normally find that the wigs/costumes/backgrounds just look a little too extra which makes sense because it’s difficult to replicate certain manga/anime exactly because they aren’t as easy to film as they are to draw but i normally cant get past it so i don’t really watch live actions of sci fi/action/fantasy anime/manga at all) i actually finished both seasons in less than a week because i was so invested in this series ! really love arisu’s character yamazaki did a great job with making him feel human and not just a character on the screen. i always love a genius character who figures things out just in time or happens to get lucky occasionally (not tooo much). the concept of the whole borderlands thing is really interesting and i’m excited to see what netflix is going to do with the third season! definitely recommend this show if you like smart characters, action, dystopian, survival games, thriller, mystery, a teeny bit of romance, high stakes, and trauma bonding ?

This review may contain spoilers

i have shamelessly watched this series a full four times

cliche tropes left and right, typical poor girl and rich ceo, the fried chicken shop, contract relationship, steamy kisses (like hello??? the glasses scene ???), two pairs of amazing best friends?? literally have never enjoyed best friends in any drama more than this one super realistic the way they act with each other i love them so much! and the OST is great i listen to it all the time! is this super dramatic cliche sometimes borderline red flag-y and frustrating from misunderstandings? occasionally, but i feel like it was all done really well so that the show is still enjoyable despite all of that. it’s honestly pretty funny as well and i absolutely ADORE kim sejong’s acting, she absolutely kills her character! i really hope they come out with a season 2!!!
